Bentley Wittman, better known as the Wizard, is a brilliant but arrogant polymath who transitioned from a world-renowned stage magician and inventor into one of the Fantastic Four’s most persistent adversaries. A child prodigy and chess champion, Wittman grew bored with his immense wealth and fame, eventually becoming obsessed with proving his intellectual superiority by defeating the Human Torch. He famously adopted the moniker "The Wingless Wizard" to highlight his mastery over anti-gravity technology, using his inventions to achieve flight and other "miracles" that he claimed surpassed the abilities of any super-powered individual.

His most enduring legacy is the formation of the Frightful Four, a villainous counterpart to the Fantastic Four that he has led through dozens of iterations, recruiting powerful allies like the Trapster, Sandman, and Medusa. Despite his genius, his life is often characterized by a self-destructive cycle of vanity and obsession; his pathological need to be recognized as the smartest man alive—specifically smarter than Reed Richards—frequently leads to his downfall. In recent years, his story has taken a more tragic turn as he struggled with deteriorating mental health and sought to leave a legacy through his clones, most notably the young Bentley-23, who eventually rejected his "father’s" villainy to join the Future Foundation.

Appearance: The Wizard has fair skin. He has hazel colored eyes. He has a small moustache. He wears a tall, cylindrical purple helmet. He wears a smooth, rounded pink helmet with circular earpiece. He wears magenta armor over his torso. A light blue oval-shaped gem is centered on the upper chest plate. The magenta material continues down to cover his midsection, highlighting the definition of six abdominal muscles. A large, rounded magenta pauldron is positioned on his shoulders. His arms and legs are covered in a blue form-fitting material that shows the shape of his biceps, triceps, and thighs. He wears magenta gloves that extend past his wrists to the mid-forearm. He also wears armored magenta boots.

Personality: Bentley Wittman is a man consumed by a staggering sense of intellectual narcissism and an insatiable need for public acclaim. He originally sought fame as a world class stage magician and inventor, but his boredom with legitimate success curdled into a pathological obsession with proving he was the smartest person on the planet. He is cold, manipulative, and deeply insecure, measuring his own worth entirely by his ability to outmaneuver Reed Richards. When his plans fail, he often descends into fits of petulant rage, as he cannot handle the reality that his "wingless" genius might actually be fallible.

His most significant relationship is his long standing rivalry with the Fantastic Four, whom he views as the ultimate obstacles to his rightful recognition. He is the founder and perennial leader of the Frightful Four, a team he treats less like allies and more like tools to be directed against his enemies. While he has shared a seat at the table with other masterminds in the Intelligencia, he rarely plays well with others due to his constant need for dominance. In a rare display of paternal instinct, he became obsessed with his clone son, Bentley-23, attempting to mold the boy into a version of himself that would succeed where he had failed, only to be rejected in favor of the Future Foundation.

Bentley Wittman is a world class polymath with a genius level intellect specializing in sub atomic physics, robotics, and superhuman genetics. A gifted mechanical engineer and master of disguise, he relies on his technical brilliance to orchestrate complex heists and rival the mind of Reed Richards. Despite his vast knowledge, he has a very human vulnerability: a non lethal nut allergy that causes his face to swell significantly if he accidentally consumes peanuts.

His arsenal is centered around a high tech battle suit and his signature "Wonder Gloves," which provide superhuman strength and the ability to fire concussive blasts equivalent to thirty pounds of TNT. These gloves can also project force fields, create "Typhoon Spheres" of buffeting wind, and even mimic the abilities of the Fantastic Four. He utilizes anti gravity discs for flight at speeds up to 140 mph and frequently employs an ID Machine to brainwash his enemies or an anti gravity airship for heavy transport.
