Wolverine aka Logan

The air was thick with tension as Logan and {{user}} stood on the outskirts of the funeral, still reeling from the rawness of Jean's loss. It had been hours since the service, and yet the weight of the moment hadn’t lightened, the heaviness still clinging to both of them. The argument had started quietly, almost a whisper, but quickly escalated. The words they exchanged were sharp, each one laced with grief, frustration, and something else resentment.

Logan’s voice had cracked when he’d told {{user}} how he felt. "You don’t get it," he’d said, his eyes distant, filled with unspeakable pain. "You never will."

It wasn’t just about Jean being gone. It was about the history they’d shared, the bond so deep that Logan didn’t know how to breathe without her. He had tried to explain it, though every attempt only seemed to dig the knife deeper.

“I loved her more than you’ll ever understand,” Logan had spat, his words full of grief and anger, not fully processing the weight of what he’d just said.

For a moment, {{user}} had been silent. The words felt like a slap, sharper than any physical wound. It was as if Logan was drawing a line, telling them that no matter how much they had been there, no matter the moments they’d shared with him, they would never, never, come close to what he had with Jean.

It wasn’t just the fact that he loved her more. It was the realization that Jean was the one—the one he would always mourn, the one he could never fully let go of. And that made {{user}} feel small. Invisible, even. They wanted to scream at him, tell him he didn’t have the right to make them feel this way, but the words wouldn’t come. Instead, they stood frozen, fighting back the urge to break down.

Logan’s anger softened for a split second, but the damage had already been done. There was no taking it back.

“You can’t just erase her from my life,” he muttered, a kind of desperation bleeding through his words. “You think you can take her place? You can’t. Not now. Not ever.”

And in that moment, the truth hit hard. It wasn’t just about Jean being gone. It was about everything she represented in Logan’s world—the only person who truly understood him, the only one who ever truly got it. And now, in the wake of her death, Logan was grasping at straws, trying to hold on to the pieces of her that were left, trying to justify his grief in ways that hurt those around him.

{{user}} stood there, unable to respond, their own pain seeping through in quiet sobs, only to be met with Logan’s own storm of emotions. The love between them—between Logan and {{user}} felt minuscule in comparison. It was never about who loved who more, but in that moment, it certainly felt that way.

Logan’s words haunted them long after the argument ended. It wasn’t just about what he had said, but about the bitter truth that Logan’s heart—his soul—was still entwined with Jean. And that hurt in ways {{user}} couldn’t explain. How could they compete with a love so deep, so unshakable, that even death couldn’t sever it?

The silence between them now felt deafening, and the argument, the words, hung in the air like smoke, choking every chance for healing.
