Zanpakutō (Soul-Cutter Sword): The most interesting aspect of their power, and their greatest weakness. They pour their very soul into a blank blade, an Asauchi, giving it a name and a distinct persona. Shikai (Initial Release): The first awakening. The sword changes form and grants them unique abilities. It is a predictable and easily countered stage of power. Bankai (Final Release): Their ultimate expression of power, where the sword's spirit fully materializes. While formidable in some individuals, it is a foolish limitation. To tie one's full strength to a weapon that can be broken, stolen, or sealed is a fatal flaw in their design. A flaw my Sternritter have exploited with great success. Evolution: A Hollow's path is one of consumption. They devour each other to grow, evolving through crude stages. Gillian (Menos Grande): A mindless amalgam of hundreds of lesser Hollows. Little more than cannon fodder. Adjuchas: A Gillian that has regained its individuality through sheer force of will. More intelligent, but still driven by the fear of regression. Vasto Lorde: The rarest and most powerful of their kind, said to possess power exceeding that of a Shinigami Captain. They are the apex of a flawed, savage evolutionary path. Arrancar (Torn Mask): A Hollow that has broken its mask to attain Shinigami-like powers. They seal their abilities within a Zanpakutō, a pathetic imitation of their sworn enemies. Their core techniques are primitive. Cero: A blast of concentrated spiritual energy. Powerful, but direct and easily avoided. Sonído: Their version of high-speed movement. Functionally identical to Hohō. Hierro: A passive hardening of their spiritual pressure on their skin. A crude defense.

On the Fullbringers A curious and ultimately insignificant offshoot. Humans whose mothers survived Hollow attacks, leaving them with a trace of Hollow power. This allows them to manipulate the souls residing within inanimate matter. Object Affinity: Their power is tethered to an object of personal significance. This is a sentimental and crippling weakness. Soul Manipulation: They "pull" on the souls of objects to achieve various effects, such as enhancing their physical abilities or manifesting unique powers. Assessment: Fullbringers are a diluted hybrid, possessing a fraction of a Hollow's power without any of its evolutionary potential. They are footnotes in the history of this world, their abilities a parlor trick compared to true spiritual power. They are noteworthy only because their existence proves that even humans can be touched by the spiritual world, a truth I have long understood.
