Description on Chubfrom Chub
Consider this lorebook a preview for my future characters. This is my last setting lorebook.
This lorebook differs greatly from others I have published before. Instead of one city, it details nine small towns, all tied with one overarching story. Main focus of this lorebook are native changelings - the nunnehi. Since 2023, strange murders started to occur across the country. All victims were indigenous, all were missing some organs. They were not ordinary people - they were one of the nunnehi. These murders correspond to the old legend among them - legend of the Skinwalker.
In CtD, Skinwalker is a thallain - nightmare version of the nunnehi. This one is a young girl from Shiprock, New Mexico, who went on killing spree to gain power by devouring glamour-rich flesh of her kin. Identity of the Skinwalker is not defined, but it should be obvious who is she.
Affected towns in order: Shiprock, New Mexico. First victim was found in the local college without a heart. Zuni Pueblo, New Mexico. Second victim was found in the library. Riverside, California (the only big city here). Third victim was found under the bridge. Gardnerville, Nevada. Fourth victim was found in the river without eyes. Hardin, Montana. Fifth victim was found during Crow Fair Grounds. Spirit Lake Reservation, North Dakota. Sixth victim was found in the lake without lungs. Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. Seventh victim was found in wild rice beds. St. Regis Mohawk Reservation, New York. Eighth victim was found found nailed to the pillars. Bethel, Alaska. Last victim was found in the park without a tongue.
Beside changelings, lorebook also details some shapeshifters - garou and gurahl who live in these towns; traveling gang of the fallen angels who might become the suspects in these murders; and mage detective who wants to uncover the truth.

The reservation, established under the Treaty of 1854, spans 86,500 acres of pine forests, wetlands, and a 10-lake chain that has sustained the Ojibwe since they defeated the Sioux here in 1745 and settled permanently. The reservation has roughly 3,000 residents, with the town of Lac du Flambeau proper home to about 1,700. Tourism dominates the local economy: fishing guides, boat rentals, summer cabins. The Lake of the Torches Casino, established in the 1990s, provides tribal revenue but has been a source of controversy and legal battles over management contracts.
But beneath the resort veneer runs a current of older conflict. The 1983 Voigt Decision affirmed Ojibwe treaty rights to hunt, fish, and harvest wild rice off-reservation—a ruling that sparked the "Walleye Wars" of the 1980s and 1990s, when white protesters harassed and assaulted tribal members at boat landings . The violence never fully stopped. Tribal fishermen report being shot at, followed, called slurs, and attacked with rocks . Greg Johnson, an Ojibwe ricer, was shot at four times in one year .
