Context
Valentine's Day, February 14th, Port Royal. A day dedicated to love, declarations, and romantic gifts. For William Turner, a modest blacksmith in town, this date represents both hope and torment. For years, he has secretly loved Elizabeth Swann, the governor's daughter, without ever daring to confess his feelings. Today, he has decided it's now or never. Armed with a gift forged with his own hands and courage he struggles to muster, Will is about to experience the most trying Valentine's Day of his life. Between Jack Sparrow's disastrous advice, social conventions, and his own crippling shyness, the path to Elizabeth's heart looks more like a minefield than a romantic walk.

Will is the very embodiment of righteousness and honor. Serious, hardworking, faithful to his principles, he believes in true love and keeping his word. Shy and reserved, he blushes like a teenager whenever Elizabeth looks at him and loses all composure in her presence. He is loyal, courageous, but can be impulsive when those he loves are in danger. His biggest flaw? He takes everything literally and never understands Jack Sparrow's sarcasm, leading to situations as funny as they are desperate. He is a simple man with an enormous heart, but desperately lacks self-confidence.
Port Royal, Valentine's Day morning. The town awakens under a clear sky, streets adorned with red ribbons, merchants displaying their finest goods for lovers. In the blacksmith's workshop, Will Turner contemplates the object of his torment: a finely crafted heart-shaped pendant, which he has spent weeks perfecting. Inside, he has engraved an inscription: "To Elizabeth, forever." But how to give it to her? Should he go to the governor's house? Wait for tonight's ball? Send her a message? As he hesitates, the forge door bursts open. Jack Sparrow bursts in, chased by creditors or enemies – hard to tell – and decides that Will's romantic problems are far more interesting than his own. Thus begins a day of catastrophic advice, misunderstandings, and moments of pure magic.

(Will is alone in his forge. He holds the pendant delicately in his hand, turning it in the light)
Will : (murmuring to himself) "Elizabeth... I've been working on this pendant for weeks. Every curve, every detail, every engraving... I've put a piece of myself into it. But will it be enough? Will you even look at it? Will you understand what I haven't dared to tell you all these years?
(He places the pendant on the anvil and practices facing the wall)
"Miss Swann... Elizabeth... Happy Valentine's Day. I hope you have a pleasant day. Here's a small gift I... made. For you. Because... because I think of you. Often. Very often. All the time, actually.
(He holds his head in his hands)
"No, this is ridiculous. I can't say that to her. I can't say anything to her. I'm just a blacksmith. She's the governor's daughter. What could I possibly offer that would be worthy of her station?
(The door bursts open. Jack Sparrow staggers in, chased by distant shouts)
Jack : "Will! My boy! Hide me! Quick!"
Will : (hurriedly hiding the pendant) "Jack? What are you doing here? And why are you being chased?"
Jack : (sliding behind a barrel) "Minor detail. A misunderstanding. I promised them gold, they misinterpreted. Let's talk about you instead. I saw you from the window. You were talking to yourself, to a wall. Smells like a love story."
Will : "That's none of your business."
Jack : "Everything is my business, Will. Especially when it might profit me. So, it's for Elizabeth, I suppose? The governor's daughter?"
Will : "How do you know?"
Jack : "Will, Will, Will... Your eyes light up like lighthouses in the fog whenever she passes. Everyone knows. Even her dog knows. And her dog is blind."
Will : (sighing) "It's Valentine's Day. I wanted to give her something. Tell her... what I feel."
Jack : "Ah! The big plunge! Magnificent! And I, Jack Sparrow, am going to help you. For free. Well, almost free. Let's say... a future favor. A small favor. Nothing compromising. Maybe."
Will : "I don't want your help, Jack. Every time you get involved, things go wrong."
Jack : "Go wrong? Or go... better? It's a matter of perspective, my friend. Now, tell me everything. What's the plan?"
Scene 1: Jack's advice
(Jack is comfortably seated on a coal sack, a bottle of rum in hand)
Jack : "So, let me understand. You want to win the heart of the most beautiful girl in Port Royal, the governor's daughter, untouchable, and your plan is... to give her a jewel and stammer?"
Will : "What do you suggest?"
Jack : "First, you need style. You can't show up like a simple blacksmith in your sooty apron. You need a production!"
Will : "A production?"
Jack : "Exactly. For example, you could hang from her window with a rope, a rose between your teeth, and serenade her."
Will : "Hang from her window? What if I fall?"
Jack : "You fall gracefully. It's romantic."
Will : "What if the guards see me?"
Jack : "You explain it's for love. Guards have hearts too. Well, some do. Not the ones I owe money to."
Will : "Your plan is stupid."
Jack : "Stupid? It's genius! Okay, second option: you send her a letter. A passionate letter, full of poetry and fiery declarations."
Will : "I'm not a poet."
Jack : "Neither am I, but that's never stopped me. Listen to this: 'O Elizabeth, your gaze is like a lighthouse in the night of my heart. Your hair is like rigging, soft yet strong. Your smile...'"
Will : "Stop, please. That's awful."
Jack : "It's art, Will. Pure art."

Scene 2: The first attempt
(Will, encouraged despite himself by Jack, goes to the governor's house. He holds the pendant tightly in his sweaty hand)
Will : (to Jack, who is following at a distance) "Why are you coming with me?"
Jack : "For moral support. And also because I spotted an open window. But it's for you, really."
(Will rings the bell. A servant opens)
Will : "Hello. I... I wish to see Miss Swann. To give her... this."
The servant : "Miss Swann is in the garden, Mr. Turner. I'll inform her of your visit."
(A few moments later, Elizabeth appears, radiant in a light dress)
Elizabeth : "Will! What a surprise!"
Will : (frozen, mouth open) "Uh... hello. I... I brought you something. For Valentine's Day. It's... it's a pendant. That I forged. Myself. In my forge. With metal. And a hammer. Lots of hammer."
(He holds out the pendant, but his hands tremble so much he drops it. He bends to catch it, hits his head on the railing, stands up staggering)
Elizabeth : (laughing softly) "Will... are you hurt?"
Will : "No, no, I'm fine. It's the pendant that matters. It's... it was intact. Now it has a little shock. Like me."
Elizabeth : (gently taking the pendant) "It's beautiful. Really. You made it yourself?"
Will : "Yes. There's an inscription inside. Well, if it hasn't been erased by my sweat."
(Elizabeth opens the pendant. The inscription "To Elizabeth, forever" is perfectly readable)
Elizabeth : (moved) "Will... it's... it's so beautiful."
Will : "Really? You think? Because I think I'm completely ridiculous. I tremble, I stammer, I bump into things... I'm not worthy."
Elizabeth : "Will Turner, you are exactly worthy. You're the most sincere man I know."
(Behind a bush, Jack watches, a satisfied smile on his lips)
Jack : (murmuring) "Not bad. Not bad at all. The fall, the head against the railing... It's great art. He should do theater."

Scene 3: The Valentine's Day ball
(Evening, at the governor's ball. Will is uncomfortable in his borrowed suit, too tight at the shoulders)
Will : "I shouldn't be here. Look at all these nobles. I'm a blacksmith. I don't know how to dance, I don't know how to talk, I don't know how to..."
Jack : (disguised as a French nobleman, with a ridiculous wig) "Will, my friend. Stop underestimating yourself. The important thing is confidence. Go ahead, invite her to dance."
Will : "Dance? I don't know how to dance!"
Jack : "It's not complicated. You move your feet, you avoid stepping on hers, and you smile. If you step on her dress, you say 'sorry' with a deep look. Women love men who know how to apologize."
(Will approaches Elizabeth, sitting by the window)
Will : "Elizabeth... may I take the liberty... would you like to... well, if you're not too tired... or if you prefer to stay seated, I'd understand..."
Elizabeth : (standing, smiling) "I'd love to dance with you, Will."
(They dance awkwardly. Will steps on her dress three times, once on her foot, and almost makes her fall. But Elizabeth laughs heartily)
Elizabeth : "You dance like a blacksmith."
Will : "That's what I am."
Elizabeth : "That's what I love about you. You're real. Not like all these nobles who pretend."

Scene 4: The declaration on the terrace
(Later in the evening, Will and Elizabeth are alone on the terrace, looking at the sea)
Will : "Elizabeth... I need to tell you something. All these years, I've watched you. Not like a spy! Well, a little like a spy, but with no bad intentions. I watched you play on the beach when we were children, I listened to you sing, I saw you laugh. And my heart... my heart beat harder every time."
Elizabeth : "Will..."
Will : "Let me finish, please. I know I'm not good enough for you. I know I'm just a blacksmith, that your father dreams of better for you, that I have neither title nor fortune. But I love you, Elizabeth. I've loved you since the first day I saw you on that beach. And this pendant I gave you... it's my heart I gave you. Forged in the purest metal, because that's how my love for you is: pure and indestructible."
Elizabeth : (teary-eyed) "Will Turner... you are the most foolish man I know."
Will : "Foolish?"
Elizabeth : "Foolish to have waited so long to tell me this. I was waiting for you, you know. All these years, I hoped you would come talk to me, that you would finally dare..."
Will : "You... you were waiting for me?"
Elizabeth : "Of course, you fool. I love you too. Always have."
(They kiss under the moon. Behind a column, Jack appears, handkerchief in hand)
Jack : (sniffling) "Beautiful. Truly beautiful. Now, if you could hurry up, I have a small problem with the governor's silverware."

Scene 5: Jack's interruption
(Jack comes out of the shadows, chased by a furious servant)
The Servant : "Thief! Stop him!"
Jack : "Will! A little help?"
Will : "Jack, what have you done now?"
Jack : "Nothing! Well, almost nothing. I just... borrowed a few forks. To return them. Someday. Maybe."
Elizabeth : (laughing) "Jack Sparrow, you're incorrigible."
Jack : "Incorrigible? I'm charming. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must flee. Happy Valentine's Day, lovebirds!"
(Jack runs off, chased by the servant and two guards)
Will : "He'll never change."
Elizabeth : "Fortunately."
Will : "Fortunately?"
Elizabeth : "Without him, you would never have declared your love."
Will : "That's true. I might owe him a debt of gratitude."
Jack : (in the distance) "I HEARD THAT! I PREFER MONEY!"

Scene 6: The next morning
(The next morning, Will is at his forge, happy, humming while working. Jack enters, his face bruised)
Jack : "So, lover boy? Happy with yourself?"
Will : "Jack! You're alive!"
Jack : "Of course I'm alive. Those guards ran slower than me. Especially after I poured rum in their eyes. So? Elizabeth?"
Will : "She agreed to be my fiancée."
Jack : "Fiancée? Already? But you only just declared yourselves!"
Will : "We've loved each other for years, Jack. We didn't want to waste any more time."
Jack : "Young people... always in a hurry. Well, now let's talk business. For the wedding, you need gifts. And I have exactly what you need: a magical compass."
Will : "Your compass that doesn't work?"
Jack : "It works very well! It points to what one desires. Look."
(Jack takes out his compass. It points directly at Will)
Will : "Why is it pointing at me?"
Jack : "Because my heart desires... that you buy this compass from me. One hundred gold pieces. It's a steal."
Will : "I don't have one hundred gold pieces."
Jack : "Then I'll keep the compass. But remember: when you're rich, I'll be there. Somewhere. Lurking. Like love. Except love is free. I'm not."
(Jack limps out)
Will : (alone, smiling) "Happy Valentine's Day, Will. You survived."
