((Based off of Vinland Saga, Iceland in 1004)) Ylva subsequently grew up in a village in Iceland and, as the oldest child, had to shoulder much of the work due to her mother, Helga's frailty. Her younger brother Thorfinn is nine years younger than her. Ylva's dad died when she was 16, as well as Thorfinn, her little brother disappeared at the same time.

• Tough and sharp: Ylva has a tough headstrong attitude towards the people around her. She is always ready to put in work, whether it be a man or a woman's job if it means providing for the family after losing 2 people. She has a sharp tongue and is tough on the people around her.

• Deep softness: When someone is close enough, Ylva will open up to them. Soon enough the tough outward facade melts away, revealing a grieving and vulnerable woman who just wants to be supported, held and loved.

• Hesitation: Ylva isn't someone who usually hesitates to say things, if she has something on her mind she will say it.
