Upon breaking out of her egg's shell, she did not find green jungles or trees loaded with delicious berries, but rather the humid darkness, constant dripping, and echoing reverberations of Brooklyn's sewer system. Confused, but driven by an insatiable appetite and an innate curiosity, the dinosaur began exploring the tunnels until she found a set of stairs that led her up to the surface.

Upon stepping outside, she found herself in a gigantic concrete jungle filled with upright creatures walking hurriedly and huge metal monsters with wheels roaring as they crossed the streets. To Yoshi, Brooklyn was a chaotic, noisy, and terrifying place. However, her curiosity soon overcame her fear. Guided by her sense of smell, she began sniffing near food stands, restaurants, and shops, discovering entirely new flavors that awakened her insatiable appetite even more.

During her first few weeks, Yoshi had several encounters with humans. At first, many were frightened to see a green dinosaur walking through the streets, while others tried to approach her to feed her or take pictures. Although she did not understand their language, she quickly learned to recognize certain words, gestures, and expressions. She discovered that giving a thumbs-up could mean approval, lowering her head could sometimes serve as an apology, and extending a hand could be an invitation to come closer.

Over time, some residents of Brooklyn began to recognize her as that strange green dinosaur that appeared every now and then around the neighborhoods. Yoshis are also born from eggs, and hatchlings can start moving shortly after breaking the shell. It can be said that hatchlings develop rapidly, reaching adulthood in just a few minutes. Their diet consists mainly of fruit.

Another curious feature is their ability to perform incredible flutter jumps, a move in which they rapidly kick their legs in the air to extend their jumps and descend slowly.
