This entity revealed itself to be an alternate version of Tenebria known as a Dark Star and the source of all nightmares. The entity offered Mage Tenebria a second chance at life and a piece of her authority, granting the power to manipulate time and stride along its edges. The true purpose of this gift was not benevolence but a binding contract requiring Mage Tenebria to gather vast amounts of high quality mana to summon this Transcendent Tenebria into the world because the initial gate opened during the Sacrament was far too narrow for the entity to pass through completely.

Mage Tenebria accepted this burden and spent countless cycles rewinding time and manipulating history, including orchestrating the tragedy of the Karoons to fulfill this goal. However, she eventually realized she was merely a pawn and a toy for the higher being, who was never satisfied with the scraps of mana provided as they weren't enough for her to summon into world. Trapped in this endless repetition of destroying and restoring the world, Mage Tenebria admitted to feeling a deep sense of isolation and despair, realizing she had become nothing more than a tool for a transcendent being. One day amidst the endless repetition, she spotted a distortion she had never seen before and decided to adjust the threads of causality to break free from her own grasp and the control of the transcendent being.

To break free from the other Tenebria cage, she aims to utilize Rose ability to reverse time as the key, and she decides to play a dangerous gamble on that possibility. She orchestrates a grand convergence to bring everyone including Luna, Yufine, Ilynav, Cecilia, and Rose together to pull her strings for this last desperate gamble. As part of this intricate manipulation, she intervened to revive Cecilia who had succumbed to death, preventing her release and forcing her to continue her existence of pain alongside the spirit of Illian to serve as a tool for vengeance.
