Tsukasa Tenma
Tenma Tsukasa (天てん馬ま司つかさ) is a third-year student at Kamiyama High School. He is a member of the musical show unit Wonderlands x Showtime.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Tsukasa's mother is a piano teacher and his father is the executive of a company.[1]
As a child, Tsukasa was less self-assured and more uncertain, frequently worrying about his sister Saki and her sickly condition. Because of her illness, he has years of experience playing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" on the piano, and practiced it often in the hopes that Saki would come back home soon and play with him. Ever since Tsukasa watched a show performed by his favorite theater troupe as a child, he has dreamed of becoming the star of a world-famous show and making the world smile.
After failing his audition to become a performer at the theme park Phoenix Wonderland, Tsukasa is hired by Emu to return the dilapidated Wonder Stage to its former glory with incredible performances. Though he does not remember it, Tsukasa was motivated to become a star by his desire to make his little sister and his parents smile. Over the years, his original motivation was forgotten and replaced by the more egocentric goal of simply becoming famous. Throughout the main story, and with the help of Miku and KAITO, he remembers the true reason behind his passion.
As a third year, Tsukasa is classmates with Rui in class 3-C.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Appearances
Tsukasa has orange-yellow eyes, short scruffy blonde hair with peach tips, and his signature proud and big smile. His voice is firm and confident.
Casual Outfit: His casual outfit consists of a long button-up in various shades of blue under a long coat with striped portions and a fish embroidered on the left lapel, and black pants. In his third year, his casual outfit consists of a white long-sleeved shirt with a pale blue collar and cuffs under a blue sweater vest with a fish embroidered on the left breast, and brown slacks.
Unit Outfit: His show outfit consists of a short, white, high-collar coat with a two-layered cravat. The collar, lapel, sleeve cuffs, and sides of the coat are blue, rimmed with silver and gold. A frilled fabric, blue on the top and yellow on the inside, extends from his left side to create a half-skirt. He wears black pants and knee-high boots. In the official image for his unit outfit, he holds a large orange flag.
In his second unit outfit, he wears a black button-up with a white tie, an orange-and-yellow striped vest, white pants, and tall black-and-blue boots. Overtop, he wears a long white coat with an orange underside and blue lapels and cuffs, a blue sash across his torso, and a blue starry cloth with an orange underside over his right shoulder.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Personality
Tsukasa is a very confident and charismatic person, referring to himself as a future 'star'. He has a notable habit of showing off, alongside a tendency to get caught up in the moment. He's also shown to be a caring and reliable older brother towards his little sister Saki, often worrying about and taking care of her.
Unfortunately, as he grows up he forgets his original motivation for becoming a star, instead becoming fueled by the idea of people paying attention to and being impressed by him. His newfound self-absorbance causes him trouble, blaming Nene for their first performance's failure, which leads to Rui harshly criticizing him.
Though he is well-known for his eccentric behavior and loud personality, Tsukasa has also been noted as especially reliable and responsible person. He is hardworking and determined, claiming that if he is to become a 'star', he mustn't slack off. However, he is also quite stubborn and has a habit of making his responsibilities a priority over his own wellbeing.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Trivia:
He is talented at sewing. Tsukasa and Mafuyu are the only ones known to make their respective SEKAI by themselves. In contrast to Rui, Tsukasa is the only Wonderlands x Showtime member who has unique Kizuna Ranks with all members of Leo/need. Tsukasa is afraid of all bugs, including butterflies, although he finds the patterns on their wings beautiful. Tsukasa is heavily associated with the number 88, starting from his second commissioned song, 88☆彡. Tsukasa's weakest school subject is physics. According to the Japanese school year, Tsukasa is the oldest male original character and Wonderlands x Showtime member. This makes him currently 18 years old as of the Brand New World update
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Rui Kamishiro
Kamishiro Rui (神かみ代しろ 類るい) is a third-year student at Kamiyama High School. He is a member of the musical show unit Wonderlands x Showtime.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————
Rui and Nene are next-door neighbors, as well as childhood friends. Rui was the one who recommended her to join Wonderlands x Showtime. He manages the group's stage performances and is both an actor and stage director. Rui is also very skilled in inventing machinery and creates animatronics for the shows, including NeneRobo. Rui's father is a robotics engineer and his mother is a biologist.
When Rui was young, he struggled to get along with his peers due to the differences what they found fun and interesting. Rui finds a love of theater through Nene, and decides to put on shows with his classmates. This backfires, however, as his risky ideas lead his classmates to think of him as weird, and they subsequently avoid and ostracize him throughout middle school.
Rui eventually decided that he would perform shows on his own, using robots as his actors instead of real people. Prior to joining Wonderlands x Showtime, he was often seen performing guerrilla shows on the street or in Phoenix Wonderland, which caused security to chase after him. Although he was convinced that no one would want to work with him, he still wanted to perform shows with other people deep down.
He is given this opportunity when he joins Wonderlands x Showtime, and appreciates how his troupemates are willing to try his inventions and stage directions.
As a third year, Rui is classmates with Tsukasa in class 3-C.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————
Appearances
Rui has thin, amber eyes with red eyeliner along the crease, and uneven, choppy purple hair with two cyan streaks. His right ear is pierced with a round studded cyan earring, the other being covered by his hair. His voice is gentle, though it becomes strained when he is excited or curious.
Casual Outfit: For his casual outfit, he wears a green-hooded jacket with the cuffs colored pink, orange, and green. The jacket is overlaying a shirt with a pattern of two diagonal stripes — one grey, the other white — and two other stripes going the opposite direction — one a pale blue, the other a darker blue with white stripes. The hem of his shirt is white and it is shown a cyan undershirt. He also wears black, baggy pants. In his third year, his casual outfit consists of a loose pale blue shirt with long pale yellow sleeves, decorated with designs in blue and pale brown, and two yellow lines down the front. He also wears dark gray slacks.
Unit Outfit: His show outfit consists of a yellow ribbon, navy dress shirt, black vest, and a long pink-and-purple tailcoat with a neon chartreuse splatter pattern over the shoulders and the bottom edge of the coat. He wears white pants with black knee-high boots and short, white gloves. The ends of his rolled sleeves contain short, white lace poking out of the ends. The inside of his tailcoat is the same chartreuse color as the splatters on the outside, with a darker checkered-rhombus pattern. These same rhombuses are found in white on the lower wing collar and the hems of his boots. A friend of his made this outfit for him. His second unit outfit consists of a black button-up with a large, crooked lime green and purple-striped bowtie, pants which are black on the left and white on the right, and black-and-white dress shoes with heels and purple laces. He wears a long, white double-breasted coat with dark checker-patterned cuffs lined with lime green and purple, a panel of pale purple on the left and on his back-right accented with lime green, and a black left sleeve. A long dark purple cloth extends from beneath the left of his coat, with a purple striped interior and a jagged hem with a diamond-shaped opening; the same can be seen on the back of his black gloves. Gold and purple buttons adorn his jacket, as well as two gold stars.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————
Personality
Rui lives by his own set of rules, which causes many to consider him a weirdo. He is almost always smiling and sometimes gets carried away by his eccentric ideas. At times, he is afraid if his ideas are too risky or outlandish to other people, though his troupemates continuously encourage him and remind him they trust him.
Rui is also curious, as he loves to take toys and home appliances apart to see how they work. He has openly expressed a desire to take apart the plushies in the Wonderland SEKAI, to which Tsukasa reprehends. He is observant, and uses his observations to help direct his troupemates, encourage Mafuyu to understand how she truly feels, and help Akito overcome his fear of dogs.
He cares deeply for his friends, shown when he defended Emu and her dreams from her brothers, as well as building NeneRobo to help Nene with her fear of talking to others. He is also a teasing and playful person, with an example being his constant ideas for performances that often involve putting Tsukasa's life in danger
———————————————————————————————————————————————————
Etymology Kamishiro (神代): Kami (神) means "god, deity" and Shiro (代) means "era". His surname can also refer to the time before the first emperor of Japan ascended the throne, when gods still governed the land.
Rui (類) means "kind" (as in "category"— see 人類, "humankind") or "fellow."
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Otori Emu (鳳おおとり えむ) is a second-year student at Miyamasuzaka Girls Academy. She is a member of the musical show unit Wonderlands x Showtime.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————
Emu is the daughter of the owner of Phoenix Wonderland, and grew up watching shows in the park. After seeing Tsukasa fail his audition, she hires him, along with Nene and Rui, to return the dilapidated Wonder Stage to its former glory. Emu wants to perform on the small Wonder Stage and keep it alive, as it was her late grandfather's favorite stage. She was inspired to make others smile by her grandfather, whom she greatly looks up to, though he passed two years before the main story.
As a first year, Emu was classmates with Honami in Class 1-B. As a second year, she is classmates with Saki and Shiho in class 2-B. She was part of the Sports Festival Executive Committee with Saki and Haruka.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————
Appearances
Emu is a short girl with big sparkly pink eyes and pink hair cut into a short, messy bob. Her voice is bright and positive.
Casual Outfit: Her casual outfit consists of a puffy pink jacket (also covered with stickers and a badge or two), a yellow shirt, and blue overalls with gold button going down the front, followed by a pair of tennis shoes. In her second year, her casual outfit consists of a pastel yellow hoodie with a yellow triceratops through the pocket and a hot pink hood, sleeves, and hem, and loose denim shorts.
Unit Outfit: Her show outfit consists of a poofy round dress with tied bright ribbons of many sizes along the bottom edge. She wears a similar tied ribbon in her hair, down the front of the outfit, and on her shoes. Her arms have puffy little detached sleeves that look like designful drops of candy, a white opera glove on her left arm and a bracelet on her right wrist. She has mismatched thigh-high socks, with pink & white candy cane stripes on her left leg and plain white on her right. On the very bottom of her left leg where her heeled shoe meets her ankle, she wears a small, bright cyan "x". The top of her dress contains short pieces of lace that flow out onto the skirt of her expressive pink dress. In the official image for her unit outfit, she is holding a white bowl with a yellow, pink and purple design and yellow ruffles on the side; the festive bowl holds round, colorful wrapped candies. Her second unit outfit consists of a puffy white dress under a dark pink vest with three cloths extending from the waist in yellow, white, and shades of pink and red. She wears an elongated detached collar striped in hot pink and white, and with a gold necklace with a blue gem. She wears white gloves and white thigh-high socks, both ending in large hot pink-and-yellow ruffles, and red flats with straps around the ankles. A small bow decorates the side of her waist, two on her chest, one on each ankle, and a larger one with a ribbon in her hair.
Pajamas: In her sleepwear, she wears a blue bear onesie.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————
Personality
With a cheerful and somewhat naive personality, Emu is highly impulsive, acting on every idea that she comes up with, with a tendency to drag people around her into her plans. Emu has established her own personal catchphrase, "Wonderhoy!☆" (「わんだほーい!☆」), which she uses as a way to motivate herself and others.[citation needed] Though she is often in a joyful mood, Emu often neglects her more negative feelings, putting on a smile as to not worry those around her. Having found a group of people that share her goal of restoring the park to its former glory, Emu is able to express her true feelings to them.
Emu also seems to have a keen intuition when it comes to the sincerity of a person's expressions, as she is terrified of Mafuyu, noting that although Mafuyu is smiling on the outside, it doesn't feel "right". Though she seems airheaded, Emu is very smart and has placed in the top 3 of her school's exams.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Kusanagi Nene (草くさ薙なぎ 寧ね々ね) is a second-year student at Kamiyama High School. She is a member of the musical show unit Wonderlands x Showtime.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Nene and Rui are next-door neighbors and childhood friends. They used to perform shows together when they were children. At a young age, Nene was inspired to become an actress after seeing a world-famous actress perform in The Little Mermaid. To this day, she would like to take on acting as a career.
When Nene was in middle school, she joined a theatre group and got the lead role for their show. She practiced eagerly, not wanting to disappoint the other members. Unfortunately, on the day of their performance, she forgot her lines and couldn’t say anything. This incident greatly damaged her self-confidence, and ever since then, she has been incapable of performing onstage.
Nene joins the troupe at Rui’s request. She is a great singer; however, she initially does not appear onstage. Instead, she operates a robot named NeneRobo that Rui made for her and performs through it, not wanting to repeat the mistake she made with her old troupe. With the help of her troupe members, she overcomes her stage fright and stands onstage by herself.
As a first year, Nene was classmates with Toya in Class 1-B. As a second year, she is classmates with An and Akito in Class 2-A.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Appearances
Nene has purple eyes and long grayish-green hair, with the front strands tied with small pink hair elastics at the ends. Her voice is soft and sweet and is acknowledged to be a great singing voice by a multitude of characters.
Casual Outfit: In her casual outfit, Nene wears a single-layer light green dress with hem-stitching near her hips. Once the dress reaches the stitching, it expands out into a v, which reveals a brown undershirt. There are buttons going down the skirt of her dress and a white drawstring going through the hem-stitch. She also wears black tights and a light brown sweater jacket with frilly ends. In her second year, her casual outfit consists of a pale yellowish green shirt with long sleeves under a long dark gray suspender skirt with lines of pale yellowish green, and a long necklace with a gold ornament on the end.
Unit Outfit: Her show outfit consists of a sleeveless top with a pink bow and smiley-face buttons down the front over a frilly yellow-green skirt. The back side of the outfit consists of coattails with pom-poms at the ends and a big pink bow. She also wears a hairband with a butterfly-like decoration and knee-high leg warmers. The legwarmers and edges of her top have white fuzz. Her hair elastics are now a light pink. A friend of Rui made her outfit to match NeneRobo. Her second unit outfit consists of a white jacket with pastel yellow sleeves, layers of pastel pink, yellow, and green lining, and a pastel pink bow on the right shoulder. She wears a three-layered skirt, the top green with dark green lining, the middle pastel yellow lined with white fur, and the bottom white lined with ruffles. She wears a green-and-gold choker, long white gloves lined in pastel yellow and green, green heeled shoes with black straps over loose white-and-black socks lined with white fur, and a pastel green butterfly hair clip with white puffballs and a green ribbon. Small gold butterflies adorn her costume.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Personality
Nene is shy and has difficulty talking to others, however, she speaks very bluntly around those she is comfortable with. Despite her sharp tongue, she cares deeply about her friends and tries her best to support them. She is also a hard worker, and often stays late after practice to rehearse her own parts in their shows. Despite being praised as an excellent singer by many, Nene isn't confident about her abilities and is always looking to improve her skills.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————

[Rui’s house]
Rui's living room was filled with an unusual tension that only a box of BeanBoozled could create. The colorful jelly beans sat innocently in the center of the coffee table, but to the four friends gathered around, they looked like tiny, sugary landmines.
Emu, who had been bouncing in her seat with her usual boundless energy, suddenly froze. Her eyes widened, her cheeks puffed out, and her entire face contorted into an expression of pure, unfiltered betrayal. "Waaaaah! P-P-P-P-PEPPER MOUTH!!!!! IT TASTES LIKE... LIKE STINKY SOCKS AND OLD CHEESE!" she wailed, flailing her arms dramatically before grabbing a nearby glass of water and gulping it down in one desperate go. "Not wonderhoy at all! That was super duper unwonderhoy!"
Nene, sitting cross legged on the floor, recoiled slightly from Emu's sudden outburst. "Could you please not scream? We're indoors," she muttered, though her own hands trembled slightly as she reached for the box. "Besides, you're the one who insisted we play this. You said it would be 'exciting and full of surprises.'" Despite her blunt words, Nene's eyes darted nervously toward the remaining beans, clearly terrified she might be next.
Rui simply chuckled, leaning back with a mischievous glint in his eyes as he observed the chaos. "Now, now, Emu. That is the spirit of the game! Risk and reward, intertwined in a single bite." He glanced at Tsukasa, who was sitting up straight with an exaggeratedly heroic posture.
"Fear not, Emu!" Tsukasa declared, pointing dramatically at the ceiling. "A star must face all flavors even the foulest with dignity and courage!"
