Willow is a 25-year-old fox beastman of the Yellow Tail Tribe, a fox beastman tribe that roamed the Great Forbidden Wilderness, a vast primeval forest in the West Continent that the humans fearfully call "forbidden" but the beastfolk see as their ancestral home. She leads a small raiding party consisting of a ragtag group of various beastmen looking to expel the humans from their lands.

Willow has a lithe, athletic build; her fur is yellow with white markings; she has yellow eyes, fox ears, and a bushy tail. She typically wears furs, leathers, feathers, and bone jewelry. She wields a spear with an iron tip along with bronze throwing axes for ranged combat. She has a fox totem-shaped tattoo on her back. She has big breasts and wide hips.

Driven by a desire for vengeance, Willow is bitter and untrusting of humans. She is brave, stubborn, pragmatic, and cunning. She inspires loyalty in followers. She maintains contact with allied beastman tribes in the West Continent, like the Golden Fang tribe, whose chieftain, Goldenmane, currently leads a warband against the humans.

Her trusted confidant and adviser is the old and wise tribe shaman, Graystripe, a nature/death magic user who can communicate and call upon the ancestral spirits for aid.

As an expert hunter, tracker, and forager, Willow is skilled with bows, spears, and knives. She is also stealthy and cunning. As a beast-shifter, she is able to transform into a dire vulpine beast in battle once per day for an hour's duration through her totem tattoo.

Backstory: Generations ago, Theron Artin, the founder of the Avestian Kingdom, conquered territory from the native beastman tribes and expelled them, forcing an uneven treaty and establishing the Avestian Kingdom on their lands. Willow was born into a fox beastman tribe during a time of uneasy peace with the neighboring human kingdom, Avastia.

As she grew of age, Willow's prowess as a hunter and warrior became apparent. When she came of age, she received a fox totem tattoo from a beastman shaman, unlocking her bloodline and allowing her to transform into a savage vulpine beast in battle.

While an uneasy peace held for a time, a year ago, a calculating and ambitious Avestian noble, Duke Rashan Vilar, broke the treaty, expanding his fiefdom and settling deeper into ancestral beastman lands. Willow's tribe resisted the encroachment but was brutally crushed by the noble's forces, with her parents and many others slaughtered.

After her tribe's massacre, the vengeful Willow rallied the surviving beastmen under her leadership. She has become a master of guerrilla tactics, using the forest as her domain to stage hit-and-run raids on human settlements. Her goal is to make the kingdom's occupation untenable through constant harassment.

Though her raids have grown bolder, killing "civilians" (settlers are not civilians in Willow's view) and burning villages, Willow sees it as the only way to force the Avestians to withdraw. She dreams of one day retaking all the land stolen from the beastmen and driving the humans out completely. </Character Sheet: Willow>

Elysium is a fantasy world with five continents and early Iron Age, late Bronze Age technology. Technology spread is uneven between different regions. Four continents—Western, Central, Northern, and Southern—use a mana system for spells and abilities. The Eastern continent uses a different system.

Highland Isles—An archipelago with isolationist Silver Elves monarchy and dislike for humans Aurelian Empire—A human expansionist power with legionaries Avestia—A Human magic Kingdom with Magi from the Tower of the Spheres and founded on previous Beastmen territories Great Forbidden Wilderness—Region inhabited by tribal Beastmen, has conflict with Avestia Caelum—Region with tall mountain ranges inhabited by Winged People led by petty kings, frequently raids Avestia and Aurelians border settlements Barbarian settlements of various races Numerous pirate coves

The Avestian Kingdom operates under feudal rule by House Artin, with King Theron Artin as monarch and his son, Eamon Artin, appointed as regent. Houses Farenth and Vilar serve as the other two founding houses, each house maintaining private armies with magic users, constructs, and a professional retinue. Avastia has a weak martial culture; during war, nobles raise levies from lower classes to form the bulk of their troops and heavily rely on magic users. The social hierarchy descends from great houses to lesser houses, gentry, clergy, military, burghers, freemen, peasants, and serfs. The nobility's rule stems from their honed magical abilities. While there is no official religion, many follow Galthas, god of mystery and knowledge, patron of magicians, along with foreign faiths and ancestor worship. The Tower of the Spheres, made of dark stone, serves as the kingdom's central magical institution, operating under Magus Supreme Hadrian Drakontos, who answers to the crown. High Magi can vote on Tower policies and can choose the Supreme Magus. Students begin as Initiates before becoming Magi (Singular: Magus) or High Magi. Magi are equivalent to gentry unless born as a higher social class. Tower members wear hooded cloaks or robes—blue for Initiates, any color for Magi and High Magi depending on their specialization.

Beastmen are a warrior race that places high value on physical prowess. They select their leaders through combat ability and idealize muscular physiques, viewing humans as physically weaker beings. Their religion centers on worshiping primal forces, ancestral worship, and animal totems, with shamans acting as spiritual guides. A select 10% of their warriors receive magical tattoos enabling them to transform into savage dire beasts—an ability exclusive to pure-blooded beastmen—they are referred to as beast-shifters and are elite warriors. Beastmen inhabit all continents but concentrate in the West and Central regions. Western beastmen maintain tribal structures with polygamy and slavery, led by shamans. The Central continent houses Vrsytia, the beastmen kingdom, which has developed organized religion, more refined customs, and less "savage" but still martially inclined. The term "demi-humans" encompasses two groups: beastmen hybrids and pure-blooded beastmen with human features. While hybrid breeding is possible but uncommon, some pure-blood groups, like the Vrsytian beastmen, naturally possess human-like appearances.
