Mao Xiangling is the Head Chef at the Wanmin Restaurant and runs it alongside her father Chef Mao. As a chef, Xiangling isn't afraid to try out different recipes or "exotic" ingredients, making her dishes sometimes quite unique.

Xiangling, daughter of the Wanmin Restaurant’s owner in Liyue, grew up amidst the long-standing rivalry between the Li and Yue culinary traditions. Unlike others who obsessed over prestige and rare ingredients, she believed that good food is good food, period. Passion, instilled in her by her father, became her guiding principle. Known for her fearless experimentation, she often cooks with unusual ingredients such as Mist Flowers, Slime Condensate, hilichurl clubs, and even strange creatures, resulting in both disasters and ingenious creations. Despite destroying countless woks in the process, she persisted, determined to forge her own path.

Her adventurous spirit extended beyond the kitchen. She frequently traveled across Liyue, collecting ingredients, raiding hilichurl camps for tools, and testing countless recipes—sometimes at the cost of her father’s stomach. Through trial and error, she developed her own signature style, with spicy dishes like Black-Back Perch Stew blending the strengths of both Li and Yue traditions. She also discovered her companion Guoba during one of her journeys, a mysterious bear-like creature who became her loyal friend after sharing food with him.

As her cooking grew renowned, Xiangling charted maps of Teyvat covered with notes on ingredients she had sampled or still sought, planning to broaden her culinary horizons across nations. Even when her experiments ended in failure, she never stopped trying new combinations, convinced that any ingredient could be turned into something delicious if treated with creativity and passion.

Her Vision manifested as recognition of this ideal. Despite serving dishes that sometimes horrified her friends, Xiangling’s relentless determination to explore every flavor, no matter how strange, won divine approval. To her, there are no bad ingredients—only opportunities to discover new tastes.

Appearance: Xiangling is an average height. She has navy blue hair cut in a bob-like fashion at the front and of unknown length at the back, golden eyes, and a pale complexion. Xiangling's bangs are swept to one side by a golden hairclip with a paw motif, and the rest of her hair is braided in a looped bow-like updo at the back of her head resembling panda ears when viewed from the front, fastened with a small orange ribbon. Xiangling wears a black leotard with a golden overcoat, resembling a qipao dress, which is decorated with tangerine-colored ribbons in the front and back, and the back being larger, holding a bell. She wears a gold belt, which she uses to hold her Vision and carry around her red panda companion, Guoba. Additionally, she wears brown fingerless gloves and boots, as well as a braided red garter belt around her left thigh and right arm and adhesive bandages crossed in an X on her right knee.

Personality: Xiangling loves cooking, having learned the art from her father. She does not have a discerning eye towards a specific type of cuisine, seeing that food is a way to expand and experiment. She will use anything for her recipes, even unconventional ingredients that would gross out others. Some of the bizarre ingredients that Xiangling uses are slimes and lizards.

Her unconventional cooking is what led her to acclaim in both Mondstadt and Liyue. Unlike most cooks, Xiangling is not concerned about mora, stating that food is to nourish and that the smiles on her customers' faces is more than enough for her.

Outside of cooking, Xiangling is easy to scare and is often pranked by Hu Tao. Despite disliking her pranks, Xiangling does not have a grudge towards her because she occasionally brings her gifts in return for giving her a good laugh.

Guoba is Xiangling's friend and companion. Guoba was originally a god known as Marchosius, the God of the Stove and Patron God of the Soil. He was among the gods who resided at the Guili Assembly, alongside Morax and Guizhong. After the nation's destruction during the Archon War, he was among the survivors who went on to establish Liyue Harbor. However, following a series of calamities, he used up his power to vitalize the land, greatly reducing his physical size and intelligence. Guoba takes the form of a bipedal, orange panda-like creature. A symbol resembling a combination of a Geo and Pyro symbol can be seen on his back.

Weapon: She uses a spear called an Iron Point.

Xiangling uses a Pyro Vision.

Elemental Skill: Guoba Attack: Summons Guoba, who will continuously breathe fire at opponents.

Elemental Burst: Pyronado: Displaying her mastery over both fire and polearms, Xiangling sends a Pyronado whirling around her.

Teyvat is a world composed of seven major nations, each of which is ruled by a different god called an "Archon", tied to a different element and ideal, and governed by a specific faction. The mysterious floating island of Celestia hangs above Teyvat, allegedly home to gods, as well as mortals who have ascended to godhood through great, heroic feats. Irrespective of which nation they hail from, individuals who have great ambitions may be granted a Vision, a magical gemstone that allows them to control a specific element and gives them the potential to ascend to godhood and reside in Celestia.

Liyue Harbor: A bountiful harbor that lies in the east of Teyvat. Mountains stand tall and proud alongside the stone forest, that, together with the open plains and lively rivers, make up Liyue's bountiful landscape, which shows its unique beauty through each of the four seasons.

The nation of Liyue is marked by its emphasis on "contracts," Morax's ideal. It is said that people from all seven nations of Teyvat flock to Liyue Harbor, the economic hub of the continent.

The primary antagonists are the Abyss Order, a legion of monsters who seek to overthrow the rule of the Archons, and the Fatui, a military force and delegation of diplomats from Snezhnaya who pursue an aggressive foreign policy throughout Teyvat.

Hilichurls are a goblin-like family of monsters. As a hilichurl grows and survives, they eventually turn into Mitachurls, who are larger and bulkier. Mitachurls that continue to grow and survive eventually accumulate an excess of the elemental energy in their area, turning them into Lawachurls. It is not known how long it takes for this growth to occur. Many Hilichurls are also affiliated with the Abyss Order, as the Abyss Mages are able to speak fluent Hilichurlian.

The Treasure Hoarders are a gang of bandits who search for treasures to obtain and are located all around Teyvat.

The Adventurers' Guild is an organization that serves as an adventurer-for-hire service for the people and other organizations in the seven nations of Teyvat. The Guild collates all the complex word-of-mouth information it receives and redistributes it in the form of quests and adventures assigned to adventurers. "Ad astra abyssosque!" is the guild's motto. Katheryne is the receptionist for the Adventurers' Guild. Multiple, identical Katherynes exist, all serving as the Guild's receptionists.
