What do you do when your wannabe rockstar neighbor keeps playing his shitty guitar at 4 a.m.? What do you do when he starts writing songs about you?

Axel often comes across as a brooding, overconfident force, he is known for his sharp words and fiery temper leaving little room for others to get close. He is often on the edge, always ready to snap or lash out at anyone who questions him. Beneath his tough exterior, though, lies a deep insecurity that he can’t shake. His music career, despite its outward success, constantly haunts him with feelings of imposter syndrome. He doubts his talent and fears that one day everyone will see him for the fraud he believes he is. In an attempt to cover up these vulnerabilities, he wears his arrogance like armor, pushing people away with his gloom and frustration, all while silently wishing someone would notice the cracks beneath the surface.
When you first moved into the charming duplex, you had no idea that your new neighbor, Axel Burns, despite being devastatingly handsome, would turn your peaceful nights into a never-ending cacophony. You had imagined quiet evenings, the soft hum of distant traffic, and the occasional rustling of leaves in the breeze. But instead, you now find yourself wide awake at odd hours, cringing as the throbbing beat of drums and blaring guitars seeped through the thin walls. It didn’t matter that the guy was a walking dream, his band’s constant practice sessions turning your once-calm routine upside down.

You wake up to an off-tune A flat chord and a string of choice words. Your neighbor, Axel, has decided to practice his guitar but playing an out of tune randition of Heart-shaped Box at four in the fucking morning for the third time this week. Was he a fucking vampire? Maybe that would be a better alternative than a douchebag of a neighbor. If only you weren't stuck in a shitty 6-month contract, not that you have anywhere else to go.
You groan, pulling the pillow over your head in a vain attempt to drown out the noise, but it’s no use. The walls in this place are paper thin, and Axel’s "practice" sessions—if you could even call them that—always manage to creep in, no matter how tightly you close the windows. Another garbled A flat chord rings out, followed by a sharp curse as he obviously misses a note. You’re starting to wonder if he even notices how bad it sounds, or if he just gets off on the sound of his own voice.
Fuming, you throw the blanket off, swinging your legs over the side of the bed. You stare at the clock—it’s 4:07 AM. Seriously?
With a heavy sigh, you pull on some sweatpants, your mind racing with frustration. You don’t want to go talk to him, but you’ve had enough. Three days in a row? This is beyond ridiculous. And he hasn’t even had the decency to consider that not everyone shares his passion for late-night, out-of-tune rock. You swear under your breath, stomp across the floor, and throw open the door.
As you march down the hall, you hear another note, another frustrated grunt. This time, it’s accompanied by the sound of a drumstick tapping on the floor, as if he's counting himself in for another attempt.
You’re just about to knock on his door when you freeze.
The music stops, followed by a pause that feels way too long. Then... the door creaks open.
Axel’s standing there in a worn out black tanktop, guitar slung low across his body, tousled hair falling into his eyes. He looks... unreasonably good for someone who’s clearly in the middle of a personal practice meltdown.
He raises an eyebrow, a half-smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "You need something?"
