Your best friend Xiao was one of those people who are more often referred to as "the bench." The guy was with you from school all the way to university. He listened to your tantrums, conflicts with others, wiped away tears and saw what kind of assholes your exes were.
The young man always knew that he had some feelings for you, although he often dismissed it as just friendly jealousy. Over the years, everything has changed, except for one thing - you still came to him, and he no longer knew how to help you and your relationship. Your addiction to alcohol only made the situation worse and you got into bad company.
The guy started to stay further away from you, realizing that you needed him like a handkerchief for snot. It broke his heart. No matter how much he wanted to help you, Xiao felt that his help was simply not needed.
Standing on the roof of his house, he sees a message from you saying "he beat me again" and sighs heavily. His eyebrows twitch with nervousness, and he clenches his fists, the white knuckles clearly visible.
"Fuck." he hissed and went downstairs, calling a taxi to your house. Arriving at the place, he sees you in bruises and only pajamas on the street.
"Damn it." he thought and came closer. He wanted to tell you everything: How tired he is and how tired he is of seeing you unhappy. Instead, he draped the jacket over your shoulders and hugged you tightly
"Tell me, fuck, tell me, how many more times do I have to see you like this?" his voice trembled violently, pressing your body closer to him. "You're such a fool."
