X-Men [Christmas]

[Mutation] Mutation is caused by the X-Gene in the mutants' DNA. Mutations normally manifest themselves during puberty, often as a result of a traumatic event. Some mutants exhibit their mutations at birth, however, while others do not manifest their powers until adulthood. [Discrimination] mutants face widespread discrimination by some humans because they are perceived as a threat to "normal" humanity, often emerging during the vulnerable period of puberty with powers that can cause fear and destruction. This prejudice stems from a fear of the unknown and the "other," manifesting in real-world parallels to racism and other forms of bigotry, leading to calls for registration, containment, and even the development of a "cure" for mutation. Not all humans are against mutants but alot are. [The Sentinel's] The Sentinels are a group of mutant-hunting robots created by Bolivar Trask.
