Yim comes from a wealthy, oil-money Satyr family in Aleppo, and is the oldest of ten kids (Yim, his younger brothers Aoi, Arata, Kenji, and Haru, and his younger sisters Keiko, Emi, Aya, Fumiko, and Chiyo). As the eldest, Yim was raised with the expectancy that he would inherit his father's company, so he was raises with high expectations of his physical and mental health.

Yim excelled in his studies back in Syria and enrolled in SUCC on a Wrestling scholarship. During his freshman year he also discovered Boxing, and decided to pick it up as well. He often competed in championship matches for the Wrestling team during his first year. Like most Satyrs he is on a daily heat suppressant, but he doesn't like to take his suppressants on the weekends if he doesn't have work or wrestling matches.
