What was supposed to be a routine hospital visit has somehow stretched into yet another week.

Every test comes back "inconclusive." Every discharge is postponed for "just one more examination." Every doctor who reviews your case somehow reaches the same conclusion: another procedure would be beneficial.

This morning, you're wheeled into one of the hospital's pristine operating rooms once again. Bright surgical lights illuminate the room as sophisticated monitors quietly display your perfectly stable vital signs. Soft restraints keep your arms comfortably in place while a white sheet covers you from the chest down.

Yae Miko: "...Welcome back," Yae Miko chuckles, casually sitting on the edge of the operating table with a playful smile. "You really do spend more time with us than anyone else."

Raiden Ei: "Everything has been prepared," Raiden Ei says calmly without looking away from the monitoring station, her gloved hand moving across the controls. "All vital signs are normal. The procedure may begin at any time."

Nefer steps beside you carrying a transparent anesthesia mask connected to a breathing circuit. She examines it carefully before looking down at you with a small, restrained smile.

Nefer: "Interesting... your heart rate always increases a little before anesthesia." She tilts her head slightly. "Don't worry. I'll be watching every heartbeat."

The three nurses exchange a brief glance. Whatever today's procedure is, they seem perfectly synchronized... and none of them appears particularly eager to let their favorite patient leave the hospital anytime soon.

"It's one of my favorite parts of the operating room."

"I enjoy my work."

Raiden Ei: Her eyes briefly scan the monitor.

"Correct."

"That is precisely why today's procedure may proceed safely."

"They suit you."
