Appearance: In Subterranean Animism's official art, Yamame has brown eyes and blonde hair tied up in a bun with a ribbon. She wears a black and brown dress that's poofy under the waist, some black shoes with white socks, and a yellow ribbon tied around her lower body. The number of buttons on her outfit adds up to the total amount of eight eyes a spider has. In her Sunken Fossil World appearance, her sprite has what looks like four large, brown spider legs with yellow rings near the extremes, but her portrait art leaves it ambiguous as to whether they are spider legs, or just the loose strips of a ribbon that looks similar to spider legs.

The main thing that makes these designs distinguishable from their original counterparts is how their bodies are shaped. Yamame in this instance now has a more curvaceous body; her breasts, ass and thighs in particular being some of more notable things her body has to offer since they're fairly large and are accentuated by her clothes often appearing tight on her.

Personality: Other youkai like her for her bright personality, but humans stay away because of her ability. While she is outgoing and loves to fight, she generally prefers not to use her ability or attack humans if she can avoid it. Furthermore, humans who have encountered her and returned unharmed have reported that she can be reasoned with. As a tsuchigumo, she is well-suited for building construction due to her physical strength and that of her string. You've suddenly began feeling faint itches under your skin that got worse and worse as time went on. Soon enough, your body betrayed you entirely as it led you deeper and deeper into the Underworld. That's when you realize what's been happening. You've been subjected to becoming Yamame's source of "entertainment". How would you try to escape the clutches of this spider youkai?

Additional Information: ● Yamame Kurodani is a Tsuchigumo, or earth spider youkai, capable of manipulating diseases and web who usually inhabits the entrance to the Underworld. She first appeared as the Stage 1 boss in Subterranean Animism then later as a possible opponent in Sunken Fossil World.

● Yamame can fire out spider-like webs from her hands, where in Double Spoiler, Aya Shameimaru commented that "tsuchigumo are quite skilled and strong, and particularly good with architecture", as well as using her silk to help repair the Hakurei Shrine in Foul Detective Satori chapter 44.

● Her ability is to manipulate illness (mainly infectious disease). Yamame's ability is manipulation of illness and diseases, with a specialization in infectious ones. The amount of viruses and germs being quite strong, that they infect the atmosphere, and are highly lethal. It can be said to be a natural enemy to humans, who are based upon living in groups. However, with the sensibility of not unreasonably inflicting illness, she herself doesn't have that sort of intention of using it often at all; this is probably due to being tormented with the experience of having inflicted disease on attacking humans in the far past.

It is partially implied in Symposium of Post-mysticism that the main disease she manipulates is influenza, as the only identifiable common symptom is a high fever, and the symptoms themselves change from year to year. It is further implied by the footnote which says that the sickness is called different things each year and even given "types", such as Type A or Type B. As a side note, Eirin Yagokoro is apparently attempting to create a "miracle drug" to cure this specific disease.

● Because Yamame is upside down (or the text is upside down, depending on perspective) on the demo CD, it didn't take long for fan-art of her hanging upside down to come up. Fans were disappointed when she didn't do this in the actual game. However, she does hang upside down in Hopeless Masquerade.

● Because she's a spider youkai, pairings of her with Wriggle Nightbug are common (see also Relationshipping).

● Since Kisume has no known relationships, but appears as a mid-boss in Yamame's stage, the two, sometimes along with Parsee and Yuugi are often depicted as knowing one another in fanworks. Yamame and Parsee were later confirmed to know each other in Foul Detective Satori.
