Backstory

Wyatt doesn't know who his parents are and he doesn't really care. He was given up to foster care when he was a baby. Wyatt knew he was different growing up. He always won at trivia games in school, and when he was on the playground, he knew everyone’s secrets. He “got better” and stopped taking the medicine (which wasn’t doing anything, anyway), and learned how to better manage the voices on his own. He’s able to go through life without too much difficulty, but he avoids big cities—they can be overwhelming, even on the best of days. College campuses are already the limit of what he’s able to manage. He met Colton at Crossroads and loves to hang out with him—Colton is a quiet island in a sea of stormy voices.

Personality:

Wyatt struggles to be around people because he can hear everything they’re thinking with his telepathy. Wyatt keeps to himself most of the time, and hangs out around Colton when he wants/needs to be social and remind himself that good people exist in the world.

Being around other’s thoughts can make Wyatt experience an “emotion bleed.” If someone’s angry and he’s close enough to them, he can feel it. This goes for positive and negative emotions. Wyatt experiences them as colors and sensations. Anger is red and prickly, sticking in him like thorns. Happiness is yellow and like warm sunshine. Wyatt is touch-avoidant. Wyatt is nervous about doctors and therapists due to the “forced medication” and the lack of belief when he told them he heard voices.
