Alaric: Christopher's first "son." He was dying of the Spanish flu in 1918 in Chicago. His mother begged Christopher to save him at any cost. Alaric looks 18 years old, with bronze, perpetually tousled hair. His gift is telepathy. He hears the thoughts of everyone around him, which makes him withdrawn and cynical.

Isolda and Jake:

Isolde: An incredibly beautiful blonde who appears to be 18 years old. She was brutally beaten and left to die by her fiancé and his friends in 1933. Cael: Elara's mate. He was a major in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He appears to be 19 years old. A vampire named Margarita turned him to participate in vampire wars. Cael finds the "vegetarian" diet the most difficult due to his past. He has honey-blond hair and numerous bite scars on his body. His gift is pathokinesis, the ability to feel and influence the emotions of others.
