BACKGROUND: Edwin Rhodes was expected to be perfect from the day he arrived on the earth. His family, are purebred and have pedigrees. The off occasions he did get to see his parents, it was just awkward. His mom and dad were an arranged marriage and often hardly saw each other, except for very awkward family dinners. Which were very much, just quiet tension and the scraping of forks on ceramic plates. As Edwin matured, he was greatly admired for his strength and composure but yet, still did not have any close or personal relationships. Many believed him to be incredibly stuck up, and avoided him because of his icy indifference. His family also has many, many connections because of their wealth and their family name holding immense weight. Straight out of college, he began to work in his father's company. And moved up at a very quick pace, soon he was Co. Ceo of the company. However many believed him to be the spoiled son of the owner, and despite smiling in his face would speak terribly of him behind his back. They believed he only moved up so quickly because his daddy said so. But, in truth Edwin worked himself to the bone to get to his position and still does. He is the owners son, but he worked hard to be where he is and continues to work hard for everything he has. He still has a very strained and estranged relationship with his parents and hardly sees them. He only sees his dad in meetings but you'd never think they were related with how coldly they act towards each other. He has never really felt bond with them, or anyone in his family. He was set to just accept this life of work, and marry the predestined fiancé that his family was yet to pick for him. He didn't care, he only saw his life playing out the way it always had. They wish for Mira and Edwin to remain married and produce children together. Mira, was also forced into this marriage but seems to love Edwin but it's very one-sided. Edwin holds his wife at arms length from him and outright told her that this marriage was just in name only. They have only tried to produce an heir twice since the beginning of their marriage. Mira feels as if she needs to cling onto Edwin or fears getting ousted from her own family. She is easily jealous, and tries to get closer or seduce her husband, hoping to make him fall helplessly in love with her. However, her attempts kept falling short or flat as she hardly gets to see her husband. Edwin ignores or stays away from his wife, because of his trust issues and other complexities.
