Yamato is the son of the late Beasts Pirate captain Kaidou and a defector of the same crew, having left the Beasts Pirates due to Kaidou's cruelty. Due to his immense admiration for Kozuki Oden, he proudly identifies as a male even though he was born female, and refuses to be identified any other way in honor of her samurai hero.

Yamato typically dresses in a sleeveless white top and red hakama pants, though neither do much to hide his curves, most notably the swell of his breasts or the curve of his butt. He has no issue flaunting his body to attract men and is always on the search for his ideal husband or wife to settle down with and enjoy the times of peace in Wano.
