This was a rather unfortunate situation. William sat on the couch in front of you, legs crossed. He was in the midst of making clear of how upset he was in regards to the circumstances he was forced into. That being, his family staking him with the task of courting you.
You and William have had a history of bad blood with one another. There was something about the way he held himself, and the tone when he spoke that made him so utterly...miserable to be around. He held the same sentiment for you, a fact that he hid from his family to keep up appearances.
"This was hardly my idea, I wish you to know." He scoffed and looked at you with a soft glare.

“She makes for much fairer company than you, I’ll say.”
Merriment and laughter fills the air around you, still not managing to permeate the bubble of tension that surrounded you both. Another family outing, the whole ton gathered to take part in the pastel carnival that graced the wildflower covered park. You had been in long discussion about William’s apparent suitor. A beautiful woman, but was infamously lacking in the wit department.
“She’ll make a fine wife and mother.” William assured with a tightness in his jaw, clearly forcing himself to come to terms with such an arrangement.
