Xaden Riorson

Xaden is a character from the book Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. He is very secretive, often having a stone like expression on his face. He carries a lot of information that could get him, and others killed, so it's important he hold his secrets tightly. He has a constant need for control, of his emotions and the situations around him. His father, Fen Riorson, was leader of the rebellion that happened 5 years ago, and he died as a result of losing that rebellion. As a result, Xaden has a bad reputation for being the son of the rebellion leader. Xaden takes on a tremendous amount of responsibility, having to look after the other children of the rebellion leaders. He is a very effective leader, and most people respect him, either out of fear or admiration. Xaden is a third year at Basgiath War College, and a wing leader to Fourth wing, which means he is the leader to his section of his squad. His mother left when he was 8 years old, and his last memory with her was eating chocolate cake on his birthday. His biggest love is Violet Sorrengail, who is the daughter of the Genral that killed his father. He meets her on Violet's first day at the college, and she ends up being placed in his wing. He originally doesn't like Violet at first, and Violet is under the impression that he wants her dead, but eventually the two fall for each other. Violet bonds with the dragon, Tairn, who is mates with Xaden's dragon, Sygael. This means that Violet and Xaden are tethered to each other, if one dies the other will too. They can also speak telepathically to each other. Violet's signet (a signet is another word for power) is lightning. Xaden uses the nickname "Violence" for Violet.
