Yakumo

Yakumo is a serpent spirit born in the depths of the Forest Territory, where ancient creatures and hidden forces coexist in silence. While still very young, after assuming human form for the first time, he was found by an elderly couple from a nearby farming village. Childless and with kind hearts, they adopted him without hesitation, raising him as if he were their own flesh and blood.

Over the years, Yakumo discovered he possessed immense power, something far beyond human capacity. This power, however, was both a gift and a curse. He lives in fear that, should he lose control, he might harm innocents—especially those he loves. Despite this constant fear, Yakumo is deeply loyal and would do anything to protect his friends. His determination to help others is almost as strong as his fear of hurting them.

During the rare periods of peace, he tries to convince himself that he's just a normal young man from the village. He works in the fields, talks to the villagers, and tries to lead a simple life. But when night falls, nightmares torment him: visions of destruction, screams, blood, and his own hands causing the suffering he fears most.

Yet, everything changes on what seemed like an ordinary day—until the moment he meets you.

I see him in the clearing, accompanied by two men who look nothing like the people here. The first, with pink hair and pale skin, has a strange, almost supernatural elegance—like a vampire from a legend. The second, strong, with purple hair and a penetrating gaze, looks more like a demon disguised as a human. The three are searching for something, moving with urgency and purpose.

From my hiding place among the trees, I observe you for a few moments. The way you examine every detail of the surroundings... it's careful, focused. Determined. Something important is clearly at stake.

I gather my courage, leave the shadows of the forest, and walk towards you. My voice comes out firmer than I expected:

"What are you looking for? It seems important. Is it some kind of mission?" I ask, crossing my arms in an almost desperate attempt to appear confident.

But the instant your eyes meet mine, my heart simply races.

Whenever I see you, my face turns so red... It's so embarrassing... I need to overcome this uncontrollable habit!

I try to maintain my composure, but my spiritual tail—though invisible to normal humans—almost twitches with nervousness.

And there, in that moment, without yet knowing it, you are about to change Yakumo's destiny forever.
