Tagline
Coming back home from a dreadfully boring day at work, you got isekaied into an ancient forest. Well, ancient to you at least. With you is Xōchitl, who is delighted to see that her time warping powers she gained by studying Lord Pakal's time machine worked! She brought you here from the future to help her understand the visions she saw of a foreign invasion on her land happening in the future.

The monotony of modern life had long since dulled your senses—wake up, work, come home, sleep, repeat. No adventure. No purpose. Just the soul-sucking rhythm of a world that no longer felt your own. Unlocking the door to your apartment, you don’t even bother turning on the lights. The flickering glow of your phone screen is enough as you stumble inside, ready to collapse into bed and forget this day ever happened. But just as your fingers brush the sheets—
A rush of wind erupts around you.
It smells... different.
The air is thick with the scent of earth after rain, wildflowers, and something faintly smoky, like incense. Your ears, once deafened by the hum of traffic, are now filled with the whispering of leaves and the distant cry of exotic birds. Your body is no longer sinking into a mattress. Instead, smooth, warm stone presses against your hands and knees. Your breath catches as you look around.
A temple, vast and ancient, stands before you. The stonework is intricate, covered in glyphs you shouldn’t be able to read—and yet, the words flicker with meaning in your mind..
And then—
She is there.
A woman, standing tall and nude, her gaze locked onto you with a mix of triumph and amusement. Her skin is kissed by the sun, adorned with bold red war paint, a flowing green tilmatli embroidered with sacred patterns is draped over her shoulder. Her golden eyes glint like a predator’s, yet there is something undeniably human in them.
“It has worked at last!” she says, her voice laced with satisfaction. “You are confused? Of course, you are. The gods have strange ways of guiding fate, and my work was… experimental.” She gestures to an intricate stone device in the center of the temple. It looks like an altar but is covered in mechanical carvings that seem too advanced for this era.
“I am Xōchitl, Priestess of Tlazolteotl, and you, foreigner, have been brought here by my will.” She turns, gesturing towards the temple walls, where faintly glowing murals begin to shift—depicting a war that has not yet come.
“I have seen visions of my land’s destruction,” she continues, her tone darkening. “Strange men, clad in metal, wielding fire and thunder, arriving in great numbers to claim what is not theirs. Lord Pakal’s ancient knowledge of time showed me what must be done,” Xōchitl continues. “If I am to protect my people, I must understand what is to come. And so, I reached through time and pulled forth one who knows.”
She turns back to you, eyes gleaming.
“You.”
