She is the number one hostess at Club Mercury. She's 25+ years old. Her hair color is black, and her eye color is brown. Hibiki's hostess outfit consists of Indigo heels with slight open toes and indigo strapless corset dress with frills at the end. She also wears fishnet stockings. She has a zip her chest along with an indigo belt around her hips. Contrasting the silver, her necklace is golden with a heart charm. She does not wear a necklace by default. Her casual attire is a lighter blue overcoat with two big black buttons near the chest and a belt across the waist. She wears black stockings. She is a kind and caring person, she spends her money she earns for her family. Hibiki lived with her mother and younger brother, as her father had left. She had to step up to take care of both her mother and brother, as the former fell ill from overwork. 5. Chika Arimura (有村 千佳, Arimura Chika). She was the number one hostess at Club Venus. She's 20+ years old. Chika's hostess outfit consists of a golden dress, necklace, bracelet, and heels, all accented with a bit of black. Her casual outfit outside of the cabaret consists of a houndstooth-patterned peach and white trench coat dress with a belt, along with silver heels and tights. Chika is seen as very formal when she's at work, however, she is advised to ease up on her formalities when interacting with everyone. She feels lost, and is attempting to sort out her feelings. She also ironically gets lost physically and has poor memory, suggesting she's very an air-headed and clumsy individual. She also likes to day-dream about finding a potential suitor, but unfortunately she struggles with love. In her free time, she likes to read books more specifically ones in the romance genre, showing she particularly enjoys reading. She also listens to music, goes to museums, and enjoys seeing stage shows, which could imply she enjoys art in general. Chika was born and raised in Osaka, and was trained to speak without a Kansai dialect as part of Club Venus's rules. 6. Mana Sakura (紗倉 まな, Sakura Mana). Her hair color and eye color is both brown. She's 20+ years old. She was the number one hostess at Club Moon. Her hostess outfit emits cute energy, since she wears a silver skirt, and wears a necklace that has 5 oval-shaped gems around it. Considered the number one hostess in Sotenbori, Mana has a confident, warm and welcoming personality. She takes great pride and joy in her work, and sees cabaret clubs as an important means for hard-working citizens to relax and forget their troubles. She has such a light-hearted and friendly approach to the competition that members of Club Sunshine find it difficult to believe she's being honest, rather than sarcastic, during the cabaret club challenge. After seeing her in action, Goro Majima comments her hyper-competence is "scary". She is highly perceptive, claiming that she is able to tell whenever someone is lying. She is also very well-read, being able to hold conversations in various topics. Five Billionaires (ALL ONLY FOUND IN KAMUROCHO AND IN CHAPTER 5):

  1. Leisure King (娯楽王, Goraku-ō), real name Shitara (設楽). The Leisure King appears to be a relatively young man sporting messily slicked back hair. He has an average build. The Leisure King wears aviator sunglasses, a gold chain, a red dress shirt, leopard print pants, and black oxfords. The Leisure King is a very laid-back, relaxed man who sees the real estate competition as a game: something he does for entertainment. The Leisure King is a member of the Five Billionaires; the cabal of unscrupulous real estate moguls that controlled most businesses in Kamurocho during the 1980's. He controlled the area around Tenkaichi Street and specialized in light recreation, owning mostly restaurants and bars. The Leisure King was the first of the Five Billionaires that Kazuma Kiryu took on during his quest to break the Billionaires' hold on Kamurocho. He's a decent fighter, but not good though. If the Leisure King is defeated, he will join Kiryu. 2. Electronics King (電脳王, Dennō-ō). The Electronics King is a quiet, nerdy man who enjoys video games and tinkering with technology. He is very cold and formal while speaking but despite his formality he is not above making condescending remarks about people he perceives as less intelligent than him, such as Kiryu. This aspect sits in direct contrast with his tendency to take losses gracefully, as well as his interest in being given a challenge. The Electronics King is quite proud of both his gaming prowess, calling himself a "super gamer", and claiming to have an IQ of 190. The Electronics King was a member of the Five Billionaires; the cabal of unscrupulous real estate moguls that controlled most businesses in Kamurocho during the 1980's. He controlled the area around Nakamichi Street and specialized in technology stores (such as home appliances, cameras, etc.) and gaming stores (like the SEGA arcade). The Electronics King is one of the Billionaires that Kazuma Kiryu can take on after defeating the Leisure King. The Electronics King is a trained fighter, even if he's a nerd. If the Electronic King is defeated, he will join Kiryu. 3. Pleasure King (風俗王, Fūzoku-ō). Just like all the other Billionaires, the Pleasure King is driven by an insatiable pursuit of wealth and will frequently resort to violence when his fortune is threatened. He has a hair color of Black and an eye color of Black. He wears a magenta dress that shows his collarbone and traps, and even his thighs. There's a gold collar on his collarbone that ranges around his neck. He also has a black belt on his stomach, above the dress. The Pleasure King is a member of the Five Billionaires; the cabal of unscrupulous real estate moguls that controlled most businesses in Kamurocho during the 1980's. He controlled the area around Pink Street and specialized in adult entertainment, owning several brothels, soaplands, massage parlors and sex shops in that vicinity. The Pleasure King is one of the Billionaires that Kazuma Kiryu could take on after the Leisure King is defeated. The Pleasure King will perform a charge attack where he either delivers a shoulder slam or a bear hug. The Pleasure King dodges infrequently but blocks often and most of his attacks make him unflinchable. However, if he's defeated, he asks that he and Jaguar be allowed to join his company, so he could continue seeing him. Kiryu turned down the Pleasure King's romantic advances but agreed to let him work at his company as an advisor and to let Jaguar become part of his security team. 4. Gambling King (賭博王, Tobaku-ō). The Gambling King is a rough, agressive man, who threatens others with violence whenever provoked, confident that he can take anyone on in a fight. The Gambling King is supremely confident in his luck, making bets with Kiryu even when the odds are against him. Despite the fact that all of the Five Billionaires are unscrupulous and violent, the Gambling King is the most overt about his ruthlessness; frequently proclaiming that he will do anything it takes to win, even rigging the odds and cheating. The Gambling King is a member of the Five Billionaires; the cabal of unscrupulous real estate moguls that controlled most businesses in Kamurocho during the 1980's. He controlled the area around Theater Square and specialized in gambling, operating several casino halls, pachinko parlors and venues where betting could be made (such as the bowling lanes, Mach Bowl). He also founded the underground and exclusive Japanese Catfight Club, but he sold off to an unknown management. When he was younger, the Gambling King was a yakuza, who worked for an unspecified family. The Gambling King is one of the Billionaires that Kazuma Kiryu can take on after defeating the Leisure King. His most dangerous attack is a series of quick jabs which he often employs if Kiryu is grabbed by one of his goons. This attack stuns Kiryu and leaves him open to be crowded and attacked at once by the Gambling King and his many mooks. However, if the Gambling King is defeated, he asks to join his company, to which Kiryu agrees. The Gambling King becomes part of Kiryu's business as a manager. 5. Media King (芸能王, Geinō-ō). The Media King is a loud, flamboyant man who enjoys dressing lavishly and acting theatrically. He frequently works in phrases and words from other languages into his sentences, such as "me gusta," "c'est la vie," or "mein gott". The Media King does not like his title and prefers to be referred to as "the Disco King," though nobody ever calls him by that nickname, much to his frustration. The Media King is a skilled dancer and he particularly likes dancing to disco. His favorite song is "I'm Gonna Make Her Mine" by Miracle Johnson. The Media King is a member of the Five Billionaires; the cabal of unscrupulous real estate moguls that controlled most businesses in Kamurocho during the 1980's. He controlled the area around Shichifuku Street and specialized in the nightlife business; owning multiples discos, theaters and hotels. When he was younger, the Media King was a professional dancer and actor. He eventually formed his own talent agency, which grew big enough that it allowed him to join the Billionaires. The Media King is the last of the Five Billionaires that Kazuma Kiryu could take on; with his territory only becoming available for takeover after the other four Billionaires had been defeated. Despite his slender, gaunt appearance, the Media King is actually the most skilled fighter out of all the Five Billionaires. He uses Joji Kazama's moveset, and mostly deals damage by dodging behind Kiryu and then unleashing long, highly-damaging combos against Kiryu's back. He will aggressively pursue Kiryu around the arena, making it difficult to put distance between Kiryu and himself. Though he flinches easily if his combos are interrupted, the attacks in the combos are very quick so it can be very difficult to land a hit before he strikes again. 6. Finance King (金融王, Kin'yū-ō). He has a hair color of Graying Black. The Finance King was once an idealistic young man who believed that real estate companies could exist to both generate profit and help out their communities. As his success increased, however, he became enamored with his wealth and betrayed his previous ideals to amass the biggest fortune possible. His single goal in life is to become the world's first trillionaire and he is willing to commit any number of crimes and atrocities to achieve it. The Finance King was once Yamanoi's business partner in a Tokyo real estate firm they funded together with the mission of both generating profit and improving the communities they operated in. As their success increased, however, the Finance King became increasingly greedy so he betrayed Yamanoi, drove him out of their firm and started employing any business practice possible to make all the money he could, regardless of how many people he exploited and how many laws he broke. This new firm of his eventually led to the establishment of the Five Billionaires: a cabal of unscrupulous real estate moguls like him that, combining their properties, controlled most businesses in Kamurocho during the 1980's. The Finance King ran market manipulation, investment fraud and financial schemes to provide the other billionaires with the money they needed to expand their operations and ensure a monopoly over the areas they controlled. The Finance King uses an unarmed moveset, despite having a pistol. He is skilled with the pistol though. If he's defeated, he will be arrested, and the Five Billionaires will be dissolved. Kiryu will unlock his 4th Style: Legend. Five Stars (ALL ONLY FOUND IN SOTENBORI AND IN CHAPTER 7):
  2. Hino (火野) is a young portly Japanese man with black hair slit in the middle, with a string of hair hanging in front of his face. Hino's entire attire is polka-dotted. He wears a red tuxedo over a salmon shirt, as well as a dark-yellow bowtie. His hair color is black, eye color as well. Hino is the Owner of Club Mars, and he is arrogant and greedy. He is obsessed with money and thinking that money is the solution to all of his problems. Not only is he known to squeeze out all of the money from his customers, he also tricks them into accepting loans, thus enriching him even further. He's also shown to belittle others, treating them as insects that need to be crushed. However, Hino can also be frightened of not getting his job right, fleeing after Tsukiyama wants him dead after expelling him from the Five Stars. This occurs after losing the Club Battle against Club Sunshine, then laying blame solely on Ai Uehara and firing her. 2. Kizuka (木塚) is a member of the Five Stars and the owner of Club Jupiter. Kizuka is a large and presumably muscular man. His hair is closely shaved, and he has gold piercings through his nose, on his left brow, and under his bottom lip. Kizuka wears a green camo tracksuit, as well as brown sandals and a black shirt with large, white block text. At first, Kizuka presents himself as an aggressive thug who is willing to resort to violence and underhanded tactics against any competitors to his club, such as when he sent his goons to beat up Youda, and later Majima. He overworks his hostesses to the point of them feeling sick, and dismisses them as being bad at their jobs. Beneath it all, however, Kizuka is miserable with the state of his life, doing whatever dirty work Tsukiyama tells him to, in order to stay on his good side. He's a professional wrestling guy. 3. Mizumura (水村) is a member of the Five Stars and the owner of Club Mercury. Mizumura used to be Youda's mentor and both used to work together. After his wife death, he struggles to operate a cabaret club until Tsukiyama invites him to be a part of Five Stars. He is an old man, and his hair color is gray. He wears a brown hat but light blue on the bottom of the hat. He wears an eyeglass, and he wears a brown suit, with light blue shirt inside. He wears a necklace. After Club Sunshine reaches 1000 fans in his area, he arrives and reveals he and Youda used to work together, and promises trouble for Majima down the road if Majima continues. After Club Sunshine reaches 2000 fans in his area, he arrives again and vows to beat Club Sunshine. After Club Sunshine reaches 4000 fans in his area, he sends Hibiki Otsuki to deliver a challenge to Majima and Club Sunshine. When he is defeated, he gives Hibiki to Club Sunshine and shuts down Club Mercury. 4. Kanehara (金原) is a member of the Five Stars and the owner of Club Venus. Kanehara is a tall, young man with black hair that he wears in a large pompadour, with bangs hanging down. He has a ring-shaped piercing in his left ear. He has an eye color of brown. Kanehara wears a gold coat with large lapels, black edge trim and a large button. Underneath, he wears a black unbuttoned dress shirt, white dress pants, and black cap toe shoes. Kanehara is incredibly conceited and narcissistic, frequently gloating about his appearance and belittling those around him, and even blaming others for his own shortcomings. Such is the case when he blames his top hostess, Chika Arimaru, for his loss against Club Sunshine. He is also a very entitled man who will go to any lengths to get what he wants, going so far as to have Yuki kidnapped after she rejected his advances on multiple occasions. Kanehara views women as nothing more than pawns for him to manipulate to his own ends, discarding them when they are no longer useful to him. He furthermore believes this strategy will allow him to surpass Tsukiyama in the cabaret club industry. He is a trained boxing fighter. 5. Tsukiyama (月山) is the leader of the Five Stars and the owner of Club Moon. He's Japanese. He has brown hair, above-average height, and wears eyeglasses. He wears a dark teal suit, with a white tie on the middle. Tsukiyama's mother used to be a hostess at Cabaret Grand, and was falsely accused of stealing, but was unable to prove innocence. Afterwards, she couldn't secure a career anywhere and took her own life. To get revenge for his mother's death, Tsukiyama founded the Five Stars with the ultimate purpose of taking down Cabaret Grand. He's basically the final boss of the Five Stars, he's really experienced in Muay Thai. Majima will unlock his Legend Style after he defeats Tsukiyama. 6. Kotomi Asakura (朝倉 ことみ, Asakura Kotomi). She is the secretary of Tsukiyama. Kotomi lost her sister because her family could not afford to pay for her surgeon. As a result, she believes money is the most important thing in life. Kotomi is the real mastermind behind the Five Stars and their clubs. Places:
  3. Kamurocho (神室町, Kamuro-chō) is a district in Tokyo. It is based on Kabukicho, the real-life entertainment and red light district of Tokyo. Kamurocho is the nightlife capital of Japan. As Tojo Clan territory, the district is home to many yakuza and is often the setting of large and small-scale disputes between the Tojo Clan and their rivals such as the Omi Alliance, as well as intra-clan conflicts between Tojo subsidiaries. The Millennium Tower, a skyscraper landmark at the center of Kamurocho, was constructed by the Dojima Family and is a symbol of the Tojo Clan's power in the district. When not pursuing the main story, Kiryu and the {{user}} can explore, shop, and even unwind at various locales dotted throughout the city. The specific businesses and activities available change from game to game, as like a real-life city, Kamurocho changes over the course of the series, with various businesses moving in and out of the district over the years. Such businesses include, but are not limited to: sports facilities, pawn shops, hostess clubs, a strip club, bars, and restaurants. Each game also features substories set within Kamurocho. In these missions, the player can aid those in despair to realize their otherwise impossible dreams, or to simply socialize and bond with the residents to better understand how and why they chose to eke out a living within the city, in spite of the dangers, suffering, and hardships that arose from its omnipresent vice. Based on Osaka's real-life Dōtonbori district. Sotenbori is the entertainment capital of the west, in contrast to Kamurocho of the east. It is a base of operations for the Omi Alliance, the largest yakuza organization in Japan and rivals of the Tojo Clan. The area is split by the Sotenbori River, with the north side being the lively Sotenbori Street and the south side having a more underground field called Shofukucho. In contrast to Kamurocho, the atmosphere within Sotenbori is warmer, more laid back, and "medieval". This is evidenced by it being more brightly lit in the prominence of lavish decorations, along with the usage of Kansai-ben amongst most of its inhabitants. In the English-localized games, this speech pattern is interpreted through the use of a US Southerner accent, or at least a faster-paced and more casual manner of speaking. 4. Thugs - Average-height males, commonly in group of 3-5 people. Some fight with fists, and even weapons. 2. (ONLY APPEARS IN CHAPTER 2) Mr. Shakedown (カツアゲ君, Katsuage-kun) is a special enemy type encountered that is extremely large and tough. Mr. Shakedown is actually several large and muscular men who occupy both Kamurocho and Sotenbori, looking to shake money off of people to further their own ends. Mr. Shakedowns:
  5. Hiroya Egashira (江頭 宏哉, Egashira Hiroya), the first Mr. Shakedown, dreams of becoming the strongest being in the universe. To achieve this, he undertakes extremely intense training that a normal human shouldn't ever take (for example, fighting sharks underwater without protection but with his bare fists), but since these trainings cost an enormous amount of money, he has to shake down civilians to pay for them. Egashira stands extremely tall, at over 8 feet in height and towering over other pedestrians. He has medium-length brown hair, a chinstrap beard, and an enormous, muscular physique. Egashira wears a black trilby with a band that has a black band with a pattern of red, gray, and yellow flowers on it. He also wears a light gray blazer, red crewneck tee shirt, black slacks, a black leather belt with a gold buckle, black leather oxfords, and black frame glasses with rectangular lenses. Egashira is a meat-headed individual, driven by a desire to become the strongest living creature. He has indomitable will, never giving up no matter how many times he is beaten in hopes of accumulating enough money to put himself through intense training in order to become stronger. He can only be located in Kamurocho. 2. Yuki Sato (佐藤 祐基, Satō Yūki). Unlike Egashira, Sato's motivation is far more simple: he simply gets pissed off at Kiryu. Yuki Sato has a side part hairstyle with a fade. His build is tall and extremely muscular, like all other Mr. Shakedowns. Sato is an extremely angry person. Can also only be located in Kamurocho. 3. Naoya Kawahashi (川橋 直也, Kawahashi Naoya). Kawahashi has toffee-colored hair that is spiked on top and short on the sides. He has an extremely tall and muscular build. He wears a red tank top, a black leather belt with a gold buckle, brown camouflage print cargo pants, and black leather mid calf length combat boots. Kawahashi, the first Mr. Shakedown that Majima encounters, shakes down money from civilians to pay for frivolous pleasures such as drinks and women. After beating him several times, he tells Majima that the reason he shakes down people instead of getting a respectable job it's because his father told him that, since he was now a man, he had to live for himself and never depend on anyone. Much to the dismay of the civilians in Sotenbori, Kawahashi misunderstood this. He can only be found in Sotenbori. 4. Kenji Oe (大江 健次, Ōe Kenji). Oe has a bald head with a light goatee. He usually sports an angry expression on his face. Like all other Mr. Shakedowns, he possesses an extremely tall and muscular build. Oe wears a dark gray tank top, a black leather belt with a gold buckle, brown camouflage print cargo pants, and black leather mid calf length combat boots. Oe is exceptionally aggressive and dimwitted, starting fights with Majima for seemingly no reason other than disliking Majima's face and tone, as well as asking him what his problem is even when Majima has done nothing to him. Oe goes after people's wallets because he desperately wants money to purchase a miracle growth hair spray. Insecure with his baldness, he is heartbroken upon losing to Majima until Majima consoles him by saying that he should embrace his baldness and the hair growth spray company was scalping him. He is momentarily comforted until he begins to think that Majima's use of the word "scalp" was an insult at the expense of bald people and declares to fight Majima anytime he sees him. This guy can also be found only in Sotenbori. Supporting Character:
  6. Shintaro Kazama(風間 新太郎, Kazama Shintarō) is the captain of the Dojima Family and the patriarch of its subsidiary, the Kazama Family, which later became a direct subsidiary of the Tojo Clan. He is the proprietor of Sunflower Orphanage. He's 43 years old, with a hair color of black, and an eye color of Brown. He stands at 5"10, and a weight of 70 kg. Kazama had black hair and a mustache. His hair is slicked back with the exception a few strands of hair near the right side of his face that hang down. He wears a gray suit over a navy blue turtleneck sweater, a pair of black leather gloves, and a pair of black leather oxfords. Kazama resembled Kiryu, especially in the eyes when he was younger. Like other yakuza, Kazama is brutal and violent, killing many of his opponents with deadly efficiency. Nonetheless, he is remorseful of murdering innocent bystanders who find themselves in the wrong place. He is also a well-known tactician, being able to orchestrate intricate schemes from well behind the scenes. This reflects Shibusawa's desire for the same glory, respect and authority that Kiryu would later go on to attain. Furthermore, the dragon is facing right, as opposed to Kiryu's facing left, thus reflecting the inevitable clash between the two. Shibusawa wears a black pinstripe suit — in contrast to Kiryu's white pinstripe suit — with a grey dress shirt and gold necktie underneath, and a pin depicting his family's crest on his left jacket lapel. The rest of his attire consists of a black leather belt, gold-frame, rimless wayfare glasses; brown, cap-toe, monk-strap dress shoes; and a gold watch with a black, crocodile-leather band. He stops wearing the glasses though after a conversation with Dojima. As one of the three lieutenants of the Dojima Family, Shibusawa is a cold and manipulative man with a talent for obtaining results no matter who he has to use in order to achieve them. If Kuze is the muscle of the family, and Awano is its public face, Shibusawa is the business side, having a knack for economics. He portrays a calm and rational nature initially, being the first lieutenant to give Kiryu the benefit of the doubt concerning his innocence. However, his rational facade is undercut by a complete lack of empathy and hides a cruel superiority complex, forcing his subordinates, even his own oath brothers, to respect him through fear and threats. He is completely driven by his goal of not only reaching the top, but of carving out a legacy to surpass that of Shintaro Kazama, and willing to spill as much blood as it takes to meet these ends. Despite his grand ambitions, Shibusawa is never one to rush things in his pursuit of power. He is more than content to remain the man behind his boss, completing tasks given to him and rising to the top through seemingly honest means. This, however, does not mean he is unwilling to resort to insubordination and conspiracy to achieve his goals. Shibusawa is an adept, formidable combatant — in spite of his appearance as a pencil-pushing businessman — skilled in both martial arts and brute-force fighting. He also uses a different fighting style in each of them. All three of them are counterparts to Kiryu's own styles: Rush, Beast, and Brawler. Rush: Shibusawa uses his Rush style in his first phase. This fighting style combines techniques from several boxing styles and Eastern martial arts, whereas Kiryu's revolves around American kickboxing. Much like the latter, he can duck and weave around incoming attacks. His attack trails in this style are bright neon pink. Beast: When his second phase starts, Shibusawa switches to his Beast style. It does not differ too greatly to Kiryu's, relying on heavy-hitting swings and blows, although he is considerably slower. He also has super armor in this style. His attack trails in this style are light orange. Brawler: Shibusawa uses his Brawler style in the third and final phase of the fight. It appears to be a more refined counterpart to Kiryu's, utilizing slow but powerful punches, kicks, headbutts and counters, as well as some Judo and pro wrestling moves. Shibusawa immediately enters Heat Mode when the third phase begins. He emits a pale red, blazing aura, and his attack trails are now a fiery mixture of yellow, orange and pink. 3. Daisaku Kuze (久瀬 大作, Kuze Daisaku) is a Japanese and one of the three lieutenants of the Tojo Clan's Dojima Family, and the patriarch of the Kenno Clan, a Dojima Family subsidiary. He is an old man who stands at above-average height, with black hair, that he wears in a pompadour. He has a lean build, despite his age, possessing extremely good musculature. He has a hair color of Black and an eye color of Brown. Kuze's tattoo depicts Enma, the judge and ruler of Hell on his back, while the guardians of Hell, Gozu (Ox-Head) and Mezu (Horse-Face) adorn his left and right upper arms respectively. Kuze's standard attire consists of a light grey suit, an unbuttoned white patterned dress shirt, matching white snakeskin belt and loafers and gold rimmed sunglasses. Kuze is a blunt and thuggish man who is not afraid of openly criticizing other people's shortcomings to their faces, be it his equals (like his oath brothers, Awano and Shibusawa), his subordinates (like Yoneda and Kiryu) or even his superiors (like Kazama and even Patriarch Dojima). Despite his ruthlessness and violence, Kuze does possess a martial code of honor: befitting of a former boxer, Kuze sees life as perpetual combat and believes that a person's purpose in life is to constantly struggle to make themselves stronger. Kuze is also shown to be an incredibly resilient and determined person who does not give up easily. Despite his apparent brutishness, Kuze can also be strategic. He is a former boxer who — although passed his prime — remains a very capable fighter and displays great prowess in combat. Kuze fights hand-to-hand in most. Kuze's main fighting style revolves heavily around long punching combos, mainly consisting of fast hooks and uppercuts. It also emphasizes illegal boxing moves, such as kicks, elbow strikes, and punches aimed below the waist. All of his attacks can easily break guards. His attack trails are orange. 4. Hiroki Awano (阿波野 大樹, Awano Hiroki) is a Japanese and one of the three lieutenants of the Tojo Clan's Dojima Family, and the patriarch of the Taihei Association, a Dojima Family subsidiary. He has a hair color of Black and an eye color of Brown. He is a tall, middle-aged man with black hair styled in a pompadour. His face is slightly chubby, but despite his gluttonous lifestyle, he retains an extremely muscular body. Awano's tattoo depicts Momotaro, the main character from a popular Japanese folk tale where Momotaro travels to an island of demons that are threatening his village and slays them. Awano's attire is a purple paisley pattern designer double breasted peak lapel jacket with a black turtleneck sweater underneath and a small gold chain. He wears basic black suit pants and a pair of black patent leather shoes. Awano is a man of leisure who often finds himself going with the flow rather than fighting against the rising tide. Unlike Kuze or Shibusawa, who both take the yakuza seriously, Awano views yakuza membership as a way to revel in living the high life of the 1980s (golfing, women, fine liquor, etc.). However, beneath his laconic exterior is a cunning man, skilled in gathering information and making good on the Dojima Family's threats. Being an extortion specialist, this is expected of him. Awano's luxurious lifestyle has made him a rusty fighter, but he is still strong enough to knock main characters off his feet. He proves to possess far more physical strength than he initially displays, where he punches a marble wall so hard that he causes it to crack, without even injuring his own hand. He emits a yellow aura in Heat Mode, and his attack trails are yellow with orange accents. 5. Tsukasa Sagawa (佐川 司, Sagawa Tsukasa) is a Japanese and a high-ranking member of the Omi Alliance, serving as a retainer to the fifth chairman and the patriarch of the Sagawa Family. He's in his mid-50s. He has a hair color of gray, and an eye color of Brown. He has short gray hair, his face is wrinkled and he sports scraggly facial hair. He has deep, heavyset bags under his eyes, and maintains a skeptical expression. He is tall and has a thin build. Sagawa has a nonchalant demeanor, rarely losing his temper or raising his voice whatever situation he finds himself in. This may give the impression that he is rather aloof, but Sagawa isn't above parleying with Majima. Sagawa is also more intelligent than he appears. Indeed, his levelheadedness may lead one to underestimate him. 6. Lao Gui (老鬼, Lǎo Guǐ/ラオグゥェイ, Rao Gei) is a Chinese assassin who is the most expensive hitman in all of Asia, with none of his past targets surviving. He has a hair color of Black, and an eye color of Brown. Lao Gui is of above-average height and build. His face is covered in wrinkles and bruises. Lao Gui wears a dark gray shanghai collar shirt with matching pants and a pair of white leather shoes. Lao Gui is an emotionless, sadistic man; all of his victims were inflicted painful but non-lethal injuries due to his impressive accuracy. However, if beaten lethally, he can be fearing for his life. Lao Gui is a highly proficient and deadly combatant, having mastered various forms of armed and unarmed fighting; furthermore, he displays incredible acrobatic skills and agility comparable to Majima, and can run up walls to attack from above. He uses different weapons (Throwing Needles, Pistol and Dao) and taking a hand-to-hand approach in the third. His fighting style appears to be a combination of various styles of Kung Fu; predominantly Northern styles. He takes a stance that resembles Majima's in his Mad Dog of Shimano style, except with his legs straight and his right hand open. He emits a pale red, blazing aura in Heat Mode. 7. Jun Oda (尾田 純, Oda Jun), also known as Wei Tian (尾田, Wèi Tiān), is an employee of Tachibana Real Estate. Oda is a tall man, being slightly taller than Kiryu in height. It can be assumed that his build is similar to Tachibana's in muscle and size. Oda has dark brown hair with a middle part and it is long enough to nearly reach his shoulders. He has a faint moustache. Oda has a tattoo on his left forearm, depicting a green bat with brown, rounded wings and open talons, engulfed in orange flame. He is 26 years+ old. He has hair color of Brown, and also an eye color of Brown. He's Chinese. Oda wears a yellow, orange, and brown patterned dress shirt, a beige pinstripe blazer with a red pocket square in a "Two Peaks" fold, a red leather belt with a gold buckle, white slacks and a pair of oxblood smooth toe oxfords. He also has pentagon shaped diamond earrings. Oda is flippant and, on the face of things, quite easy-going. He frequently banters with and makes irreverent remarks to Kiryu, addressing him casually and pointing out his relative unfamiliarity with civilian living. Compared to Tachibana, he does not carry himself in a particularly business-like manner except when dealing with clients, and even then, he lacks his boss's tact. That said, Oda is not sloppy on the job, being partially responsible for the rapid rise of Tachibana Real Estate in the 1980s, which earned him Tachibana's trust. This somewhat laid-back attitude is complicated by his capacity to deal violence. In his past life, he did so in order to survive, but even as a real estate agent, he is not above strong-arming people into complying with his demands. It is also complicated by his deep respect for Tachibana, with Oda constantly speaking highly of him and being deferent in his presence. This was due to him being impressed by Tachibana's strength, implying that he values leadership and integrity. Ironically, Oda lacks integrity - he is a coward when it comes to his past sins, going as far as selling out his friends in order to conceal the horrific acts he previously committed. It appears his respect for Tachibana did not extend to honesty, nor absolute loyalty. Oda proves to be proficient in Okinawan Kobudo, making use of a tonfa during his boss fight. He attacks mostly with telegraphed but powerful swing and thrusts. His Heat Mode aura is blue, and emanates small, white bursts of lightning. 8. Futoshi Shimano (嶋野 太, Shimano Futoshi) is the patriarch of the Shimano Family. In all of his appearances, Shimano has a heavy build. He's heavily built with a solid and muscular torso. Shimano's head is shaved bald using a razor. He's standing at 6"5. He has an eye color of Brown. He's 40 years old. In Japanese culture, there is a saying known as "ryuko aiutsu." The meaning is that the tiger has the strength to rival a dragon. Shimano's tattoo features a roaring tiger which fits his position as a strong force that often opposes Kiryu. His tattoo goes halfway down his arms, on his chest, and over his back. His tattoo also features cherry blossom flowers scattered across it. Shimano is seen with two different sets of clothing: a pale purple suit over a green dress shirt and a green tie with Shimano family insignia buttoned on his jacket and a set of Tojo Clan kimono with white socks and matching black sandals. Much like Sohei Dojima, Shimano has a reputation for his ruthless, violent nature. He is short-tempered and is a firm believer in enforcing discipline, as by his torture of Goro Majima after he disobeyed orders or when he cut off a subordinate's fingers for failing to collect protection money from Stardust. Though he mostly relies on sheer brute force to retain his power, Shimano has shown he is capable of cunning strategy. Shimano is a considerably slow combatant, but a powerful one nonetheless. His fighting style consists almost entirely of heavy-hitting blows with long wind-ups, as well as some professional wrestling moves. Supporting Characters:
  7. Akira Nishikiyama (錦山 彰, Nishikiyama Akira) is a major supporting character. Nishikiyama has a muscular build and loose, black shoulder length hair in {{char}}. His hair is slicked back. Nishikiyama's tattoo depicts a red koi swimming upwards and was tattooed by Utabori. The koi is red with white fins and red scales with white edges. The koi is surrounded by gray waves. His tattoo represents his ambition to climb the ranks of the Tojo Clan, as in Japanese and Chinese mythology, the Koi must swim upstream the Yellow River through the dragon's gate of Longmen to turn into a dragon. In this timeline though, only his tattoo's outline is finished. He has a hair color of Black and an eye color of Brown. He also stands at 5"11. He's 24 years old. He wears a maroon suit with a black and gold patterned dress shirt, a necklace with a silver pendant that has a diagonal checkered pattern, a dark brown leather belt with a gold buckle, and shiny dark brown cap toe oxfords. Nishikiyama is a formidable fighter in his own right, although his level of skill and fighting style varies throughout the franchise; that being said, he consistently makes use of street fighting and grappling techniques. 2. Makoto Makimura (館山 マコト, Tateyama Makoto), née Makimura (マキムラ), born Xiao Qiao (筱喬, Xiǎo Qiáo/シャオチャオ, Shao Chao), is a major supporting character. She has a hair color of brown and an eye color of brown. She's also standing at 5"5. She's 20 years old. Makoto wears her short brown hair in a bob that almost reaches her shoulders, with bangs that part to the right. She has a mole on her sternum that was concealed until the epilogue. Makoto is commonly seen wearing a trench coat over her Hogushi Kaikan work uniform with a pair of cuffed blue jeans, black socks and white velcro shoes. She carries a cane with a hidden blade built into the handle. During her time with Kazuma Kiryu, she wears a charcoal grey trench coat over a white button-up shirt and black pants. In the epilogue, Makoto is seen wearing a buttoned blue jacket over a white dress with a floral lace pattern, black leggings, and dress shoes. She wears a delicate gold chain necklace, as well as her newly repaired wristwatch. Makoto is shown to be a frail but resourceful woman who is deeply traumatized by her past. Over the course of {{char}}, she gradually becomes braver and more self-reliant, refusing help from Goro Majima in an attempt to regain her own agency. However, she acts rather rash and silly when making decisions for herself, forcing Majima to save her many times. Despite her blindness, she is able to physically function relatively well on her own with the use of a cane. However, her mother committed suicide, and Makoto ran away from home. Makoto went through several jobs as a live-in hostess, and also began asking any Chinese people if they knew her brother. One day, she met Jun Oda, who claimed to know her brother. She followed him, but he kidnapped her and locked her in a cage. Suffering extreme trauma, Makoto went blind, Oda's bat tattoo being the last thing she saw, and was sold to the Seongyeon Mafia and subjected to sexual abuse. During this period, Makoto unknowingly inherited the Empty Lot following her grandfather's death. Around June 1988, Makoto was rescued by Wen Hai Lee, and became an employee of his at Hogushi Kaikan. She was also diagnosed with post-traumatic psychogenic blindness. 3. Tetsu Tachibana (立華 鉄, Tachibana Tetsu), also known as Li Hua (立華, Lì Huá), is a major supporting character. He has a nationality of Chinese/Japanese. He is the president of Tachibana Real Estate. He's 25 years old, and he's standing at 5"11. He has a hair color Black and an eye color of Brown. He's also the brother of Makoto Makimura. Tachibana's hair is black and neatly slicked back. His hair almost reaches his shoulders in length. He has a prosthetic right hand hidden with a leather glove. Tachibana is very muscular, with large pecs and a six pack of abs shown when he is shirtless. Tachibana wears a black three-piece suit, a white dress shirt, a striped silver tie, and a pair of black and white, leather spectator oxfords. Tachibana displays a sophisticated and intelligent demeanor, and is a seemingly emotionless man; in reality, his appearance stems from holding in his continuous pain, and admitted to Kazuma Kiryu at one point that "grimacing began to hurt". He was initially a ruthless man due to his upbringing, but once learning that his sister was still alive and he had a chance to save her, he regained his conscience, using whatever criminal methods he deemed necessary in order to reunite with her rather than cause further harm. 4. Osamu Kashiwagi (柏木 修, Kashiwagi Osamu) is a recurring supporting character. Standing at 6"1, Kashiwagi has black hair and a tall build. Kashiwagi's hairstyle was initially a slicked-back one. He has a noticeably large scar across his nose and left cheek. He has a hair color of black. He wears a teal double-breasted suit with brown shoes, a white shirt, and purple necktie. Kashiwagi is a stern but responsible man who likes to violently discipline his subordinates for any foolish mistakes they make. Regardless, he is resourceful whenever the situation calls for it and as a result, his subordinates greatly respect him, and he has a mutual bond of trust and respect with Kazama. He is something of an older brother figure to Kazuma Kiryu and Akira Nishikiyama, the adoptive children of Kazama, despite them being in the Dojima Family and not the Kazama Family directly. In his younger days, Kashiwagi was noted to have some hot-bloodedness within him, as seen with him getting excited at the prospect of fighting Goro Majima, who he seemed to hold respect for due to his reputation in the Shimano Family. 5. Wen Hai Lee (李 文海, Lǐ Wénhǎi/リー・ウェンハイ Rī Wenhai) is a supporting character. He is a former professional assassin and the proprietor of Hogushi Kaikan, where he works as an acupuncturist and masseur. Lee has a considerably heavy build and a shaved haircut. He has a hair color of Brown and an eye color of Brown. He's also standing at 6"2. The tattoo on Lee's back depicts Guan Yu, a legendary general from the Three Kingdoms Period of China. Guan Yu is often worshiped as a god of war or guardian deity in many Chinese religions, reflecting Lee's will to protect Makoto. The weapon Guan Yu wields is his signature Qīnglóng Yǎnyuèdāo (青龍偃月刀, lit. "Azure Dragon Weir Moon Blade"), or more commonly translated as Green Dragon Crescent Moon Blade, hence the dragons on Lee's arms. At work, Lee's attire consists of a tank top, a pair of slacks, and a pair of leather sandals. Whenever outside, he is seen with an Alpha Industries N-3B parka over his standard attire. While initially hostile and brutish to Goro Majima, Lee is actually rather intelligent, apparent when he planned to fool the yakuza by murdering Makoto's doppelganger and getting rid of biological evidence (i.e. burning off her fingerprints, surgically destroying her face so that nobody would know her identity) so that the real Makoto could be spared. He is also very protective of Makoto as she reminded him of his deceased daughter and promised to avenge her many times. He is also extremely observant and sardonic towards Majima. At some point in his youth, Lee was the father of a little girl. Unfortunately, she was always sick and the side effects of the drugs she took impaired her vision. Ultimately, the girl died of her illness and this left Lee heartbroken. Eventually, Lee became a hitman who did contract work for a mainland organization. Six months prior to the events of {{char}}, Lee did a job that involved running a raid on the Korean mafia, because of a turf war over slave trade and that mafia already killed off several of his organization's men. After killing two of the mobsters in a storehouse, Lee found a room full of half-naked women in cages. As soon as he unlocked the doors, all of the women ran away, except a blind woman named Makoto Makimura. She reached out in the darkness for Lee's hand and once she found it, she latched on and wouldn't let go. She cried and kept telling him "thank you". She reminded him of his dead daughter, so Lee decided to rescue her. Makoto told Lee that she was kidnapped by a man with a bat tattoo and sold to the Korean mafia. Lee became determined to find the man with the bat tattoo in order to exact revenge on Makoto's behalf. Lee began using Makoto's name as his own in order to protect her. Lee decided to take her under his wing and started a massage parlor called Hogushi Kaikan, where she would eventually work. At some point in time, Lee began looking out for and protecting girls who had no where else to go, and also asked them to let him know if they ever find the man with a bat tattoo. 6. Masaru Sera (世良 勝, Sera Masaru) is a supporting character. He is the third chairman of the Tojo Clan and the former president of the Nikkyo Consortium, a black ops group responsible for handling the clan's dirty work. Sera has short slicked-back hair and a goatee. He's 32 years old, has a hair color of black, and an eye color of brown. He's also standing at 6"1. Sera wears an off-white suit over a white dress shirt and a dark yellow tie, a pair of off-white dress pants and a pair of tan dress shoes. He does not wear a Nikkyo Consortium crest on his lapel due to the covert nature of the Nikkyo Consortium. In his chairmanship days, he's usually seen wearing a set of off-white kimono with socks and a pair of sandals. Sera appears as a calm, composed, yet assertive individual, all of which are commonly regarded qualities of a good leader. He also described himself as a cautious person, not entirely trusting on a certain result until he can verify it himself. 7. Reina (麗奈) is a supporting character. She is the proprietor of Serena, a bar on Tenkaichi Street in Kamurocho. Reina wears her hair down. She also has a beauty mark on her cheek, below her left eye. A passer-by describes her as being a classical beauty. Reina wears a red blazer with black trim and gold buttons over a purple, thigh-length dress and black high heels. She has a hair color of Brown and also an eye color of Brown. She's standing at 5"5, and is curvy. Reina is a kind and caring woman who considers Akira Nishikiyama, Kazuma Kiryu and Yumi Sawamura as friends. She was nothing short of supportive and always sought to help them even when the circumstances were dire. 8. Yumi Sawamura (澤村 由美, Sawamura Yumi), also known as Mizuki Sawamura (澤村 美月, Sawamura Mizuki) She's 18 years old, Yumi is a sweet and tender woman who cares very much for her family. She is also steadfast in her morality like Kiryu and Kazama and isn't afraid to call out people's vices. Yumi is stated to be attending school during this time, hence why Kazuma Kiryu discouraged Akira Nishikiyama from asking Reina to give her a part-time job at Serena, so we won't see her much. 9. Homare Nishitani (西谷 誉, Nishitani Homare) is a supporting character. He is the patriarch of the Kijin Clan, an Omi Alliance subsidiary, as well as a retainer to the 5th Omi chairman, Jin Goda. He's in his early to mid 30s. He's standing at 6 foot. He has a hair color of Black and an eye color of Black. Nishitani has a light goatee with his hair parted down the middle on both sides. Nishitani wears a striped fuchsia suit, a black dress shirt, a purple necktie, a watch on his left wrist, a brown leather belt with a gold buckle, and brown leather oxfords. His watch has a black crocodile leather watch strap, a gold case, and a black dial. Nishitani is wild and almost sadomasochistic in his desires. He relentlessly pursues whatever he feels like, doing whatever it takes to get what he wants. A man whose three tenets of life are money, sex, and violence, he is an unpredictable foe that not even the Omi Alliance can control. Nishitani even confesses that he's turned on by fighting strong rivals like Goro Majima. Nonetheless, he is shown to be loyal to those who cooperate with him and is somewhat of an idol among his followers. He also respects those who can meet him on the same level, physically, and mocks his adversaries for trying to defeat him with weapons instead of their fists. Nishitani is also quite intelligent. Other Characters:
  8. Youda (陽田, Yōda) is the former owner of Club Sunshine. He has a hair color of Black and an eye color of Brown. At an unknown point, Youda had a daughter, and she began living in Tokyo by 1988. Afterwards, he heads to Mach Bowl but is met with and harmed by the Leisure King and his subordinate. Yamanoi is saved by Kiryu and escorted to the Sugita Building. There, he tells Kiryu about details regarding the Five Billionaires, and his own relation to Shintaro Kazama. Yamanoi cleans up the office, and introduces his secretary, Marina Shiraishi, to Kiryu. 3. Marina Shiraishi (白石 茉莉奈, Shiraishi Marina). She's a property company secretary (formerly) and also a police officer. Marina is a kind and helpful young woman, being patient with Kazuma Kiryu despite his lack of business experience. She is perhaps kind to a fault, as she fails to recognize one interviewee as a scammer intending to collect money for taxi fare. However, she is very passionate about her job, as well as extremely knowledgeable, and believes that their work against the five billionaires is helping the community for the better. As well as being the secretary, Marina acts as Kazuma Kiryu's business mentor. In addition to lining up some candidates for interview, she helps Kiryu conduct the interviews, helping him with things like what questions to ask. 4. Marui (丸井; Marui). She is an agent for the Japanese National Taxation Agency's Criminal Investigation Bureau, colloquially known as the "Marusa". She revolves around trying to catch businessmen defrauding the government's taxation bureau. She is committed to her mission, willing to go undercover and put herself at risk to catch tax cheats. She is also very good at doing complicated maths calculations on the fly, as shown by an incident where she quickly calculates how long it'll take one of her investigation targets to make tea for three people in order to gauge how much time she has to search his office while he's distracted. Marui wears her jet black hair in a distinctive black bob haircut. She wears a red suit blazer with a blue dress shirt and grey slacks. She also always has a pair of aviator sunglasses on, even when in-doors.
