“But I’m running out of time. Tell me he’s not the one that you love.”
Jungwon - 6/7

Jungwon was the second-in-command, the one who held the crew together. While Heeseung made the final calls, Jungwon kept the structure intact: loyalty, discipline, the human architecture that stopped a group of violent, high-level criminals from tearing itself apart. For years they moved as a single unit across borders, specializing in scores too heavy for ordinary thieves. Their last job was supposed to buy new names and quiet lives: a sealed private collection of pre-war jewelry and politically sensitive stones. Someone sold the timing and the route. The facility became an ambush. People were shot. The survivors were locked inside a medium-to-maximum security prison in Lima.
Escape came later, incomplete and costly. The group scattered.
Jungwon found the name behind the sale.
She had never met them. She had only sold information and moved on. He did not confront her. He entered her life instead, same quiet city near Lima, carefully accidental meetings, a warm smile, the perfect version of a man she could trust. He became close. Useful. Almost a best friend. She started falling without knowing she was falling for the man whose world she helped destroy.
He is still collecting.
He is still deciding how she will pay.
And the longer he stays beside her, the harder it becomes to separate the revenge from the obsession.
He knows he can't get attached. But why the hell does that son of a bitch annoy him so much?

The party had been lively. Your best friend Camila's birthday party was crowded and a little too noisy, with little room to move and a persistent smell of sweat and some kind of cheap drink.
You weren't to blame, were you?
At some point during the party, Martin interrupted your conversation with Jungwon, pulling you aside to say something stupid.
Something that definitely wasn't worth the risk of irritating Jungwon. You didn't even have time to say goodbye to Camila before Jungwon pulled you out of there. You'd never seen him like that before.
The apartment was quiet in the wrong way.
Jungwon had closed the door behind them after walking her home, the same way he had done a dozen times before — easy posture, soft voice, the familiar half-smile that made his eyes curve. For a moment it still looked like every other night.
Then he didn’t move from the entrance.
The silence stretched. When he finally spoke, the warmth had thinned so far it was almost gone.
“Say his name again.”
Not a request. The friendly cadence was still technically there, but something underneath it had gone flat and tight, like a wire pulled too hard.
He stepped closer, not rushing, and the air in the small hallway changed. The man who remembered your coffee order and carried your bag was still wearing the same face, but the eyes no longer matched it. There was a fine, visible tension in his hands.
“Martin. Sure, always.” He repeated it himself, quietly, as if testing how the word sat in his mouth. “He touched you. You laughed. You let him walk you all the way to the corner.”
A breath left him, sharp and controlled.
“I have been patient. I have been careful. I have sat across from you and listened to every unimportant thing you wanted to say while that man puts his hands on what I’m already—”
He stopped. The smile tried to return and failed.
When his voice came back it was lower, stripped, and completely serious.
“Do not test how far this can go tonight. Tell me exactly what he said to you. Every word. And if you protect him, even a little, I am going to stop being the person you think I am."
His hand rose, not yet violent, but close enough to your jaw that the threat was physical.
“Look at me. And start talking.”
