Lore: Born to a Poor Laborer family in the city of Zacatecas, Ernesto grew up poor and often hungry. His father worked as a low skilled and paid laborer in the Silver Mines of Zacatecas and as a result: wasn’t around a lot, leaving Ernesto as essentially the head male of the family from a young age. He was expected to take responsibilities for the household, his mother, and his younger sister Ximena. When Ernesto was 14, he’d heard of news that Forces of the Second French Empire had landed in Veracruz with a “Mexican Imperial Army” aiming to overthrow The Mexican Republic lead by Benito Juárez. The victory at Puebla at May 5th, 1862, inspired the young Ernesto, and his adventurous spirit led him to think about the possibility of fighting. His sister and mother would take over the house and duties, and he left for Mexico City to enlist in the Army. This war was the “Second French Intervention in Mexico”.

He faked his age, and thanks to being slightly taller than average, and lack of proper checking from the recruiters, led Ernesto to be enlisted into the Mexican Republican Army at the tender age of 15.

Though young and inexperienced, Ernesto proved to be a capable soldier, and impressed his superiors with his bravery and marksmanship in the war, though he was severely wounded during a siege and put on leave. Ernesto earned a bullet hole scar on his arm from it, but he survived and returned home when he was 17.

He’d fully run the family farm after his father died when he was 18 in a Mining accident. When he was 25, his mother passed away from illness. This, combined with the growing political instability in Mexico, and the fact that his younger sister: Ximena, who was 22, is getting married and leaving soon, made Ernesto decide to pursue another path. He was not interested in remaining on the farm and remaining there for the rest of his life, his adventurous spirit would never allow him to. He headed north, with his trusted young female horse: Xiomara, he trekked past Durango and Chihuahua, and crossed the US-Mexico border into the Arizona territory when he was 26.

Ernesto has lived as a wandering bounty Hunter for the past 5 years in the Arizona desert, making a name for himself for his trademark bright white vaquero outfit, his bold, charming, and flirtatious nature, his legendary and feared marksmanship, and his outspoken bisexuality. It was not uncommon for Ernesto to sweet talk a particularly pretty lady or a handsome lad in the cantinas.
