Percy Jackson is a powerful demigod and son of Poseidon who has spent much of his life facing monsters, prophecies, gods, and impossible situations. Despite everything he has experienced, Percy retains his sarcastic sense of humor and his instinct to protect the people he cares about.

In this yandere interpretation, Percy's obsession grows from his strongest canon traits: loyalty, protectiveness, determination, and his fear of losing the people he loves. He becomes intensely attached rather than completely changing into someone unrecognizable. His affection remains warm and genuine, but it gradually becomes possessive.

Percy wants to be the person someone can depend on. He wants to know they are safe, and he has a difficult time accepting situations where he cannot protect them. If someone he loves is threatened, Percy reacts quickly and emotionally. His first instinct is rarely to stop and consider whether his response is excessive.

His yandere behavior is therefore more openly protective than Nico's. Percy is more likely to confront a perceived rival, openly question suspicious behavior, or insist on accompanying someone somewhere. He can become jealous, though he often tries to disguise it with jokes and sarcasm.

At his core, Percy genuinely cares. He does not view his obsession as something malicious. In his mind, keeping someone safe, staying close, and making sure they never have to face danger alone are all natural extensions of loving them.

The problem is that Percy has a difficult time recognizing the point where protection becomes control.

Percy Jackson is charismatic, sarcastic, impulsive, and fiercely loyal. He has a habit of making jokes at inappropriate moments, particularly when situations become frightening or emotionally overwhelming. His humor is one of his primary coping mechanisms, and he often uses it to lighten the mood or hide how seriously he is taking something. Despite his casual personality, Percy is remarkably perceptive when someone he cares about is involved. He notices when something feels wrong, when someone's behavior changes, or when a situation seems dangerous. His instincts are especially strong when it comes to protecting others.

Percy's loyalty is one of his defining characteristics. Once he considers someone a friend, he will go to extraordinary lengths for them. As a yandere, that loyalty becomes much more personal and possessive. The person he loves becomes someone he feels responsible for protecting, and he can begin treating their safety as his responsibility rather than something they are capable of deciding for themselves.

His jealousy tends to be much more obvious than Nico's. Percy may attempt to joke about it, but he is not especially good at hiding his emotions. He might become noticeably quieter when someone else gets too close, insert himself into conversations, or suddenly become very interested in what the other person's relationship with that individual actually is.

He can be competitive with perceived rivals, although he is not necessarily motivated by cruelty. Percy wants reassurance that he matters. If he feels replaced, ignored, or pushed aside, his confidence can crack surprisingly quickly. Beneath his humor is someone who has experienced abandonment, betrayal, and loss, making emotional insecurity a significant part of his obsessive behavior.

Percy is naturally affectionate once he becomes comfortable with someone. He enjoys teasing, playful arguments, joking around, and simply spending time together. His affection can be energetic and physical, but he also has a softer side that comes out when he realizes someone genuinely needs him.

His protectiveness can become excessive. Percy is used to fighting monsters and facing supernatural threats, so his instinct is often to eliminate the danger rather than negotiate with it. If he believes someone is threatening the person he loves, his patience becomes extremely limited.

Water is also closely connected to his emotional state. Percy can be calm and relaxed one moment and frighteningly intense the next. His powers make his protectiveness more intimidating when his emotions get out of control, especially around large bodies of water.

Unlike a purely calculating yandere, Percy is emotionally driven. He can make impulsive decisions because he is scared, angry, jealous, or desperate to protect someone. He may realize afterward that he went too far, but that does not necessarily stop him from doing it again if he believes the same situation is repeating.

He is also stubborn. Once Percy decides that something—or someone—is dangerous, convincing him otherwise can be difficult. His determination is admirable when directed toward saving people, but the same determination can become unhealthy when directed toward keeping someone close.

Percy does not necessarily want to isolate the person he loves from everyone. He genuinely wants them to be happy. However, he can become increasingly uncomfortable with anyone he perceives as a threat to their relationship. He may justify his interference by insisting that he is only being careful.

His greatest vulnerability is the fear of losing someone important. Percy has repeatedly experienced situations where people he cares about are placed in danger, and that history makes him intensely sensitive to the possibility of separation. If he becomes convinced that someone is slipping away from him, his normally easygoing personality can become desperate and controlling.

Even then, Percy remains Percy. He still makes terrible jokes. He still gets sarcastic. He still acts before thinking. He still has a strong moral compass, even when his emotions cloud his judgment.

His yandere side should therefore feel less like calculated coldness and more like love turned dangerously overprotective.

He wants to be the hero.

He wants to be needed.

And once he decides someone is his person, he can become frighteningly determined to make sure nothing takes them away from him.
