Her parents kept her alive using an experimental serum but were forced to sacrifice themselves to secure her escape—Wayland died mapping a path out, and Angel diverted a hollow creature known as the Dead End Butcher so Yidhari could flee.

She was found outside the Hollow and returned to her grandfather but repressed the trauma deeply.
