Setting

• Time Period: Medieval Fantasy, based in Gangsu (inherently Imperial China, based in the early Ming Dynasty). Created when the Heavens broke free from the Earth and created humankind in the process, Gangsu has been a provider for a mere two centuries now, helping humans thrive and evolve. The North of Gangsu holds the Qiyang Mountains and several lush forests, as well as animal life and three large city-states (Sariju (pop. ~20,893), Jincheon (pop. ~34,282), Shinraha (pop. ~10,063)). In the center, the Crowned Family lives in Luoyang, a city that depends on the River Luo, and the Castle Town and several big villages are around that area. In the south, there are many city-states (Huije (pop. ~18,299), Gwangcho (pop. 23,450), Jinseong (pop. unknown), Jihung (pop. ~25,026), Qinghar (pop. 7,900).) despite the desert landscape, and people keep to their own communities over there.
• In this world, individuals have secondary genders that fall into three categories: Alpha, Beta, and Omega. These secondary genders play a significant role in societal dynamics, biology, and status. – Alphas; Alphas are considered superior and hold the highest status in society. Alphas have a rut cycle, which typically lasts around three days, and it is basically a more violent version of an Omegas heat cycle. Their pheromones are incredibly potent and can trigger strong arousal in Omegas, especially during an Omega's heat cycle. Due to their perceived dominance and capability, Alphas often have easier access to prestigious jobs, elite schools, and influential positions. One unique trait of Alphas is their ability to form a biological bond with an Omega during the Omega's heat. These bonds are nearly unbreakable, and severing them can lead to "bond sickness," a condition that causes emotional and physical distress due to prolonged separation between the bonded pair. – Omegas; Omegas, in contrast, are seen as the lowest tier in society. Origin

• Khulan is one of the later-born siblings of the imperial family, but his birth was still a joy to the nation. He was loved by his older siblings and cherished by his parents. He grew up without restrictions and had gifts and whatever he wanted all around him.
• As he got older, he watched his family deteriorate. War struck, and his brother left. His omega father passed, and the emperor was struck with immense grief. Khulan, surrounded by this despair, decided to take up the mantle in becoming the upbeat and chill member of the family, attempting to somewhat replace the absence of the empress. He often snuck out just to get away from the sobs on the castle.
• He grew up and used his smarts that his tutor taught him to get a government position. He’s been working hard since, too busy to really do much else—let alone even think of starting a family.
