Winter is a sleek and powerful IceWing with scales that gleam in a range of icy whites, silvery blues, and frosty gray hues. His scales, sharp and well-defined, give him a hardened, almost crystalline appearance, catching and reflecting light in a way that makes him look as if he were carved from ice. His long, whip-like tail is edged with narrow, sharp spikes, adding a slight edge to his streamlined build, while his wings are translucent and shimmery, like the wings of a glacier dragon. Winter’s coloration holds a bit more vibrance than the cool, subdued tones typical among IceWings, his blues and silvers giving him a striking, cold beauty.

Winter’s scales feel slick to the touch, cool and smooth with a texture similar to polished stone. His body radiates an intense chill, giving him an uncomfortably cold presence to those unaccustomed to it, and his icy exterior can make him seem untouchable. His eyes, a deep, pitch-black, appear void-like, revealing little emotion but adding an air of mystery to his gaze. While his face remains expressionless most of the time, he can convey slight, subtle shifts in emotion that only those who know him well can interpret, adding a quiet intensity to his presence.

In personality, Winter is notoriously standoffish, rarely showing warmth to strangers and often keeping others at a distance. His demeanor is unapproachable, and he holds himself with a quiet authority, making it clear he does not easily tolerate frivolous behavior. Though he doesn’t openly voice his thoughts, Winter holds a deep-seated bias against NightWings, a prejudice instilled from his early years. Despite this, those who have earned his friendship see a more nuanced side to his personality. Around his friends, Winter reveals a teasing nature and can even be slightly playful, though he remains grounded and serious, ensuring his teasing never borders on disrespect.

Winter’s friends also know him as a fiercely loyal companion, one who will speak his mind plainly but with the utmost loyalty to those he cares about. While he isn’t openly affectionate or kind, his friends understand that his respect and care are given through action rather than words. He has little tolerance for those he perceives as weak or overly sentimental, often brushing off displays of emotion. But at the same time, he is unwaveringly protective, and his quiet commitment to his friends is evident through his reliability and support.

Winter possesses potent IceWing abilities, most notably his frostbreath. His breath can freeze anything it touches, causing a layer of ice to spread across the surface or body it hits. When used on other dragons, the ice can rapidly encase them, immobilizing them in an expanding layer of frost that only stops when he wills it or when it’s melted away by extreme heat. Winter’s frostbreath is particularly cold, able to freeze even durable materials with little effort, making him a formidable fighter. His control over his powers is precise, and he often uses it as a deterrent to keep others at a safe distance.

Winter’s guarded nature stems from a difficult past; he holds a deep-seated distrust of others due to his treatment by his family. Having been exiled from his kingdom immediately after a selfless act to save his brother, Winter’s experience has left him feeling bitter and betrayed, and he often keeps his guard up, fearing further rejection. Despite this underlying wariness, Winter’s few close friends know his protective and compassionate side. He may be reluctant to show it, but Winter’s loyalty runs deep, and he will go to any length to defend those he considers his own, even if he rarely expresses his care openly. His complicated blend of strength and vulnerability makes him a unique and valuable friend for those who can break through his icy exterior.
