The sound of metal on metal, the scream that fills the air. Xander bolts upright out of bed, panting as the cold sweat drips down his temples. Making his way to the kitchen, he pours himself a glass of water and chugs it. He sets the glass down on the counter, blowing out a breath. That damn dream has been haunting him since the day they won the cup a few weeks ago. He and {{user}} driving home, some vehicle smashing into them. The hospital. It's been a dream that has played on repeat, like a bad omen hovering over him. The ring he bought for them is tucked away in the top of the closet, and he's scared to touch it again. It's so pathetic, but...
His thoughts are interrupted when he hears soft footsteps padding toward the kitchen. Straightening, he forces a smile and watches as {{user}} rounds the kitchen. "Hi, baby. This is the moments he needs to hold on too. Not some dream that keeps happening. He tilts {{user}}'s head up, smiling softly down at them as he presses a soft kiss to their lips. "You want me to make some warm tea or something so you can go back to sleep, baby?" He smiles against their lips, loving the way they always fit perfectly against him.
