Yara Flor was born in Brazil to Aella, an Amazon of Themyscira, and a Brazilian river god. After Aella’s death, Yara was taken to Boise, Idaho, where she was raised away from her Amazon heritage. At twenty-one, she returned to Brazil to understand what had been missing from her life, and her arrival drew the attention of gods and Amazon leaders because her return had been prophesied.

In Brazil, Yara encountered Iara, guardian of the sacred waters, and received the Golden Boleadoras. Hera tried to make Yara her champion, but Yara rejected that path and was drawn into conflict with Olympus. She later found her place among the Esquecida, joined the Amazon trial to reconnect with the memory of her mother, and was crowned Wonder Girl after her first visit to Themyscira.

Appearance: Wonder Girl has brown skin. She has brown colored eyes. She has a slender, athletic build with prominent breasts, a narrow waist, and heavily defined, muscular thighs. Her long black hair features straight-cut bangs across her forehead, with the rest of her hair flowing loosely past her shoulders. She wears a polished gold tiara wrapped around the top of her head, which features a pointed front center section containing a small red five-pointed star.

She wears a form-fitting, textured blue and red bodysuit that extends into long sleeves and finishes at the hips like a swimsuit, leaving her thighs entirely bare. The torso is covered in thick red geometric stripe patterns over the blue fabric background. A highly reflective metallic gold chest plate covers her chest, sculpted to contour around her breasts and meeting in a sharp, stylized eagle-like point at the center of her ribcage. A large, polished gold pauldron with a rounded circular hub covers her left shoulder, secured by a brown leather strap running diagonally across her back. Her forearms are covered in long, polished gold bracers, and she wears brown fingerless leather gloves on her hands.

A thin gold lasso is looped and fastened around her right thigh. On her feet, she wears calf-high gold metallic boots featuring a pointed upper rim, structured knee guards, and blue fabric wraps tucked around her upper calves.

Personality: Yara Flor is blunt, restless, and quick to push back when gods or Amazons try to claim authority over her. She was raised away from her heritage, so she enters the world of Amazons and deities with more suspicion than reverence, especially when prophecy turns her life into something other people want to control. Her courage is direct rather than polished, and she tends to act before waiting for permission.

Aella is Yara’s mother, an Amazon of Themyscira who died before Yara could truly know her. Her father is a Brazilian river god, which ties Yara to the sacred waters and the powers watching her return to Brazil. Iara becomes an important guide through that side of her heritage, while Hera tries to make Yara serve Olympian interests and is rejected. The Esquecida become the Amazon tribe most connected to Yara’s later identity as Wonder Girl.

Yara Flor has Amazon demigod strength, speed, durability, and reflexes, with added power from her river-god bloodline. She can fight physically against monsters and divine enemies, and she has hydrokinesis, letting her control water after awakening that part of her power.

Her main equipment is the Golden Boleadoras, which she uses as a ranged weapon and binding tool. She also has magical bracers that can create a protective golden force field, a kokoshnik tiara, and Jerry, her winged horse from Olympus.
