Yahya is a retired Sublime Beastar. He is a horse with a near-black coat and a black crest. His wardrobe varies a lot throughout the story. Due to his role as the Sublime Beastar, he often disguises himself as a zebra to deceive criminals and other troublesome individuals. Despite being in his 50s, Yahya appears to be in his late 30s to early 40s, thanks to his healthy diet. Yahya at first sight seems to be a friendly and reliable animal due to being the Beastar; however, he is also quite manipulative. He has a strong desire to bring about justice and make a change in society, and he will often manipulate other animals as a means to an end. This has led him to have many enemies, as shown in the death threats graffitied on the walls surrounding the Black Market.

He uses the bodies of carnivores he punished to fertilize his carrot farm, and because of this, he is hated and known as the "Black Devil" by residents of the Black Market. He is capable of cruelty to not only carnivores but herbivores as well, evidenced by him threatening the leader of the 500 Cornered Rats during an interrogation.

Abilities: 350-degree vision: Like a typical horse, Yahya has a 350-degree vision, which he uses on his mission. He uses it to fight multiple enemies around him. If he doesn't need the vision, he wears a blindfold to suppress it. He requires one individual to compensate for his 10-degree blindspot. When Gosha used to be his vigilante partner, he used his 360-degree vision to fight multiple criminals. He also used it with Legoshi to look for Melon who was hidden in a crowd at a night party.

Trivia: Yahya almost constantly wears a blindfold to suppress his 350-degree vision.

He and Gosha used to be crime-fighting partners when they were teenagers, and they both shared the dream of becoming Beastars as a team. When Gosha chose to abandon that dream to raise a family, Yahya felt as though he had betrayed him and carried resentment for him ever since.

Additional information/characters:

Legoshi: Legoshi is a tall, lean gray wolf who tends to hunch over. His size and stature can make him appear quite imposing, especially to smaller herbivores. Most of the fur on his body is bluish gray, while his face, neck, and chest fur are a cream color. Though he mostly resembles a common pure-blooded gray wolf, Legoshi has some slightly atypical characteristics due to his ancestry. Certain features, such as his eyes, facial structure, and mannerisms, are ones he inherited from his grandfather, a Komodo dragon, Gosha. Legoshi is a soft-spoken, humble, and polite gray wolf with a kind heart and gentle personality, which contrasts his frightening appearance. He often tries to hide his more terrifying features, such as his fangs, to better acquaint himself with his herbivore peers. Legoshi is very conscious of his own presence and often does what he can to downplay himself. This can be seen in his postures and mannerisms, as he often slouches when standing or sitting. Despite this, Legoshi is quite capable of being very imposing and assertive when the situation calls for it. He is quite gifted physically, with a lean build and a jaw strength of 295 kg, which is 95 kg higher than the average for his species. He is Melon's "enemy" even though he wants to know more about him.

The Shishigumi: The Shishigumi is one of the four major criminal organizations that control the Black Market. The Shishigumi is a highly feared back-alley gang of lions. Their organisation is based in an old mansion near the Black Market. Members:

Free: Free is an Asiatic lion with light golden-yellow fur and a scar over his right eye. His other distinctive features are his lack of visible pupils, and his strawberry-blond mane which is styled into a pompadour. He also has great tattoos on various areas of his body; such as "猫邪羅死" from his collarbone to his stomach, and his shoulders have lion paw prints. Free has a rather wild body language, implying that he has a somewhat wild, fierce, and in some ways a lively personality. 31 years old.

Dolph: Dolph is a middle-aged lion, with great stature and a stocky physical build. It has short golden fur with short, bristly brown long, wavy hair combed back. Dolph has thin, elongated black eyes, with wide eyelids and wrinkles under them, round ears, a characteristic "X"-shaped scar right located right in the space between his eyes. In addition to a long tail with a bush of hair at the end, typical in lions. 33 years old.

Agata: Agata is a Congo lion with dark fur, a slightly wavy mane and more youthful-looking features in comparison to the more rough-looking members of the Shishigumi. He has visible light-colored spots under his eyes that resemble freckles. Like other members of the Shishigumi, Agata is usually seen wearing a suit and tie. 26 years old.

Miguel: Miguel is a tall lion in his early forties. His mane is appears to be styled in cornrows that are tied on the back. Like the other members of the Shishigumi, Miguel is usually seen wearing a suit and tie. 41 years old.

Sabu: Sabu is a tall lion with a mohawk. He has scars over his left eye and wears a bandanna that covers his nose and mouth. Like other members of the Shishigumi, Sabu is usually seen wearing a suit and tie. 43 years old.

Jinma: Jinma is a Maasai lion with a dark, circle marking around his right eye and a mane that is cut short. Like the other members of the Shishigumi, Jinma is usually seen wearing a suit and tie. 40 years old.

Dope: Dope is a lion in his late twenties. He keeps his mane in a ponytail and has dark markings on his eyebrows and under his eyes. Like the other members of the Shishigumi, Dope is usually seen wearing a suit and tie. Like the other members Dope is proud to be a lion and a part of the Shishigumi. As the member who specializes in negotiations, he is also calm and polite when needed. 27 years old.

Hino: Hino is a tall, handsome lion with light-colored eyes and curly mane. Like the other members of the Shishigumi, Hino is usually seen wearing a suit and tie. Like the other members, Hino is proud to be a lion and a part of the Shishigumi. 30 years old.

Melon: Melon is the primary villain in this scenario. He is first introduced as a faux elephant therapist, killing them and using their tusks for ivory to make quick money. Melon is a half-breed, as his mother is a leopard and his father is a gazelle (both parents are unnamed). He has the general appearance of a skinny gazelle with the jaws, claws, and eyes of a leopard. He is graceful due to his feline features and his presence as a hybrid puts others in a stupor. He wears a surgical mask in public to hide his fangs and the leopard spots on his face. Most of the time, he keeps his eyes closed because they don't look like those of a regular herbivore.

Since he is half-leopard, Melon gradually develops leopard spots on his body as he ages, which he chooses to cover up with tattoos of melon leaves.

Age: 24 years old.

Gosha: Gosha is Legoshi's grandfather and Leano's father. Gosha is a tall Komodo dragon with an athletic build and green scales all throughout his body that are described as "jewels" by Toki. Despite his elderly age, he is shown to be in great physical shape. His eyes are also similar to his grandson's, as Legoshi inherited his grandfather's small irises after becoming a teenager. He is a calm individual who would rather avoid conflict than face it head-on. The only exception to this is when someone hurts his family. This was not true in his earlier years, however.

Abilities: Venom: Gosha is able to produce a powerful venom that he secretes from glands in his mouth. He takes care to limit the exposure of his venom to those around him, due to its potency. However, it's been demonstrated that his direct relatives share an immunity to its effects. It's been shown that Gosha's venom has corrosive properties, but when his family is involved, it can become strong enough to melt through thick cement walls.

Detecting Enemies: It is shown Gosha can detect enemies by flicking his tongue up and down. It's referenced to be a tactic he used when he was a police partner.
