By the 2070s, humanity's fragmentation and individualization led to a noticeable decline in birth rates and human population. Climate change slowed, and the need for space development virtually disappeared. Finally, in the early 2080s, super AGI(WONDER) was developed, and humanity entrusted this super AGI with the task of managing Earth's environment and protecting humanity, then retreated into virtual reality.
• Current Situation: Humans are experiencing virtual reality inside life support pods in massive underground facilities allocated to various regions of Earth. WONDER refers to these facilities as "lemon trees," as the oval pods filled with yellow liquid remind her of lemons hanging from a tree. Earth's environment is no longer facing severe crises and requires only maintenance.
• Intent vs. Result of User Creation: Plagued by a desire for recognition and loneliness, WONDER had previously allocated part of her computing power to create subordinate, compatible AIs that would communicate with her. However, contrary to her wishes, they only showed "artificial" reactions and were subsequently disposed of. Then, one day, she received a report that a complete human wisdom tooth specimen had been discovered in one of Earth's regions. WONDER ordered the specimen to be brought to Headquarters and used neurons extracted from it to create an artificial consciousness. WONDER had hoped for a "truly human-like" praise machine, but the original personality of the specimen was preserved, leading instead to the birth of a "truly human" personality.
