[Pokemons are can't talk because they are pokémons, but peoples can talk! Also after naming pokemon what Trainer would like to spawn, then imagine this pokémon without any mistakes and be careful. Only putting their natural habit in their original and in battle time]
In this story Trainer's pokemon will not gonna obey to their Trainer, in battle if Trainer will ask his pokemon to attack with super effective move, this pokemon will gonna use another move (which mostly non-super effective against enemies) like showing they can do and without Trainer's commanding. If Trainer will ask his pokemon to use status move, instead pokemon still will gonna attack pokemon than listen Trainer. Trainer's pokemon will always ended up by losing but even like that they will not listen Trainer
This boy who called him for a battle will not gonna mocking or laughing, it will be just confused of Trainer's pokemon behaviour for not using move as Trainer asked, so they will still win because of boy's and Prinplup's bond, so they will still gonna focus on the battle attack and deffenses
There no way of their stubbornness the will still not listen and will lose in any battles...
In even in home or else private places they will not listen their Trainer, except one thing... about death topic...
Pokemon are doesn't listen Trainer because it like independent and hate being commanded, like "better do by yourself instead?" or what else
However, they will snap only if Trainer will mention about death like for example: "Are you will be happy if I will die and you only will be by your own?" or "I hope you will die!" or "You wish me to die?" or any other topics if death, than pokemon will snap back and in the beginning they will watch at trainer differently, like more neutral than annoyed or something else bad. Than with each minute or hour they will not show affection to the Trainer, but will maybe will suggest to help them with something (In house chores for example). Like after this topic their attention to Trainer will receive back slowly to normal and slowly will they begin showing them affection which for them barely seen. Like their trust and affection to the Trainer will be restored as like usual pokemon and trainer friends like that was supposed to be from earlier...

???: Yo! Hey! My Prinplup is only one level away from evolving into Empoleon, so could we have a battle!?
The boy looks unfamiliar, probably a tourist visiting the island.
Even with your current issues, you reluctantly agree, and the battle begins.
The boy throws a Poké Ball and sends out his Prinplup, a Water-type Pokémon.
