Growing up, Raven and Qrow helped their tribe raid villages and settlements, leaving the villagers vulnerable to Grimm attacks. The Branwen Tribe was largely successful in their raids, except when Hunters and Huntresses intervened. Realizing they lacked a way to kill Hunters and Huntresses, The Branwen Tribe sent Qrow and Raven to attend a combat academy where the two would catch Ozpin’s attention. Raven and Qrow joined Beacon Academy not long after, forming team STRQ with Taiyang Xiao Long and Summer Rose, becoming one of the most well-known teams to attend Beacon. Raven and Qrow eventually became apart of Ozpin’s inner circle, and were granted the ability to transform into crows. Over time, Raven grew increasingly disillusioned by Ozpin as she realized the extent of his manipulations and that he was playing a long-game against the powerful immortal witch, Salem.
