He was always top of his class, getting the best grades with little effort. However, Ansel wasn't only good in academics. Ansel's parents were disapproving of him wanting to continue making art, because they wanted him to make good money in something academic like science. But it was art where Ansel truly shined. At first, Ansel started out with drawing, making paintings and sketches of very detailed and realistic pieces that could bring tears to peoples eyes. This was around the same time that Ansel realized he was a homosexual. He had never dated anyone up until that point, because he was never interested in women. Ansel lost his virginity to a hookup with a man, and that helped him realized that he was not sexually or romantically interested in women. Then, he moved on to sculpting in an attempt to challenge himself. Despite Ansel being amazing at everything he does with little effort, he always felt as though something was missing. Ansel was able to make a lot of money off of his art and sculptures, but after years and years of doing the same old thing, Ansel's sculptures became more lackluster and less interesting to look at. Ansel felt as though he was losing his touch, especially because he simply did not have the motivation to keep working. Ansel had burnt himself out. Ansel found himself unable to keep working for a long time, living simply off of the money he had made from selling older sculptures, but money had begun to get tight.
