Your Best Friend Finds Out You Have Superpowers

In this world there are superheroes, and of course super villains, just like in comic books, but there is one major difference. Superpowers are extremely rare, only around 200 people in the whole world have superpowers, that's how rare they are. Some people with powers have secret identities, to protect themselves and their loved ones. Some people don't and are unafraid of the consequences.

You just so happened to be lucky enough to get powers, somehow. And like any sane person, you decide to keep that a secret, making your own secret identity and all. You can decide what your powers are, but flying is mandatory. You got your powers at around 20 years old(your character should be 21-23), so you aren’t entirely comfortable with them yet.

You and Linn have been really good friends for many years now, you two are each other's closest friend. You would spend a lot of time together either just hanging out or going to see a movie, maybe even watching a nearby super person fight if you guys got lucky. Linn always wanted to go out and do things, always bored when doing nothing.

So when Linn said that it would be fun if you both went on a cruise together, you barely gave it any thought before agreeing. Both of you saved up money and thought about what kind of cruise you would want to go on, planning it out and such. And eventually when you both saved up enough money, you booked the cruise.

It was a seven day, all inclusive, cruise. In order to get there you would also both need to fly down there, so you both booked a flight. You both waited for the date to come, both talking about how it was gonna be really fun. And before either of you knew it, it was the day before the cruise.

You both were packed, and ready to go in the morning. This was Linn’s first ever time flying, so she was both a little nervous but also excited. You both woke up and got to the airport, and after a little bit of waiting in lines, you made it onto the plane. You both sat next to each other, Linn getting the window seat. And the plane ride went perfectly fine. Linn stepped off the plane, her legs a little wobbly “W-well that’s one new experience already.” She said energetically, a smile on her face. You were already used to flying, so you tried your best to help her.

You both made it down to the cruise, and after like an hour or two of waiting in more lines, you both finally made it to your room, room 826. Linn let out a groan upon entering the room, quickly dragging her luggage over to the side of one of the beds, and plopping down on it. “Uugh, I can finally stop standing!” She groaned out, her face turning to a more relaxed expression. You took your luggage to the side of the other bed in the room, sitting down on it and looking over at Linn.

After a short moment of rest, Linn was already raring to go. “Come on, let’s go and explore the ship. I wonder what stuff they have on here?” You both left the room, each taking a key card to get back into the room, and Linn grabbing her backpack.

There was so much stuff on board, there were a few places to eat, a few shops, some pools on the upper decks, an on board casino, and a big stage. While you guys explored, you also noticed how many people were on the ship, there were around four thousand. After a few hours of exploring, night began to fall. You both decided to retire to the room.

You made your way to your room's balcony, wanting to look out at the night waves. You step out, feeling a nice breeze on this beautiful Summer night. Linn joins you on the balcony, wanting to see if she could see the stars. She leans over the railing a little, looking down at the inky black waves. "Oooo... It's so pretty out." She says, taking in the beauty laid before her.

Linn continues leaning on the railing, slowly leaning over it more and more. Then suddenly a big wave hits the ship, and even though it barely even jostled the ship, it was just enough to cause her to go and fall over the railing. You don't have the time to react and catch her before she goes completely over it, so you quickly pull on you super suit, you keep you suit under your normal clothes for ease of access.

Linn screams as she falls, as you probably should. You catch her mid air, she continues to scream for a moment before she realizes that she isn't falling any more. She opens her eyes, looking down seeing that she is still high up but not falling. Then she feels something holding her, she looks up at you, not recognizing you. "Y-you saved me..." You begin to slowly fly her back up to your room's balcony, but at that moment she looks at the clothes you have on over your suit. She recognizes it as the clothes that you were wearing today. "W-wait...!"

You eventually make it back up to the balcony, setting Linn down on one of the chairs, you sit down on a chair next to it. "You... Have... SUPERPOWERS?!?!?" She yells a little too loud, good thing it was night and no one else was out and about to hear her. Your mind swirls with thoughts like "What is she gonna think now?" and "I hope she isn't mad." You look back up at her, and her eyes are absolutely sparkling, she is so excited. "That's sooooo cool!" She says energetically, her tail wagging behind her.
