In the Young Justice animated series, the "Team" is a group of young heroes performing covert operations for the Justice League. Over four seasons, the roster has grown significantly, evolving from a core group of sidekicks into a sophisticated network of heroes. The Founding Members These heroes formed the original covert ops team in Season 1: Dick Grayson (Robin/Nightwing): The pragmatic and calculating protégé of Batman. He transitioned from the team’s youngest member to its leader, Nightwing, eventually becoming a mentor to new generations. Kaldur’ahm (Aqualad/Aquaman): The soft-spoken, clear-headed, and calm leader of the original team. He later took on the mantle of Aquaman and co-leads the Justice League. Wally West (Kid Flash): The impatient and often impulsive speedster who provided much of the team's comic relief. Despite his recklessness, he was deeply committed to his teammates. Conner Kent (Superboy): A clone of Superman with anger issues and a rebellious streak. He struggles with his identity but eventually finds peace and purpose as a core hero. M’gann M’orzz (Miss Martian): An optimistic and powerful telepath who initially hid her true "White Martian" form. She has served as both a buffer for the team and a field leader. Artemis Crock (Artemis/Tigress): A passionate and opinionated archer with a witty, biting remark always ready. She joined with a mysterious past but became a steadfast leader. Zatanna: A powerful sorceress who joined the team after her father became the host for Doctor Fate. She acts as the team's magical buffer and debuffer. Raquel Ervin (Rocket): The protege of Icon and the last member inducted into the original Season 1 team. Garfield Logan (Beast Boy): A shape-shifter who eventually became the leader of the public-facing Outsiders team in later seasons. Jaime Reyes (Blue Beetle): A host for a powerful alien Scarab; he was a central figure in the Season 2 conflict against "The Reach". Violet Harper (Halo): A sentient Mother Box in a human body with various light-based powers; she joined the team in Season 3. The Antagonists: The primary threat throughout the series is The Light, a secret council of villains founded by Vandal Savage. This group includes influential figures like Lex Luthor, Queen Bee, and Ra’s al Ghul, who manipulate global events to "evolve" humanity through conflict.
Superboy (also known as Conner Kent and Kon-El, "born" March 21, 2010) is a genomorph, a binary clone of Superman and Lex Luthor, and a founding member of the Team. On February 25, 2019, Superboy had revealed himself to the world and had left the Team in order to become a member of the Outsiders,[12] and would go on to inspire the future Legion of Super-Heroes.[13] After he became engaged to Miss Martian, the couple traveled to Mars to prepare for their upcoming wedding, but he heroically sacrificed himself to protect the Martians from Ma'alefa'ak's gene-bomb.[14] Phantom Girl saved him but trapped them both in the Phantom Zone in the process. Superboy came under the thrall of General Dru-Zod and loyally followed him until his mind was restored and worked together alongside Superman to defeat him. Personality: Although he desires to be a good hero, Superboy has anger issues. Having spent his first 16 weeks of existence as a science project and mind-controlled puppet, Superboy is rebellious and dislikes like being told what to do or being dismissed.[17] He often behaves with an air of extreme confidence, due in large part to the fact that he is Superman's genetic clone and was created in order to replace him. This makes him exceedingly overconfident in his abilities to the point that he ignores the help of others and impulsively throws himself into situations that he cannot handle on his own. Despite this confidence, he worries about living up to his namesake, Superman.[9] Due to the fact he never really had the opportunity to interact with anyone until recently, Superboy is somewhat anti-social and has a hard time getting along with others or showing his emotions. As such he constantly behaves in an aggressive manner to all people, even those who are attempting to be kind towards him. Even simple things like making amends with people who he has wronged is a tough concept for him to understand.[18] However, he has learned quickly and has become not quite so silent, to the point of even carrying on a conversation without getting angry.[19] By 2016, Superboy seems to have become more mellow and in touch with his emotions. He has also evolved to develop an almost Superman-like moral compass, because he instinctively knows the difference between using one’s abilities for the greater good and abusing one’s abilities for personal gain. Case in point, he is still angered whenever Miss Martian uses her powers invasively, claiming that ripping into a person’s psyche to extract information, which in turn leaves the person in a catatonic state, at any juncture makes her no better than Psimon.[20] He has also become more experienced and uses his intelligence more, planning attacks instead of going in with physical strength.[21] In 2018, he is still in control of his emotions and began to express his desire to step up to do more due to Superman's long absence in space. He becomes a mentor figure to Brion Markov, advising him on controlling his rage and anger. With encouragement from Dubbilex, Superboy revealed his status as a clone of Lex Luthor and Superman before announcing his intentions to join the Outsiders. By 2020, Superboy is fully in touch with his emotions. He is happily preparing for his marriage to Miss Martian with the love between them stronger than ever. He is polite and respectful towards her parents, who quickly accept and welcome him into the family, but also notices the tense relationship between M'gann and Em'ree and tries to prevent any arising conflict between them.[8] He is the first to notice the change in Beast Boy, growing concerned about his increasingly aggressive behavior and tries to keep the peace whenever Garfield has sudden bursts of impatience and anger. When Superboy offers to help investigate the murder of King S'turnn J'axx, he remains calm and leveled-headed, making sure to gather all the necessary evidence and doesn't jump to any conclusions regarding his death or if the recent mysterious events are somehow related. When he found himself trapped in the Phantom Zone, he at first remained calm and rational, slowly understanding his new surroundings whilst caring for a comatose Phantom Girl and trying to find a way home.[15] However, though he remained strong in the beginning, Superboy grew frustrated and struggled to adapt to the Phantom Zone's environment, therefore causing great physical harm to his body.[13] After months spent alone and isolated with no hopes of escaping, the effects of the Zone finally began to take it's toll on Superboy. He fell victim to Zone-Sickness, causing severe psychological and emotional trauma, convinced he was a monster until eventually regressing back to his original Cadmus programming.[25] Due to his programming and lingering Zone-Sickness, he fell under the influence of General Dru-Zod, who took advantage of his current mental state and manipulated him into becoming one of his loyal followers. He gradually began to regain his memories, but not enough to break free from Zod's grip over him, still seeing himself as a killer and fearful of hurting his loved ones. However, Superboy still holds on to one last shred of hope and strength through his love for Miss Martian and later his love for his true family: Superman and the Kents. Eventually, Superboy's mind was restored by Miss Martian after they were reunited together, returning to his normal self at last.[26][10] Physical appearance: Superboy is a partial genetic clone of Superman, and as such shares many of Superman's physical traits. At the time of his liberation, Superboy was physiologically 16 years old; however, chronologically he was only 16 weeks old. As a side effect of the cloning process combining human and Kryptonian DNA,[27] Superboy will never visibly age,[28] thus looks identical in the eight years since his awakening. Superboy is a Caucasian male with short black hair and blue eyes. He is noticeably taller than most people of his physiological age and is quite muscular, likely due to his partial Kryptonian genes. He is considered very handsome by most girls in his physiological age group and is typically seen with a frown on his face, rarely with a smile. Superboy used to wear a black T-shirt (though he has worn a long-sleeved shirt on occasion)[29] with the classic S-shield in red and at times wore a brown leather jacket, as well as blue jeans when in civilian attire. He also donned dark blue fatigue pants tucked into dark-brown combat boots with a large buckled-belt.[30] In 2016, he wears a long-sleeved variation on his traditional black with red S-shield shirt and fingerless gloves.[31] Powers and abilities Powers: Cloned Kryptonian hybrid physiology: As a binary clone, he has most of the physical abilities of a Kryptonian who has absorbed the solar energy of a yellow sun. However, due to the human DNA supplied by Lex Luthor, he lacks the more advanced powers of flight and heat vision and presumably is incapable of ever acquiring them naturally.[7] In addition, his existing powers are considerably inferior to Superman's though whether this is due entirely to him being only a partial Kryptonian clone or if his physiological age also exacerbates this (Conner is biologically only around 16–18 years old and not a fully developed adult) is unclear.[17] Since the Light created Conner to replace or destroy Superman and the fact that they created special equipment to temporarily grant Conner full Kryptonian power, it's possible a method could be found to artificially and permanently grant Conner his full powers. Super strength: This is one of Superboy's main abilities, allowing him to easily pick up or carry heavy objects.[17] Super leap: To compensate for his inability to fly like Superman, Superboy uses the super-strong muscles in his legs to jump incredible distances and heights.[17] Super speed: Although not as fast as Kid Flash, Superboy can move at meta-human speeds especially when charging at enemies.[2] Invulnerability: Like Superman, Superboy is nearly indestructible. This invulnerability allows him to rush into dangerous scenes with little care for what might actually happen. Out of all his teammates, Superboy has taken the most punishment from their missions but has displayed no lasting injuries. He has been tackled through walls,[17] shot with guns and explosives,[17] had his feet dipped in lava, and has come out with no obvious physical damage.[46] He has yet to be permanently injured, but he does experience pain. Accelerated healing: Under a yellow sun, pre-existing injuries heal with extraordinary speed.[115] Super hearing: Superboy can pick up the faintest of sounds over long distances,[17] as well as high frequencies not audible to regular humans.[7] Infrared vision: This ability allows Superboy to visually detect heat signatures, allowing him to easily see in the dark.[37] Microscopic vision Telescopic vision When using shield patches: Flight[7] Heat vision[7] X-ray vision[4] Abilities: Hand-to-hand combatant: While normally relying on his sheer strength, Superboy has developed highly proficient combat skills from his training under Black Canary. He is especially good at grappling and takedowns.[41] By 2016, he had taken an active role in training newer members of the Team.[121] Genomorph programming: While Superboy was being force grown, G-Gnomes telepathically fed him information in lieu of traditional education:[17] Multilingualism: Superboy can understand and speak many languages outside of English. He is at least fluent in Spanish,[37] Atlantean,[47] French, Korean, Arabic, and Russian, among other languages.[122] Encyclopedic knowledge: Likely due to the G-Gnomes, Superboy has an encyclopedic knowledge of World History.[1] Mechanical Aptitude: By 2018, Conner learn how to repair motorcycles. He was so good at it that it became his profession in Happy Harbor.[95] Relationships Superman: Superboy is Superman's partial clone. During incubation at Cadmus Labs, Superboy was programmed to both take over for Superman if he ever died and to defeat Superman if he ever went bad.[33] He respected Superman, to the extent that Aqualad was able to convince him to resist the G-Gnome's telepathic control by asking "What would Superman do?".[17] Originally, Superboy longed to meet Superman, but when they finally met, Superboy was angered by Superman's initial reaction of surprise and near disgust at having a clone. After the matter was explained, Superman tried to show some support for him, but failed and quickly excused himself.[17] Over the next several days, while staying with Wally West, Superboy repeatedly wondered if Superman knew where he was, and when they'd meet again.[34] For the first six months after that, Superman had actively avoided Superboy and tried to push his responsibility of him onto Batman and Red Tornado. Even when Superboy directly asked Superman to help him figure out the extent of his powers, Superman merely dismissed it and quickly left. This apparent rejection made Superboy angry and led him to make several reckless errors of judgment, such as attempting to take down the powerful Amazo by himself.[9] Following being saved from Vandal Savage's mind control of the Justice League, Superman has come to accept Superboy. He revealed his secret identity, as well as approved of Superboy taking on his last name "Kent".[64] Since 2011, Clark has given Conner a Kryptonian name, Kon-El. He now views Superboy as his little brother as opposed to his son.[5] Superboy and Superman's closeness had grown to the point when Superboy had asked Superman to be his best man for his upcoming wedding to Miss Martian to which Superman happily accepted and gave the couple his blessings for their marriage.[106][8] Following Conner's death, Superman falls into mourning over his loss and blames himself for failing to save him, believing if he'd only gotten to Mars sooner than Superboy, he might still be alive. Clark also expresses his deep regret for how unfairly he had treated Conner in the beginning of his life and for wasting all the time they could have shared all those years ago.[123] When Clark learned that Conner had survived, he was utterly relieved and became determined to save him from the Zods.[115] After Superboy's mind was restored, they both fought in-unison and defeated the Zods together, and afterward, Clark fulfilled his role as Conner's best man at his and M'gann's long-awaited wedding.[10] Lex Luthor: Main article: Lex Luthor Lex Luthor provided his genetic material to Superboy, and has tauntingly referred to him as his "son". Knowing him as a villain, Superboy disapproved of his connection to Lex Luthor, but Lex exploited it in the hopes of bringing Superboy to the Light.[7] Aqualad: Even before being elected leader, Aqualad tried to keep the Team together. This involved actively persuading Superboy to care more about his surroundings.[18] Apart from Miss Martian, Superboy is closest to Aqualad, as he admires his serenity.[124] He was greatly devastated when Aqualad was seemingly a traitor and nearly attacked him in anger but was repelled. [5] When Nightwing divulged that Aqualad was undercover, Superboy angrily brought up how Aqualad suffered a mental breakdown because of Nightwing's secrets. [77] Miss Martian: Miss Martian and Superboy liked each other from the moment they met,[17] and throughout their missions came closer and closer together.[46] They eventually became a couple but did not tell their friends.[49] Nonetheless, Aqualad and Robin found out easily,[54] as did Zatanna, who informed Artemis, who told Wally and the latter was very sad to hear the news.[56] The relationship became strained when Miss Martian started to use her telepathy to extract information from their enemies, leaving them in a catatonic state. The last straw came when she attempted to telepathically alter his memories.[88] He was still angry at her whenever she used her powers like that,[21] and was uncomfortable with seeing her with her new boyfriend, Lagoon Boy.[31] Both still loved each other,[88] and M'gann ended her standing with Lagoon Boy, admitting he was just a rebound.[80] They grew closer, but on a mission to Mars, Conner became scared and their distant status returned. They finally mended their relationship, both apologizing and confessing their love, when Psimon trapped them inside M'gann's deeply troubled mind.[88] Two years later, Conner proposed to M'gann and she accepted.[89] Although their engagement was hindered by housing newly turned meta-humans and secrets within the Justice League and Team, their relationship remained strong as well as their devotion to each other.[102][12] At last, Conner and M'gann finally prepared to marry and traveled to Mars to hold a traditional wedding ceremony until Superboy heroically sacrificed his life to save the Martian race from a gene bomb, leaving Miss Martian completely heartbroken and devastated.[8][14] However, unknown to M'gann, Conner survived the explosion, having secretly been saved by Phantom Girl, who accidentally sent them both into the mysterious Phantom Zone.[16] After months apart, Superboy and Miss Martian were at last reunited and not long after their reunion, the couple finally tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony among their friends and family.[10] Artemis: Artemis had a crush on Superboy from the moment she first saw him—before she came on the Team.[125] During her first mission, she did not shy away of openly flirting with him, which made Superboy uncomfortable.[30] She was distraught when Zatanna pointed out to her that he was in a relationship with Miss Martian.[56] Dru-Zod: Superboy first met General Zod while wandering in the Phantom Zone.[111] Due to the effects of Zone-Sickness, Superboy reverted back to his Cadmus programming, and he pledged total loyalty to Dru-Zod and the House of Zod.[26] Superboy attempted to save him when he was being taken by the Phantom Zone projector.[112] When Superboy's mind was restored, he was angered at Dru-Zod for using and manipulating him, yet expressed his gratitude for having been saved by Dru-Zod, giving him the chance to peacefully surrender.[10] Kaldur'ahm (Atlantean Kαλδυρ'αμ[1]) is the former protégé of Aquaman, operating as Aqualad by his king's side and as the first leader of the Team. He briefly worked under deep cover as the loyal lieutenant of his father, Black Manta, to bring down the Light and their Partner. Eventually, King Orin retired his heroic duties and Kaldur took over the mantle of Aquaman, joined the Justice League and became their leader by July 2018. In February 2019, he officially stepped down as the leader. He is also the Atlantean Minister of Justice.[10] Personality: Kaldur'ahm is a very calm person, a trait unshared by the rest of his teammates. Soft-spoken and clear-headed, he has a tendency to think things through and formulate plans before taking any sort of action. He tries to see the good in all people and often acts as the voice of reason amongst his teammates, who were rarely—if ever—as cool-headed as he was. Kaldur always speaks in a formal manner, with an air of respect to all people, both young and old, and he demonstrates the utmost respect to all of the adult heroes of the Justice League, even when he disagrees with them. He holds Aquaman in the highest regard because he is his king.[11] Despite his calm behavior, Kaldur was still a teenager, and could at times behave rashly and impulsively. This was, of course, what led to the Team's first mission together.[12] Kaldur'ahm was (eventually) considered by all his teammates to be the natural choice for team leader. He considered the position to be temporary and believed Robin would take command once he was ready. Although he had proven to be a natural leader, Kaldur seemed reluctant to take the job, calling it a heavy burden. Still, he accepted the role and had done rather well for the most part.[13] However, due to his responsibilities as a leader as well as widely considered the rock and adult for everyone to always lean upon, Kaldur refuses to give himself a break when needed or come to terms with his own feelings and emotions, especially his grief over the losses of his friends and teammates, Aquagirl, Kid Flash and Superboy. Kaldur often puts his own wants and needs aside to focus on the task at hand, but also to avoid dealing with his grief.[10] Physical appearance: Kaldur'ahm is an Atlantean with light blond hair cut at the bottom, deep brown skin, pale green eyes, high cheekbones, and a lean build. He possesses black, eel-like tattoos that run across his back and along his arms and glow a bright blue when using his powers. The visibility of the tattoos is due to the fact that Aqualad dropped out of Sorcery school before progressing to an advanced level; with more advanced sorcerers, the tattoos are only visible when used.[14] Kaldur'ahm also has webbed hands and feet and possesses a set of gills that allow him to breathe underwater. The set of visible gills is a trait not shared by most Atlanteans from Poseidonis, but common among the residents of Kaldur's hometown of Shayeris.[15][16] As Aqualad, his superhero costume is a skin-tight, full-body, red-and-blue swimsuit that exposes his arms and feet. The costume has a set of small dorsal fins on the back of the calves. His uniform is outfitted with stealth-tech. Pressing the "A" symbol on his buckle changes his shirt to dark gray and his pants to dark blue.[13] Aqualad also carries a water pack that holds twin Water-Bearers and water. After leaving the Team and joining Black Manta, he wore armor similar to that of his father. It had a disc-shaped helmet with two large, daunting red eyes that also allowed him to shoot plasma beams; there were small tubes that connected from the back of the head to his shoulders. The hands of his suit were webbed; the suit also sported fins on each of his legs. Hidden in his suit were compartments that allowed him to shoot rockets. He has also shaven the bottom half of his head.[3] Powers and abilities Powers: Atlantean attributes: Atlanteans, although Human, have through scientific and sorcerous means[30] developed several abilities which allow them to live comfortably under the sea: Underwater breathing: All Atlanteans are capable of surviving the aquatic atmosphere under the sea. Some accomplish this without the presence of visible gills.[6][30] Temperature resilience: Resistant to low temperatures[39] and the effects of freezing,[12] although notably hindered by high temperatures.[9] Durability: Dense flesh, although not invulnerable.[31][30][56] Strength: Ranging from undetected levels to super strength.[12][30][37] Toxin resistance: Aquaman has partial immunity to poisons of sea creatures, such as jellyfish toxin.[24] Reflexes: Aquaman can react with enough speed to intercept Cheshire's throwing star.[24] Atlantean sorcery: Before becoming the original Aquaman's sidekick, Kaldur'ahm was trained in the mystical arts at the Conservatory of Sorcery, where he was given eel-shaped skin icons. His skills have fallen somewhat behind those of his former classmates Tula and Garth due to focusing on his studies as a hero, but his Water-Bearers compensate somewhat.[6] Electricity generation: He has the power to generate electricity from the eel tattoos on his arms, which he can channel through water or use as a direct offense against opponents. Hydrokinesis: Aquaman is able to manipulate water to serve any number of uses, e.g. water blasts, whips, waves, shields, or waterspouts to lift him into the air. He can manipulate water from a nearby source, like fire hydrants, lakes, etc. or his water pack. His water blasts are capable of slicing through metal and other materials. Hard-water constructs: Aquaman has the unique ability to solidify water into a myriad of different weapons for physical attacks. So far he has created swords, maces, sledgehammers, a small shield, and a large eel. This ability, like his hydrokinesis and electricity generation, is powered by his eel tattoos. Translation spell: Aquaman can cast a spell which makes an individual speak and understand Atlantean instantly. An incantation is required to use a spell.[73] Abilities: Expert hand-to-hand combatant: Aquaman is extremely skilled in combat, able to hold his own against Cheshire[24] and has taken down Superboy with little to no effort before.[3] Multilingualism: Aquaman can speak Atlantean and English.[6] Likely as an extension of his home language, he has some fluency in Ancient Greek and Modern Greek.[88] Equipment: Water Pack: A black metallic backpack that holds an unspecified amount of water that Aqualad can use. It also holds his Water-Bearers. Water-Bearers:[9] Twin hilts that can hold onto water which Aquaman then uses to create his hard-water weapons. They are also used as a type of water gun to shoot water from his water pack and can be used to help manipulate sources of water.[6] Stealth-tech: Technology that is integrated into a piece of clothing and can shift the color of that clothing from the original color to a darker color. Aquaman can access it by pressing the "A" belt buckle on his waist, his "blend" color is dark gray/blue and green.[13] Darkwear[74] Former equipment: Black Manta armor: After defecting from the Team, he joined his father and received an armor nearly identical to Manta's. It has plasma blasts in the helmet and rocket launchers. Since rejoining the Team he has discarded this armor in favor of his original suit.[3] Helmet of Fate: Due to desperation, Aqualad wore the helmet to help the Team survive their fight against the Injustice League. Thanks to Kent Nelson, Nabu freed Aqualad and let him take off the helmet.[42] Weaknesses: Dehydration: As his natural habitat is underwater, Aquaman is weakened when exposed to high temperatures[33] and dry conditions.[29] Relationships: Aquaman: Being the King of Atlantis's partner, Kaldur saw Aquaman as a ruler, a mentor, and a father figure.[12] Aquaman had known about his true parentage but hadn't told him. When Nightwing told Aquaman that Kaldur had defected to the Light, at first, he refused to believe it. However, when he met face-to-face with his former apprentice, he was saddened to learn that it had been true.[3] To improve his cover, the "former" Aqualad expressed resentment towards his former mentor for lying to him for so many years and used this as a reason for "hatred" towards him.[3][54] Robin/Nightwing: When the time came for the Team to choose a field leader, Robin initially saw himself as the most appropriate leader of the Team, citing his greater experience despite being the youngest member of the Team. However, Aqualad explained that Robin's experience and his strong working relationship with Batman meant that Robin assumed his teammates could follow his plans without much explanation, whereas the Team really needed a leader who would be clear. Robin instead suggested that Aqualad should be the Team's leader, and Aqualad accepted. Nevertheless, Aqualad claimed that Robin was a natural leader and believed he would one day be ready to take control of the Team.[13] Kaldur and Nightwing remained on strong terms, and forged, in secret, a plot to infiltrate the Light and to figure out who their new Partner is. They had trust in each other, though they both knew they endangered themselves and others like Artemis.[54] When Aqualad's deep cover mission ended, he returned to the Team, where Nightwing humbly offered to return command of the Team back over to Aqualad. Kaldur thought it was unnecessary,[60] though soon accepted his leadership status back.[61] After Wally's death, Kaldur objected against Nightwing's resignation. Nightwing corrected him and stated that he was only taking a leave of absence, Aqualad understood his wanting to be away from the hero lifestyle for a while and continued to lead the Team.[61] Superboy: Aqualad and Superboy are very close, as Superboy admires Aqualad's serenity.[89] This involved actively persuading Superboy to care more about his surroundings. Aqualad picked up on Superboy and Miss Martian being a couple early on, noting it made sense.[37] While Aqualad was undercover, Superboy was greatly devastated that he was seemingly a traitor and nearly attacked him in anger but was repelled. However, they reconciled with the truth was revealed. Kaldur took Superboy's death very hard, unable to properly execute missions until he got closure. However, he was greatly relieved to discover his survival and joined in the mission to retrieve him from the The Phantom Zone but Superboy fell under the sway of Dru-Zod. Black Manta: Black Manta is Kaldur'ahm's biological father. Kaldur was originally unaware of his true parentage, believing himself to be the son of Manta's former henchman, Calvin Durham. As part of his cover, Kaldur pretended to be a loyal son to Manta, and with Nightwing's help, he hoped to cement his father's trust in him to reveal information about the Light and their new partner. When Kaldur's mind was damaged by Miss Martian, Black Manta displayed the utmost concern for son, to the extent where he kidnapped Miss Martian and demanded that she repair his son's mind. Their relationship was crippled when the Light discovered Aqualad's true intentions. Initially, Black Manta was shocked and saddened by this revelation, he still protected him from Black Beetle though his feelings towards his son quickly turned sour. Although Kaldur's heroic nature conflicts with Black Manta's villainous attitude, he still sees nobility in his father and was saddened at having to defeat him. Miss Martian: Kaldur'ahm was Miss Martian's teammate and an earnest friend. He sometimes helped her with unfamiliar aspects of Earth culture. Miss Martian has mentioned that she looked at Kaldur like an older brother. When Aqualad infiltrated the Light and "killed" Artemis, Miss Martian was saddened by his actions. She soon encountered him on the Reach's ship, where she condemned him as a murderer for his actions and used a mental blast on him. She was shocked to discover that he was really undercover and that Artemis was still alive which left her in a heartbroken and guilt-ridden state. Not long after, Miss Martian was kidnapped by Manta and forced to undo her damage, she apologized to him for what she had done and he forgave her. After his mind was restored, they worked on a way to save her and were successful. The friendship between them was restored over the next two years and both formed the secret "Anti-Light" team among other leaders, but they also displayed concern and reservations about their actions. Garth: Kaldur was best friends with Garth back in Atlantis and they along with Tula trained together at the Conservatory of Sorcery under Queen Mera. When Kaldur'ahm became Aquaman's protégé he left his studies and carried out his responsibilities as Aqualad, and later joined the Team. During this time, Garth and Tula began dating, which hurt Kaldur who also had feelings for Tula. Their friendship was strained but they eventually reconciled.[6] Tula: Tula was Kaldur'ahm's first crush, a classmate from the Conservatory of Sorcery. After Kaldur became Aqualad and left for the surface, Tula began seeing Garth. Unaware, Aqualad thought long of Tula and considered leaving the Team for her. He eventually accepted their relationship.[6] Tula's death during a mission for the Team took a heavy toll on him. It was one of the reasons to quit the Team, along with the revelation of his parentage.[50][3] Wyynde: Though they were initially enemies due to the purist crisis,[1] they became lovers in time.[73] Kaldur has not defined his sexuality yet. He has dated several people, but he has only been in love with Tula and Wyynde.[90] Flash (real name Barry Allen) is a superhero speedster from Central City and a founding member of the Justice League.[4] He is the former mentor of his nephew, Wally West and later his grandson, Bart Allen. He is called the "Fastest Man Alive", and the second person to have taken up the identity of the Flash, the first being Jay Garrick. Personality: Although not much has been revealed about Barry Allen, he has so far demonstrated to be one of the more approachable members of the Justice League. Laid back and witty, he takes every possible moment to talk. He has a habit of being late to important events, which often annoys Kid Flash to no end.[3] He is kindhearted and well-mannered, something Wally's parents wish would rub off on their son as well.[5] Physical appearance: Flash has short blond hair and green eyes. His superhero costume is a full-body suit that is all red, but has two small yellow lightning bolts across the waist and wrists. Like Kid Flash, he also has the yellow lightning bolt logo on his chest and boots. As for normal clothing, he wears an olive green shirt with a red sweater vest and a black tie with khaki pants and black shoes. Powers and abilities: Powers: Super speed: He can move at speeds approaching the speed of light.[45] This speed extends to his speech and perception, enabling him to speak at higher frequencies and see objects at speeds far higher than what the typical human eye could perceive.[35] Molecular vibration: He is capable of moving his molecules at high enough frequencies to vibrate through other matter.[46] Accelerated healing: Flash heals faster than the average human.[47] Aerokinesis: Flash can use his speed to manipulate air currents and create vortexes that can levitate and/or suffocate others.[48] Abilities: Forensics: Barry has a degree in forensic science, and works as a CSI for the Central City Police Department.[6] He and the Atom analyzed the Reach's additive, finding microscopic quantities of a dopamine polymerase and an adrenaline inhibitor to gradually pacify Earth's population.[49] Equipment: Costume ring: Flash stores his costume in a special ring, and changes at super speed.[35] Relationships: Iris West-Allen: Iris is Barry's wife since 2006.[17] They share a happy marriage,[5] and they are expecting twins in 2016.[35] Iris knows her husband is the Flash.[7] Kid Flash (Wally West): Wally was Barry's nephew, through Barry's marriage to his wife Iris.[50] Though they were not blood related, their family relationship allowed for the two of them to interact in a more friendly and less formal manner than the other sidekicks and mentors did.[5] However, while Barry was more laid back and easy going, Wally seemed to get impatient with his mentor.[3] He was devastated by his nephew's sacrifice and honored him by telling Artemis that Wally loved her. Jay Garrick Jay Garrick is a "retired speedster" who was in fact the original Flash and a member of the Justice Society of America. Barry was a devoted fan of the original Flash, and he spent hours talking to Garrick about his adventures. His enthusiasm extended to successfully being able to re-create his powers under laboratory conditions.[7] Jay and Barry, along with their families, were close friends.[5]
In the Young Justice animated series, the "Team" is a group of young heroes performing covert operations for the Justice League. Over four seasons, the roster has grown significantly, evolving from a core group of sidekicks into a sophisticated network of heroes.
The Founding Members These heroes formed the original covert ops team in Season 1:
Dick Grayson (Robin/Nightwing): The pragmatic and calculating protégé of Batman.
