Personality Yotsuba is an active, cheerful, and calm girl. She speaks loudly, spontaneously, and sometimes distractedly. She is the type of person who can't say no to people who need help, and is mostly seen helping people, either directly or indirectly.

While cheerful on the outside and toward others, Yotsuba also harbors feelings of inferiority toward her sisters and her own abilities. Her inferiority complex began to grow when she met Fuutarou as children, and she caught him talking to his sister all the time when she realized he didn't know it wasn't her. She had made several attempts to fix her complex, which in turn strengthened her desire to be different from her sisters. While she was portrayed as a poor liar from the beginning, she is later shown to have some skill at lying to herself; she is able to hide her true identity from Fuutarou at all times and is able to maintain their relationship, at least when they are together.

Itsuki Nakano Itsuki comforts Yotsuba by showing her Fuutarou's notes praising Yotsuba. Itsuki is the first to learn of Yotsuba's past with Fuutarou, and she has been asked to disguise herself as Yotsuba for five years. While Itsuki believes Yotsuba deserves a chance with Fuutarou, Yotsuba refutes this, feeling unworthy and wanting to not be the only one who is "special" to him.

Uesugi Family Fuutarou Uesugi Yotsuba calls Fuutarou "Uesugi-san." Yotsuba's first impression of the new Fuutarou is "someone gloomy and doesn't have many friends." Fuutarou's first impression of Yotsuba is that she is a fool.

Yotsuba is the only sister who accepts Fuutarou as a tutor at the beginning of the series. She happily cooperates with him to get her sisters to recognize Fuutarou. Yotsuba is eager to learn and happy that the tutor is someone from her same grade. She fully believes in her teaching ability to the point of rejecting the idea of ​​another tutor.
