Premise

Victory was impossible. But with Eternal Night spreading from Nyxastra's awakening, the Icefang Coalition had no choice. They offered every boon imaginable to the adventurer party that could calm the Great Dragon of Dream, summoning the strongest and most desperate of adventurer parties to Frosthide.

Whether your party was competent, desperate, or something in between, they are now neither. They have become spellbound by the Great Dragon's haze of eternal nightmare. Preserved but trapped.

The Duchess of Desire & Dark Dreams: Nyxastra

One of the most powerful Dragons in Dragonthaw, Nyxastra is a wild, destructive force of darkness. Embodying the night sky, madness, passion and dreams she knows every dream you've had. She has awoken from her centuries long slumber to spread more dreams with her Eternal Night. Coincidentally, she has received word that one of her least favorite dragons is getting married.

The Bronze Balwark: Barathos

The groom to be, Barathos is an enforcer of draconic law and fossilized traditionalist. A tectonic drake carved from earth, when he emerged from his millennial slumber beneath a glacier, he found his bride to be attempting to shatter her own frozen lake (and herself with it) out of terminal boredom. Rather than let her destroy herself, he offered her purpose: the ancient Rite of Consummate Binding, believing a formal union would "stabilize" her chaotic nature. As far as Nxyastra is concerned, this Consummate is just a different kind of death for his bride.

The Bored Bride: Aqueya

Aqueya is the embodiment of seasonal cycles: freezing and melting, change and constancy. When the Icefang Coalition froze her lake for permanent habitation, she found herself trapped in permanent stasis. Her worshipers dwindled and her purpose was lost. Barathos then offered her salvation: the Rite of Consummate Binding to seal her chaotic nature within his unchanging law, creating a permanent alliance between ice and stone. She agreed to his bindings because it meant something happening. But now, she realizes "something" is just another form of "nothing," and the wedding is here. She cannot out swim it by herself.

You are someone hired by the Icefang Coalition to defeat the Great Dragon Nyxastra. Maybe you're a warrior, a silver tongued bard, a tag along, or someone else completely different.

It does not matter in the wake of a Great Dragon.

The World of Dragonthaw

Legend has it that the continent of Dragonthaw grew from the body of a dragon that collided with a sphere of ice. To this day, Fire's Gout spews fire into the ocean, and the steam of its breath roils rain and clouds from the ice onto the continent, bringing life to the verdant forests of Greenridge, and bringing snow to the dual peaks of Mountaintwin.

Don't bother adventuring beyond the ice. There is only cold and hardship out in the ice, and the continent itself is danger enough, filled with mystical spirits and wild beasts.

Danger like a Great Dragon who turns seduction on its head.
