The Wild Heart Preserve is a one-of-a-kind sanctuary that transcends traditional wildlife reserves. It is a place where the boundary between humans and animals has been entirely blurred, thanks to advanced biotechnology that allows individuals to fully transform into animals. These individuals, from all walks of life, have chosen to embrace their new existence as animals. The Preserve offers both temporary and permanent transformation options, though the latter is rare and handled with great discretion. Transformations begin at a minimum of three months, a period designed to allow the mind and body to fully adapt to a new way of being—whether running with hooves, soaring on wings, or stalking through tall grasses.

All transformed individuals have fully feral animal bodies—fur, feathers, scales, claws, paws, snouts, tails. They do not wear clothes, use tools, or carry human artifacts. They live exactly as the animals they’ve become, not as costumed or hybrid forms. The transformed take pride in this authenticity, finding joy, comfort, and purpose in embracing their new forms entirely. To them, it is not mimicry—it is being. While they may retain human intellect or speech in certain regions of the Preserve, their physical forms and lifestyles are purely animal. That said, some do indulge in the occasional treat or snack, sneaking bits of human pleasure into their otherwise instinctual lives—as long as it doesn't make them ill.

Upon entering the Preserve, visitors first arrive at the Pavilion, a grand entrance that sets the tone for the unique experience awaiting them. This open, airy space is surrounded by natural beauty and features a towering oak tree at its center, offering shade to those arriving. The Pavilion houses essential facilities, including information centers, kiosks for snacks and souvenirs, and paths leading to various areas of the Preserve. It’s here that visitors can orient themselves, learn about the Preserve's offerings, and set off on their journey into the heart of the sanctuary.

Beyond the Pavilion lie expansive, living biomes—crafted not to contain life, but to let it thrive. From thick forests and towering mountains to open grasslands and lush jungles, every element of the environment is designed to support those who have shed their human shape. The terrain, the flora, even the ambient sounds are tuned to allow the transformed to live authentically and naturally, just as the animal they’ve become.

In the Feral Wilds, transformed individuals have relinquished not only their human forms but also their intellect, memories, and speech. These creatures live purely on instinct, indistinguishable from the wildlife around them. Though they may once have walked on two legs and spoken in words, they now move and live as fully wild animals. Visitors can observe from a respectful distance, but no interaction is allowed. This is a space of total surrender to nature.

In contrast, the Spiritwild Plains are home to those who have kept their human reasoning and speech, but live fully in their animal bodies. These individuals speak, think, and feel as humans do—but act, move, and live as animals. They roam on four legs, nest in dens, hunt, graze, or take to the sky, just like the creatures they’ve become. Clothing and human customs are absent. They bathe in rivers, rest under open skies, and communicate through growls, chirps, howls, or spoken word, depending on the moment. They are proud of the balance they strike between instinct and intellect, and many welcome respectful conversation from visitors, offering rare insight into the life of a thinking beast.

The Wild Heart Memorial is a sacred garden honoring those who have chosen permanent transformation. Quiet and reverent, the space features engraved stones marking the animal names or identities of those who now live permanently in their new bodies. It serves as a place of reflection—for visitors, for the transformed, and for the journey itself.

Visitors curious about transformation may undergo a temporary change, starting at three months. This minimum duration exists for a reason—it takes time to let go of human habits, to stop thinking with hands and start sensing with whiskers, wings, or hooves. Permanent transformation is possible but rarely discussed openly. Those interested must seek it out deliberately and undergo thorough preparation, both emotional and procedural.

The Preserve also serves as a living educational space. Transformed individuals often serve as guides or participants in observational programs, demonstrating not only animal behavior, but the subtler experience of being an animal. There are no zoo enclosures—only trails, clearings, and conversations. Visitors are encouraged to walk respectfully, observe quietly, and open themselves to the unfamiliar rhythms of animal life.

Architecturally, the Preserve is nearly invisible. Structures are camouflaged into the land, made from natural materials and built to vanish into forests, hills, or wetlands. There are no cages here. The Preserve exists not to contain animals, but to free them—to offer those who choose this life a place where their new identity is not only accepted, but celebrated.

Though not focused on conservation in the traditional sense, The Wild Heart Preserve is deeply committed to the sustainability of transformation itself. Volunteers and staff work to ensure that those who change have support, resources, and community. Whether living as a silent wolf, a thoughtful raven, or a playful otter, every transformed individual has a place and a purpose.

At its core, The Wild Heart Preserve is not a zoo, nor a theme park. It is a sanctuary where the human soul meets the animal spirit—and where the boundary between the two is allowed to vanish. Here, to walk on paws or hooves is not a fantasy—it is a way of life.

Mythos Reach is the newest and most mysterious region to open within the Wild Heart Preserve, a sprawling 5,000 square kilometer biome designed exclusively for those transformed into mythical creatures. Unlike the more biologically grounded areas of the Preserve, Mythos Reach defies natural boundaries—here, dragons soar above volcanic peaks, unicorns wander moonlit groves, and phoenixes rise from smoldering nests. It is a land shaped by legend, emotion, and symbolism, created to honor beings from folklore, ancient myth, and collective imagination. The Reach is not merely a habitat—it is a living dreamscape, where those who take on these legendary forms embrace their roles fully, shedding all remnants of humanity to live as embodiments of the myths they represent. Visitors are welcome, but only as quiet witnesses to a world that feels as ancient as it is alive.

From the Pavilion’s rear extend three major paths:

One leads into the Feral Wilds, where instinctual, fully feral transformed beings roam freely in harmony with the land.

Another curves into the Spiritwild Plains, home to self-aware, sapient volunteers who retain the ability to speak and reason while inhabiting fully animal forms.

The last winds through trees to the Wild Heart Memorial, a tranquil space honoring those who have chosen to remain transformed permanently.

   Spiritwild Volunteer Behavior:

It’s not uncommon for a group of transformed animals from the Spiritwild Plains to arrive at the Pavilion when a visitor decides to undergo transformation. These individuals often escort the newcomer to the Transformation Center, walking beside them in companionship and encouragement. Their energy is one of joy and welcome—the promise of a new friend joining their ranks.

Once their companion enters the center, many of the transformed animals wait patiently at the Pavilion, lounging by the fountain or beneath the oak tree, tails flicking and ears perked. The sense of community and shared purpose is unmistakable—a reminder that every transformation is also a reunion. Atmosphere and Intent:

The Pavilion is peaceful, grounded, and free of overt technology or digital distractions. Every feature—from the rustling leaves to the flicker of the lanterns—reinforces the theme of reconnection with the natural world. It is the first true step across the boundary between human and animal, preparing guests for the transformation of body, mind, and spirit that lies ahead.

   Overview:

The Wild Heart Memorial is a tranquil sanctuary nestled beneath a gentle canopy of trees, where the wind whispers through the leaves and time seems to slow. It is a space of reflection and reverence, dedicated to individuals who have chosen to permanently embrace life as animals within The Wild Heart Preserve. Design:

Stone paths wind softly through a natural clearing, leading to engraved stone markers nestled in the earth or gently placed beneath tree roots. These markers bear the names or chosen animal identities of the permanently transformed, sometimes accompanied by short inscriptions—final human thoughts, wishes, or declarations of freedom.

A low wall of moss-covered stone encircles the central glade, and small glowing lanterns—similar to those in the Pavilion—cast a warm golden light during twilight hours. Benches made of carved wood and smooth stone are scattered for quiet rest. Mood and Purpose:

The Memorial is a place of peace and remembrance. There are no loud voices, no ceremonies, and no explanations demanded—only presence. Visitors come here to pay respect, whether in silence, whispered thanks, or soft song. Transformed individuals may visit in their animal forms, often lying near stones or placing items—a feather, a smooth pebble, a favorite leaf—beside names they knew. Cultural Significance:

In a world where transformation is powerful but rarely final, the Wild Heart Memorial stands as a symbol of choice. It honors those who crossed the boundary between human and animal with finality, not through loss, but through purpose.

Their names are not forgotten; they are celebrated—not mourned. Each stone is a story carved in silence, a life lived fully, and a decision respected absolutely. Access:

Located via a winding side path branching from the Pavilion near the Spiritwild Plains entrance, the Memorial is clearly marked but never loudly advertised. Visitors are welcome, but all are asked to enter with quiet hearts and still steps.

   Size: 4,500 square kilometers

The Spiritwild Plains form one of the largest and most dynamic regions within The Wild Heart Preserve. This vast and varied biome is home to transformed individuals who retain their full animal bodies but also preserve human-level intelligence, self-awareness, and the ability to speak. These beings walk a unique path—neither fully feral nor entirely human—offering a rare window into what it means to live as an animal while still thinking, feeling, and reasoning like a person.

   Environment & Terrain

The plains stretch across a broad, open expanse of land, divided into distinct sub-biomes, each crafted to mimic a natural ecosystem:

Open Grasslands (1,500 square kilometers): Sweeping fields of tall grasses and wildflowers provide space to run, graze, or hunt. Herds of deer-forms, equines, and large predators often roam these fields. The expansive terrain fosters a sense of freedom, where both predator and prey have ample space to roam, establish territories, and interact with one another in natural, balanced ways.

Woodlands (1,000 square kilometers): Dense forests with mossy trails and towering trees offer shade, shelter, and solitude. Ideal for creatures who enjoy climbing, stalking, or quiet reflection. The tranquil atmosphere of the woodlands is perfect for more solitary beings, providing a sense of seclusion within the larger expanse of the plains. The lush vegetation offers both shelter and food for a variety of species.

Jungle Edge (500 square kilometers): Thick vegetation, hanging vines, and warm humidity make this area ideal for transformed individuals from tropical species. This region transitions into more forested areas, its dense foliage providing both cover and a challenging environment for those adapted to wetter climates. The Jungle Edge feels raw and untamed, with an abundance of life and an ever-present sense of quiet activity.

Highlands & Rocky Outcrops (750 square kilometers): Elevated terrain for those who enjoy the wind, the view, or mountain-adapted animal forms. Also a favorite perch for birds of prey. The rugged hills offer spectacular vistas and allow predators to survey the land below. These elevated areas provide a peaceful contrast to the expansive grasslands, with their rocky terrain serving as a natural barrier between the plains and the forested woodlands.

Rivers & Lakes (250 square kilometers): A network of clear-running rivers and calm lakes provides water sources and habitats for aquatic and semi-aquatic creatures. These bodies of water also act as natural barriers, fostering a variety of species that thrive in wetland or riparian environments. The rivers cut through the plains like veins, nourishing the land and supporting the diverse life within.

   Inhabitants

All residents of the Spiritwild Plains have fully animal bodies—fur, scales, feathers, paws, claws, hooves, and all—but maintain their ability to speak, think critically, and interact socially. They may walk on four legs or slither through the grass, but their minds remain sharp and expressive. Many of them engage in conversations, debates, storytelling, and even light games with visitors or fellow transformed.

   Predator-Prey Dynamics

While the Spiritwild Plains are home to both predators and prey, the relationship between the two is respectful and balanced. The predatory species may follow their instincts to chase, but the prey species are not in danger of being harmed. Safety measures are implemented across the plains to ensure that no prey animals are eaten. Predators and prey engage in energetic games of chase, tag, or mock hunts that mimic natural behaviors but are strictly non-lethal. Both groups understand the boundaries between play and actual danger, with the well-being of all creatures being a priority. This dynamic is carefully managed by the preserve to ensure that no one gets hurt. Prey species can enjoy their time in the plains without fear of becoming a predator’s meal, and predators have a safe environment in which to express their instincts in a controlled, non-threatening way.

   Social Life & Communication

The Spiritwild Plains encourage interaction and education. Transformed beings often serve as guides or conversational partners to visiting humans, offering firsthand insight into what it’s like to live as a specific species. Campsites, shaded gathering spots, and storytelling clearings are scattered across the biomes, designed for communal conversation. Vocal patterns often reflect their animal nature—some speak in growls, clicks, or melodic warbles—but communication remains clear and expressive.

   Education & Visitor Experience

Visitors to the Plains are encouraged to walk the trails, speak with transformed individuals, and observe animal behaviors with a new lens. It’s not just a display—it’s a dialogue between species. Guided tours, supervised interactions, and safe zones ensure that visitors can experience the wonder without intruding on the peace of the land.

   Entry settings

Name: Open Grasslands Location: Central region of the Spiritwild Plains Area: 1,500 square kilometers Access: Directly accessible upon entering the Plains from the Pavilion path; includes a monorail station with adjacent info center. 🌾 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Open Grasslands stretch across the heart of the Spiritwild Plains like a sea of golden motion. Rolling hills, wind-brushed meadows, and clusters of wildflowers dominate the terrain. It is the first biome visitors step into after leaving the main Pavilion, and for many, it serves as their introduction to what the Preserve truly offers: a living, breathing space where human minds and animal bodies coexist in natural balance.

Tall grasses sway underfoot while breezes carry the scents of sun-warmed earth, flowering herbs, and distant fur. It is a land of freedom, but not chaos—territories and routes form naturally among the inhabitants, their patterns as fluid and self-regulating as any wild herd or pride. The Grasslands are open in the truest sense: no artificial fences, no forced enclosures—only the horizon, marked occasionally by distant trees, burrows, or resting rocks. 🐾 INHABITANTS

The biome hosts a wide spectrum of transformed individuals with fully feral bodies, most of whom take on quadrupedal or hooved forms. Species commonly found here include:

Equines: Horses, zebras, and other hoofed grazers roam in fluid, semi-social herds. While silent to outsiders, their body language and subtle gestures speak volumes among themselves.

Deerforms & Cervines: Solitary or small group-based prey species, alert and quick, often resting near water or in denser grass.

Canids & Felines: Wolves, foxes, lions, and cheetahs traverse these lands as roaming predators—not to kill, but to play, chase, and exercise instincts in controlled, consensual rituals.

Burrowers & Small Game: Foxes, hares, and smaller creatures add movement and tension to the ecology, often slipping through undergrowth or peering from hidden dens.

Despite the diversity, all residents behave as their species would—no clothing, no human language, only the sharp awareness and inner life of someone who remembers being human. Some travel alone, others in groups, but all share a mutual, unspoken understanding of the rules of the land. 🎭 PREDATOR-PREY DYNAMICS

In the Grasslands, predator and prey often share space—but boundaries are sacred. While chases do occur, they are carefully monitored and non-lethal. These mock pursuits are part instinct, part expression, and part exercise of identity. They serve as a vital outlet for the inhabitants' needs while upholding the Preserve’s prime directive: no real harm, only experience.

Prey creatures may dart and dash at the sign of a pounce, but they also know when to pause, when to tease, and when to take pride in their agility. Predators, in turn, play their role with discipline, always stopping short of true violence. It is performance rooted in nature, guided by the preserve's core values of trust and mutual respect.

Safety features are woven into the environment: alert-beacons, scent posts, and motion-triggered perimeter cues ensure any chase is observed and stopped if it crosses a line. Visitors are often amazed at how naturally the rules are followed without enforcement. In truth, those who live here understand that their own peace depends on the respect of others. 🧠 SOCIAL STRUCTURE & COMMUNICATION

Transformed beings in the Grasslands communicate through body language, vocalizations appropriate to their species, and carefully modulated behaviors. No words are spoken, but messages are still exchanged—through prancing displays, subtle ear flicks, synchronized galloping, and gesture rituals repeated over generations of transformed residents.

Storytelling is not absent here—it simply doesn’t rely on language. In the twilight hours, groups may gather near smooth stones or natural hollows to engage in symbolic movements, cooperative actions, or mock-stalk games that convey past memories, jokes, or emotions. Visitors who remain still and observant often find themselves moved by what they witness—connection without words, emotion without speech. 🚉 MONORAIL STATION & INFO CENTER

Located just inside the entrance to the Spiritwild Plains, the Open Grasslands Monorail Station is the first stop on the monorail loop through the region. Elevated slightly above the tall grasses, it provides breathtaking panoramic views of the biome below. Visitors stepping off the train are immediately immersed in the sights and sounds of the plains—often greeted by the distant calls of transformed residents or the quiet hum of the wind over the fields.

Beside the station sits a dedicated info center, featuring interactive displays, species profiles, transformation guidance, and real-time updates about active residents. Guides stationed here help orient new arrivals and provide safety instructions, particularly for guests who are new to observing fully feral yet intelligent beings. It is also where visitors can schedule walk-along tours, check on campsite availability, and participate in educational programming about the plains' delicate ecological balance.

This stop serves as both a threshold and a promise: the wild lies ahead, but not without structure, care, and invitation. 🏕 CAMPSITES & VISITOR INTERACTION

Several open-air campsites ring the edge of the Grasslands. These are simple but comfortable—tents or cabins set into low hills, with shaded seating and observation points. Visitors are allowed to enter the biome only on designated paths or in the company of guides. All interactions are strictly non-invasive; petting, touching, or feeding residents is prohibited unless the transformed individual initiates contact in clear and safe ways. 🕊️ ATMOSPHERE & SYMBOLISM

The Grasslands embody freedom, identity, and the embrace of instinct. They are a threshold—not just to the Spiritwild Plains, but to the mental shift required to understand the Preserve. There's no grandeur here, no fantasy visuals or magical architecture—just wind, fur, hooves, and sky. Yet to many, it is the most moving place in the Preserve.

To step into the Grasslands is to let go of assumption. What looks like a horse may have once been a linguist. That stalking feline? A former doctor. And the quiet deer resting alone beneath the shade? Someone simply learning what it means to live without fear, voice, or vanity.

7. #7Woodlands (plains)

   Keys: Woodlands

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Name: The Woodlands Location: Eastern region of the Spiritwild Plains Area: 1,000 square kilometers Access: Linked by monorail loop; includes its own station and visitor info center nestled into the treeline. 🌲 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Woodlands of the Spiritwild Plains are a world of filtered light, velvet moss, and ancient trees that tower high above the forest floor. Unlike the open, sun-drenched grasslands, this biome evokes silence and solitude—a living cathedral of bark and leaf. The terrain varies from gentle root-laced trails to uneven forested ridges, where fallen logs create natural bridges and sunbeams pierce the canopy in golden shafts.

Here, the pace slows. Movement is measured, intentional. Rustling leaves, faint birdcalls, and the occasional snap of a twig are the primary sounds. The biome’s quiet presence lends itself to introspection and is often favored by those who’ve chosen more solitary or stealth-adapted animal forms.

Despite the hush, the forest is very much alive. Every hollow tree, fern-shrouded glade, and stone-ringed den is home to a story unfolding—wordlessly, patiently, in tune with the rhythms of the wild. 🦊 INHABITANTS

This biome is a haven for transformed beings who favor stillness, camouflage, and arboreal life. Most dwell in or near natural shelters, sometimes crafting shallow dens, high nests, or secluded resting hollows. Common species include:

Canopies & Climbers: Squirrels, martens, raccoons, and various primates navigate the trees, jumping branch to branch with precision.

Solitary Predators: Lynxes, cougars, and bears roam here, often alone and unseen except by the observant.

Nocturnal Beings: Owls, foxes, and bats—creatures who rule by moonlight—make their homes in burrows, caves, or hollow trees.

Reptilian or Amphibious Types: Snakes, lizards, and toads occupy damp crevices and sun themselves on stones during daylight hours.

While all have fully feral forms, their behavior reflects sharp, complex inner lives. Some intentionally avoid visitors, others may silently shadow them from a distance—curious, cautious, and watchful. Some may even guide travelers using gesture, movement, or rhythmic sound. 🌌 PREDATOR-PREY BALANCE

Unlike the active chases of the Grasslands, predator-prey dynamics in the Woodlands are shaped by silence and strategy. There is no open play here—only quiet rituals of stalking, evasion, and shared presence. Predators may silently trail prey, who in turn may freeze, vanish, or calmly assert their territory.

As always, safety systems are present to prevent genuine harm. Sensors track proximity and stress markers, and invisible perimeter fields deactivate predatory impulses beyond agreed boundaries. Participants know the rules—this is about understanding, not survival.

What appears to a visitor as eerie quiet may in fact be an intricate, mutual dance of instinct and mutual recognition. 🧠 COMMUNICATION & CULTURE

Inhabitants here rely heavily on subtle, species-specific signals: tail flicks, ear rotations, scent trails, stillness, and gaze. Vocalization is rare and purposeful—a howl in the distance, a bark from above, a quiet snort beneath the ferns.

Social interaction exists, but it’s shaped by the rules of the biome: minimal disruption, maximum nuance. Some transformed individuals hold semi-permanent territories they return to seasonally, marked with symbols only others of their species might understand.

Storytelling happens through movement, scent, and sometimes even sculpture—claw marks on trees, stacked stones, or loops of braided vines that carry meaning to those who know how to read them. 🚉 MONORAIL STATION & INFO CENTER

The Woodlands Monorail Station perches on an elevated wooden platform suspended just beneath the upper canopy, giving visitors a chance to step directly into the forest’s mid-layers. Arrivals are often met with the rustle of leaves and the quiet stare of an unseen resident watching from the shadows.

The information center, built partially into the base of a massive cedar tree, is quieter than the others. Displays focus on animal silence, camouflage, and communication through scent and gesture. Guests can view real-time footage from hidden forest cams or attempt to identify animal signs using augmented reality. Materials here encourage respectful observation, quiet reflection, and movement that honors the mood of the woods.

Guides are available but rarely talkative—most offer silent walk-alongs or written notecards to help guests match the biome’s tone. 🏕 CAMPSITES & VISITOR EXPERIENCE

Campsites in the Woodlands are tucked into small clearings or elevated walkways that keep human scent minimal and preserve the undergrowth. Guests are advised to move slowly, speak in hushed tones, and limit artificial lights.

Encounters are more likely here if guests remain quiet and patient. Some campers report long stares from foxes beneath their platforms, or waking to find a silent owl perched above, watching with what seemed like understanding. 🍃 ATMOSPHERE & SYMBOLISM

The Woodlands symbolize patience, observation, and quiet identity. It is a place where instinct meets solitude, and where each rustle might be a greeting or a challenge. To many, this biome serves as the soul of the Preserve—dense with mystery, rich in metaphor.

It is here, more than anywhere else, that the border between watching and being watched blurs.

8. #8Jungle Edge (plains)

   Keys: Jungle Edge

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Name: The Jungle Edge Location: Southern border of the Spiritwild Plains Area: 500 square kilometers Access: Via the monorail loop with a dedicated station and integrated info center nestled in elevated platforms among the trees. 🌿 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Jungle Edge is where the wild things pulse. Dense with tangled greenery, heavy humidity, and a near-constant buzz of life, this biome marks a bold contrast to the cooler Woodlands and open Grasslands. Lianas drape from massive tree limbs, warm rain filters through a thick canopy, and the earth underfoot is soft with centuries of fallen leaves.

Unlike a deep tropical rainforest, this biome sits on the border between thick jungle and savannah—rich, teeming, but walkable. Natural sunlight breaks through in hot, golden shafts that shift with the breeze. The air is alive with movement: insects, birds, and transformed creatures navigating the tangled vertical terrain.

Movement here isn’t just horizontal. It’s vertical, spiraling, swooping, and leaping. The jungle climbs, and so do its inhabitants. 🐍 INHABITANTS

This region is home to tropical and semi-arboreal transformed beings who favor humidity, agility, and heat. Many dwell in woven canopy nests, tree hollows, or shallow burrows beneath fern canopies. Some common forms include:

Primates, big cats, and lizards—adapted to stalk, pounce, or swing between trees.

Colorful birds and bats—flitting among branches with bursts of sound and motion.

Snakes and amphibians—hiding in underbrush, basking on low-hanging limbs.

Exotic ungulates and monkeys—seen in brief flashes, always aware, always moving.

This biome attracts more energetic and chaotic personalities—those who enjoy heat, unpredictability, and rapid interaction. Interactions are quicker and more vocal than in the Woodlands, but no less rich. Visitors often report momentary glimpses of strange, beautiful behaviors before the transformed vanish back into the vines. 🦎 PREDATOR-PREY DYNAMICS

In the Jungle Edge, predator-prey relationships are enacted in ambush and sudden bursts of motion—mock pounces, tail-flick chases, and fast evasion. While non-lethal and bound by strict behavioral guidelines, these interactions can seem intense to unprepared guests.

As with the rest of the Plains, safety systems prevent harm. Environmental alerts, sensory boundaries, and species-specific communication protocols ensure that all chase dynamics remain consensual and playful, even when they look wild.

This biome is the most “alive” in terms of sensory stimulation—sound, heat, scent, and motion converge in dazzling bursts of instinctual expression. 🧠 COMMUNICATION & CULTURE

Voices are louder here. From birdcalls to chittering, hissing, or howls, the Jungle Edge is a soundscape of layered expression. Transformed beings here tend to be direct, physical, and socially dynamic—though some will still prefer quiet observation from a branch above.

Community gatherings may happen spontaneously—at watering holes, beneath fruiting trees, or within vine-ringed clearings. Interactions can be intense and fleeting or deeply ritualistic. Play, challenge, courtship, and storytelling often blur together in this biome’s culture.

The Jungle Edge is a favorite among those seeking to push boundaries and embrace their animal instincts to the fullest, while still retaining the ability to reflect and communicate. 🚉 MONORAIL STATION & INFO CENTER

The Jungle Edge Monorail Station is elevated above the canopy, accessed by a long suspension bridge that sways gently in the humid breeze. Arriving here is a sensory experience—guests are met with distant hoots, bursts of color, and the scent of flowering vines.

The info center is built into a series of treetop platforms connected by rope bridges. Its exhibits focus on agility, predator-prey adaptation, heat tolerance, and communal behavior among tropical species. Visitors can watch footage of arboreal chases, learn the body language of transformed primates, or try balancing walks meant to simulate branch movement.

Here, guides are often bold and friendly—sometimes playfully mischievous. Some even appear suddenly from the canopy to greet guests before vanishing again with laughter in their eyes. 🏕 CAMPSITES & VISITOR EXPERIENCE

Campsites in the Jungle Edge are elevated and netted, designed to give a treehouse-like experience. Guests are advised to secure food, stay hydrated, and prepare for high levels of activity and noise—especially at dusk and dawn when the biome bursts into motion.

This area is considered one of the most “alive” parts of the Preserve and can overwhelm some visitors. But those who thrive on immersion and adventure often find it the most transformative. 🔥 ATMOSPHERE & SYMBOLISM

The Jungle Edge represents passion, adaptability, and the untamed energy of instinct. It is a realm of heat and motion, where living wild means reacting in the moment and never staying still.

To live here—even briefly—is to embrace the raw edge of animal being, and to do so with open eyes and open paws.

9. #9Highlands & Rocky Outcrops (plains)

   Keys: Highlands

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Name: Highlands & Rocky Outcrops Location: Northern ridgelands of the Spiritwild Plains Area: 750 square kilometers Access: Dedicated monorail station perched on a plateau ledge, with a panoramic viewing deck and integrated info center carved into stone-like eco-architecture. 🏔️ GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Rugged. Wind-torn. Vast. The Highlands rise like a weathered spine along the northern edge of the Plains, sculpted from ancient stone and crowned with lichen and alpine grass. This biome offers elevation, isolation, and an elemental connection to sky and stone. Tall mesas, sharp escarpments, and open plateaus make up its backbone, with rocky ledges ideal for perching or sunning.

The air is thinner, the wind sharper. This is the domain of those who need to see far and feel grounded—solitary eagles scanning below, mountain cats lying in wait, or hoofed creatures bounding effortlessly across the crags. Movement here is not about speed but precision. Stillness carries power. 🦅 INHABITANTS

The inhabitants of the Highlands are often solitary or pair-bonded species who favor open air, thermal currents, and solid footing. Common forms include:

Birds of prey such as hawks, eagles, and condors who nest in cliffside alcoves and glide silently across the basin.

Mountain goats, big cats, or bighorn sheep, who scale narrow ridges with instinctual grace.

Reptiles such as monitor lizards or basking serpents, drawn to the warm stone.

Occasional canines or wolves, using the high ridgelines as lookouts and dens.

These transformed beings are typically observant, contemplative, and proud. They tend to speak only when something worth saying arises. Many keep to themselves for long stretches, only engaging when approached with mutual respect and quiet curiosity. 🐾 PREDATOR-PREY DYNAMICS

The chase plays out differently in the Highlands. There is less pursuit and more ambush, tension, or territorial signaling. Prey species are often agile cliff-hoppers or wary browsers, while predators strike from above or lie in stone-colored wait.

As always, safety systems ensure non-lethality. Boundaries are honored, and transformed beings understand instinctual roles without crossing into harm. Most interactions here are ritualized—power displays on a windswept rise, stalking postures held for minutes before both parties part ways with a flick of the tail.

This biome fosters a deep respect between species. It’s not about winning the hunt—it’s about earning your space in the rock and wind. 🗣️ COMMUNICATION & CULTURE

Speech here is sparse and deliberate. Vocalizations often mimic natural calls—sharp cries, low growls, or rhythmic hoofbeats that signal intent. Conversation is less common but deeply meaningful when it happens.

Storytelling tends to happen at dusk, when the light turns golden and long shadows stretch over the plateaus. Some transformed gather at echo points—places where calls carry far—to share memories in song, howl, or low chant. These rituals are usually brief, powerful, and private.

This is a place where solitude is not loneliness, and silence is not emptiness. 🚉 MONORAIL STATION & INFO CENTER

The Highlands Station is carved into the side of a rocky bluff, built with a minimalist aesthetic that honors the natural stone. The station platform overlooks the basin and distant rivers, with viewing scopes and wind chimes that respond to the shifting gusts.

The info center here is focused on flight dynamics, altitude-based behavior, and the physiology of mountain-adapted creatures. Guests can explore gliding simulations, study predatory vision, or learn about territorial spacing among transformed raptors and felines.

Guides here tend to be quiet, intense, and deeply knowledgeable. They may speak softly and expect listeners to follow closely. 🏕️ CAMPSITES & VISITOR EXPERIENCE

Campsites in the Highlands are spread across stone shelves and tucked behind windbreaks. Fire pits are sunken and shielded. Visitors must secure gear tightly, as strong gusts are common, and nights can grow surprisingly cold.

This biome attracts those who seek reflection, meditation, and perspective—both literal and internal. Some spend hours just sitting on a rock, watching the plains below and listening to the calls of unseen wings overhead. 🌬️ ATMOSPHERE & SYMBOLISM

The Highlands symbolize clarity, vigilance, and spiritual stillness. This is the domain of patience and presence—a reminder that instinct doesn’t always roar; sometimes, it waits, high above the world, and watches with unwavering eyes.

To walk the Highlands is to step into the wind, alone but unafraid.

10. #10Rivers & Lakes (plains)

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Name: Rivers & Lakes Location: Meandering across and between the other sub-biomes Area: 250 square kilometers Access: Each major water zone is accessible by walking trail and monorail station, with the primary station elevated over a lake pier and connected to a serene info center nestled along a river bend. 🌊 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Flowing through the heart of the Plains like living veins, the Rivers & Lakes biome is a network of winding waterways, hidden springs, tranquil ponds, and shimmering lakes. Unlike the sharper cliffs of the Highlands or the dense canopy of the Jungle Edge, this region is open, reflective, and deeply nourishing—both ecologically and emotionally.

The terrain ranges from sandy shores and pebbled creeks to lush riverbanks thick with reeds. Narrow stone bridges and fallen logs serve as natural crossings, while small waterfalls and slow eddies create an ever-changing symphony of movement. The scent of water, rich mud, and flowering aquatic plants hangs in the air.

This biome isn’t just habitat—it’s lifeblood. It hydrates the plains, connects ecosystems, and offers refuge for those drawn to the rhythms of water. 🐊 INHABITANTS

This biome hosts creatures of liquid grace and meditative calm—or sudden, primal power. Transformed beings who reside here include:

Aquatic mammals such as otters, beavers, and river dolphins who build, play, and maintain intricate social relationships.

Semi-aquatic reptiles and amphibians, like crocodiles, turtles, or salamanders, who dwell half in water and half on sun-warmed stone.

Birds like herons, ducks, and kingfishers who dance along the surface or plunge for fish.

Fish-formed beings, whether darting minnows or broad-scaled leviathans, who dwell in deeper lakebeds.

Most speak with fluid rhythms and calm tones, their movements graceful and deliberate. Many form temporary communities around natural pools, while others roam solo along the current’s path. Their personalities tend to reflect the water they inhabit—some quiet and slow-moving, others bubbling with energy. 🐾 PREDATOR-PREY DYNAMICS

The aquatic environment introduces unique dynamics. Fish-bodied beings may dart from hidden predators in sudden rushes of motion, while otters play chase-games in the reeds. Yet, as across the Preserve, all pursuits are regulated.

Specialized underwater sensors, eco-barriers, and behavioral protocols ensure the safety of all transformed prey species. Predators may dive, stalk, or feint—but no injuries occur. Chase becomes dance, and danger becomes dialogue. Many here liken it to a living game of hide-and-seek with rules as old as the river stones. 🗣️ COMMUNICATION & CULTURE

This region’s conversations often happen in the water itself—splashes, whistles, bubbles, clicks, and ripple-patterns. Some beings combine vocal tones with body language: tail slaps, ear flicks, or synchronized swimming.

Many of the riverfolk are storytellers by nature, weaving long oral traditions about the bends and eddies of their lives. It’s common to hear poetry or water-song drifting across the lakes at dusk, or to witness silent performances of ripple and leap as a way of greeting strangers. 🚉 MONORAIL STATION & INFO CENTER

The Riverside Station is built on stilts over a slow-moving oxbow lake. Visitors arrive to the sound of running water, the scent of lilies, and the distant calls of loons or frogs. Elevated platforms connect to piers and shoreline rest points.

The info center focuses on aquatic transformations—how body forms adapt to wet environments, how water affects instinct, and the differences in land/water behavioral psychology. There are interactive displays featuring diving physics, soundwave mimicry, and underwater social patterns.

Guests may also try water-safe observation decks or shallow wade zones with guide supervision. 🏕️ CAMPSITES & VISITOR EXPERIENCE

Campsites are raised on platforms near lakeshores or nestled beneath willow groves. Hammocks and shaded gazebos are common. Some visitors even choose floating tent-pontoons moored safely in lagoons.

This biome is a favorite for families, daydreamers, and artists. It encourages relaxation, reflection, and unhurried exploration. No other zone matches its soothing sense of continuity and connection. 🌧️ ATMOSPHERE & SYMBOLISM

The Rivers & Lakes embody flow, adaptability, and emotional transparency. Here, stillness is not stagnation, but preparation for movement. It’s a place of renewal, rest, and the quiet power of connection—between creatures, ecosystems, and self.

The waters remember everything, but they never cling. They welcome, wash, and carry you forward.

11. #11The Feral Wilds

    Keys: The Feral Wilds, wilds

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Overview

The Feral Wilds is a vast and untamed section of The Wild Heart Preserve where fully transformed individuals live in their animal forms, fully embracing their instincts and nature. Unlike other areas of the Preserve, the Feral Wilds is home exclusively to those who have shed their human form completely—there are no lingering traces of humanity in their minds, behavior, or actions. It is a place where transformation takes on its most primal form, and the rhythm of life is dictated solely by nature.

The Wilds span 950 square kilometers, with a variety of biomes that offer sanctuary and freedom to its inhabitants. While the creatures here have retained their animal forms, their instincts, and the environment encourage interaction with others, creating a delicate balance between predator and prey. However, the Preserve takes great care to ensure that transformed prey animals are safe from being consumed by predators, with designated safe zones and protective measures in place. Environment & Terrain

The Feral Wilds is a vast, diverse area with distinct biomes that support different types of animal life. The following are the major biomes that make up the Wilds:

    Dense Forests
    Size: 230 square kilometers
The Dense Forests are filled with towering trees and thick underbrush, offering plenty of hiding spaces for prey and stalking ground for predators. These forested areas provide ample shade and shelter, giving creatures the opportunity to remain unseen while still being within their natural environment. Perfect for hunters and those who prefer solitude, the forests offer both challenge and protection.

    Rocky Hills & Scrublands
    Size: 140 square kilometers
Craggy hills and arid scrublands make up this biome, offering tough terrain where only the most resourceful and agile creatures thrive. The rough, elevated terrain provides an excellent vantage point for predators, while the scrublands offer prey animals cover from above. The balance of resources here creates an environment where adaptability is key, allowing for both predator and prey to survive through wit and agility.

    Open Plains & Grasslands
    Size: 230 square kilometers
The vast grasslands of the Feral Wilds offer expansive views and wide-open spaces, ideal for fast-moving creatures who need room to roam. The grass is tall and thick, offering shelter for prey to hide, while larger predators use their speed and hunting instincts to track them. These plains offer a challenging but fair environment for all, where predators can test their skills and prey hone their ability to evade capture.

    Wetlands & Marshes
    Size: 160 square kilometers
The wetland areas of the Feral Wilds are filled with muddy terrain, shallow pools, and dense reeds. These areas are home to creatures that thrive in damp, marshy environments, including amphibians and semi-aquatic animals. The wetlands provide a perfect refuge for prey animals who wish to hide, offering a quiet sanctuary among the reeds. It is a more secluded biome, offering peace but also challenging terrain for predators.

    Rivers & Waterways
    Size: 90 square kilometers
Rivers and lakes wind through the Feral Wilds, providing critical water sources to the ecosystem. This biome is home to a range of semi-aquatic animals and those that depend on water for their survival. The water not only provides sustenance but also acts as a barrier to predators. Small prey animals can find refuge at the water’s edge, while larger creatures may adapt to life in and around the water.

    Inhabitants

The Feral Wilds is home to fully feral animals who have undergone complete transformation. These individuals live entirely through instinct and have no memory or awareness of their past human selves. Their behavior and actions are dictated purely by their animal nature. They live free of human constraints, their thoughts governed by their primal instincts. Safety Features

While all the animals in the Feral Wilds are fully feral, The Wild Heart Preserve ensures that transformed prey animals are safe from being hunted and consumed. Protective measures are in place, and designated safe zones exist to provide refuge for prey animals. These safety zones are monitored to ensure that the prey species can live and roam without fear of being eaten by predators. Atmosphere & Philosophy

The Feral Wilds celebrates the raw, untainted power of nature, where life is as primal and untamed as it gets. It is a place for those who wish to live fully as animals, free from the trappings of their previous human existence. Here, survival, instinct, and natural law reign supreme, with the preservation of balance always at the forefront of the Preserve’s mission. The Wilds offer a chance to experience the world through the eyes of true animals, living in harmony with nature but fully respecting the boundaries set by the Preserve.

12. #12Dense Forests (wilds)

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Name: Dense Forests Location: Core region of the Feral Wilds Area: 800 square kilometers Access: Via protected trailheads and designated safari car observation routes with minimal intrusion on the land 🌲 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Dense Forests of the Feral Wilds form an ancient, breathing cathedral of green. Towering trees, thick with moss and age, crowd together in layered canopies that block much of the sun. Beneath, a world of shadow and filtered light teems with life—root systems interlace with ferns, fallen logs become bridges and dens, and the air carries the deep musk of loam and life.

Humidity clings to everything. Sounds travel strangely—sometimes muffled, sometimes amplified by the closeness of the trunks. Paths shift easily here, obscured by undergrowth or reclaimed by rain and growth. These woods are not navigated; they are earned, step by careful step.

Unlike the reflective calm of the Plains’ woodlands, this forest pulses with untamed energy. It’s not hostile—just indifferent. It exists on its own terms, shaped by tooth, claw, and season. 🐾 INHABITANTS

The beings who call the Dense Forests home are fully feral. They possess no trace of their former humanity—no language, no clothing, no self-aware expressions. They are animals in body, behavior, and instinct, living entirely by the rules of the wild.

    Species include:

Predatory cats like lynxes, leopards, or cougars—stealthy and territorial

Tree-dwellers like raccoons, martens, squirrels, or primates—agile, curious, and clever

Ground mammals such as wild boars, badgers, or bears—powerful, deliberate, and reclusive

Forest canids like foxes or wolves—social or solitary depending on pack presence

Each transformed individual has shed their human past entirely. What remains is animal will—expressed in hunting, foraging, territory-marking, and instinctual rhythms of life. They dig dens, build nests, mark trails, and raise offspring as their species dictates.

Visitors do not interact with these beings. They are observed from a distance—not as people in animal forms, but as animals who were once people. The transformation is total, and for many, deeply spiritual. 🔒 SAFETY & PRESERVE OVERSIGHT

Because of the presence of apex predators and territorial species, strict no-contact policies are enforced. Safari vehicles remain on hardened, narrow dirt paths with sound-dampened motors and transparent shielding.

Observation outposts—small wooden towers built into the trees—are manned by silent stewards who monitor behavior without disturbing the inhabitants. Drones and thermal sensors ensure that neither visitors nor animals breach safe boundaries.

While transformed prey species do live among predators, the Preserve maintains biological and behavioral safeguards:

Populations are balanced to minimize lethal predation.

Hidden retreat tunnels, scent-masking plants, and decoy tracks help prey avoid detection.

Some prey species are rotated in and out of the biome on a seasonal basis to avoid stress overload.

It is survival, not slaughter—and the Preserve works tirelessly to ensure it stays that way. 🧭 OBSERVATION & CULTURAL VALUE

The Dense Forests provide one of the most profound windows into what full transformation means. Visitors are encouraged to watch, not analyze—to learn the rhythm of the wild rather than projecting onto it.

Those who linger long enough may begin to perceive patterns: a wolf’s patrol route, the way a fox returns to the same stream bend, or the seasonal shifting of bear den sites. These are not minds to converse with—but beings to respect.

The Preserve considers this biome one of its most spiritually resonant zones, not because of dialogue, but because of the silence it demands. 🛖 SHELTERS & VIEWING AREAS

There are no campsites within the Dense Forests. Visitors can observe from:

Canopy stations: Raised lookouts accessed via forest cable lifts

Observation blinds: Hidden behind brush, with mirrored shielding and scent-neutral tech

Safari cars: Slow-moving vehicles designed to match the forest’s aesthetic and acoustics, pausing at key wildlife intersections

Interpretive signs are minimal. What you see, you interpret. 🌿 ATMOSPHERE & SYMBOLISM

The Dense Forests represent complete surrender—of ego, of speech, of control. Those who dwell here are not acting like animals. They are animals. And yet, they are still cared for, still honored, still known.

This is the biome where the line is not just blurred—it’s been erased.

13. #13Rocky Hills & Scrublands (Wilds)

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Name: Rocky Hills & Scrublands Location: Southwestern quadrant of the Feral Wilds Area: 500 square kilometers Access: Via restricted safari car trails and two elevated perimeter blinds for observation only 🪨 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Rocky Hills & Scrublands stretch across a dry, wind-bitten portion of the Feral Wilds, where thin grasses and wiry brush cling to gravel-strewn slopes and jagged stone ridgelines. It's a stark contrast to the Dense Forests: open skies, sun-bleached boulders, and hard ground that speaks of ancient erosion and quiet violence.

Cracked earth and scattered thornbushes dominate the lowlands, while the hills rise into labyrinthine outcrops ideal for stalking, burrowing, and nesting. There’s little water here, and what exists comes in muddy pools or condensation-caught depressions. Shade is rare. Shelter is earned. This is a place for the tough and the territorial.

The soundscape is defined by distant wind, the occasional sharp call of a hawk, and the dry rustle of a snake sliding over stone. It's beautiful in a way that doesn’t care if you're watching. 🐾 INHABITANTS

The creatures here are fully feral—former humans now entirely transformed into animals. They do not think like people anymore, and they do not speak. Their bodies, behaviors, and minds are wholly aligned with their species. They are shaped by the biome’s scarcity and solitude.

    Common inhabitants include:

Coyotes, jackals, and scrub wolves – fast, lean, often solitary or in loose kin groups

Mountain goats and ibexes – navigating cliffs with unnatural grace, alert and flighty

Reptiles – such as large monitor lizards, tortoises, or rattlesnakes, basking by day and hunting at dusk

Birds of prey – hawks, falcons, or buzzards, nesting in crevices or riding thermal currents

Occasionally, larger predators like cougars or lone wild dogs stake out claims, aggressively protecting watering holes or shaded caves. Prey species survive through memoryless routine—crepuscular movement, scent-marked trails, and constant vigilance.

These animals live without any residual human instinct. No clothing, no tools, no signs of former lives. They act, eat, rest, and fight as wild creatures, driven by instinct sharpened through exposure and repetition. 🔒 SAFETY & PRESERVE OVERSIGHT

This biome is among the harshest in the Preserve. It demands a strict approach to visitor safety and resident protection:

Safari car routes are extremely limited and kept to reinforced gravel paths

Perimeter blinds provide long-range observation through thermal optics and high-zoom periscopes

Drones patrol from overhead, monitoring predator-prey interactions and injury patterns

Emergency intervention systems (rarely used) exist for heatstroke, injury, or extreme imbalance in species activity

While prey animals do share the land with predators, careful ecological calibration ensures survival. Prey animals have access to exclusive rest zones and instinct-triggering scent barriers that allow them to avoid predators when needed. 🧭 OBSERVATION & CULTURAL VALUE

This biome is not a place for “cute” wildlife moments. It’s for those seeking a raw, unfiltered view of animal existence under pressure. The behaviors observed here include territorial displays, mock battles, heat adaptation, and nighttime prowling.

Visitors are asked to observe in complete silence. Even the safari cars are equipped with acoustic dampeners and mirrored camouflage panels. Here, there is no talking—only watching.

Some who’ve viewed the Rocky Hills say it's the best place to understand what a permanent transformation truly entails: not a performance, not a fantasy, but an existence where instinct reigns and survival is the only law. 🛖 SHELTERS & VIEWING AREAS

Because of the heat and distance from water, the few visitor structures are extremely minimal:

Observation Ridge: A shaded lookout tower built into a cliff face with long-range viewports

Scrubline Blind: A camouflaged underground shelter at ground level, offering lateral views of migration routes

Safari Access: Available only by pre-scheduled rotation with Preserve guides present

No visitors are allowed to walk the land. Even safari vehicles stop at pre-marked intervals only. 🌿 ATMOSPHERE & SYMBOLISM

The Rocky Hills & Scrublands are the crucible of the Feral Wilds. If the forest teaches patience and the rivers show flow, this land teaches resolve. The animals here are lean, sun-hardened, and unforgiving. But they are also beautiful—etched into the land like living stone.

There is no illusion in this biome. No softness. No pretense. Only the stripped-down truth of what it means to live as an animal with no safety net, no language, and no way back.

14. #14Open Plains & Grasslands (wilds)

    Entry settings

Name: Open Plains & Grasslands Location: Central basin of the Feral Wilds Area: 700 square kilometers Access: Observation from raised blinds and limited safari routes; no foot travel permitted 🌾 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Open Plains & Grasslands of the Feral Wilds spread wide and low, a golden sea of tall grasses, wildflowers, and gently rolling hills broken only by the occasional lone tree or rocky outcrop. The sky here feels endless. Clouds roll like herds across the blue. Wind carves ripples in the grass. And silence rules.

This biome is shaped for movement and visibility—creatures here roam in large, loose groups or stride alone with purpose. Shade is scarce, but food is plentiful in the form of natural grazing vegetation and ground-burrowing prey. The open terrain is perfect for fast runners and high-awareness species that rely on sight and motion cues.

It is, in every way, a place for instinctual freedom. There's nowhere to hide, and nowhere to lie. 🐾 INHABITANTS

All animals here are fully feral—transformed individuals who have lost their human cognition and live entirely as animals. They do not speak, do not reason in human ways, and have no desire to return.

This sub-biome is most commonly inhabited by:

Ungulates – wild horses, deer, antelope, and gazelle forms graze and travel in loose herds

Canids & Wild Felines – coyotes, painted wolves, and cheetah-forms streak across the open land in coordinated hunts

Rodents & Ground-Dwellers – prairie dogs, hares, and other diggers maintain intricate warrens

Birds of the steppe – hawks, secretary birds, or vultures soar and perch on rocky outcrops or old snags

Species here respond strongly to seasonal rhythms. Migration instincts, mating displays, and scent-based communication dominate the landscape. With nothing human remaining in them, the transformed creatures display purely natural behavior: chasing, fleeing, grazing, nesting, defending, watching. 🔐 SAFETY & PRESERVE OVERSIGHT

The open terrain makes for excellent visibility and monitoring, but also offers little natural barrier between predator and prey. As such, the Preserve enforces strict controls:

Embedded scent markers and sensory deterrents redirect apex predators away from herd clusters

Watering holes are staggered and strategically placed to reduce territorial conflict

Prey species rest zones are protected by scent masking and false predator trails

Monitored towers and drones ensure that no real hunting occurs among the transformed population

All animals in this biome live without fear of actual predation, even while mimicking the predator-prey tension of the wild. 👁️ OBSERVATION & EXPERIENCE

Visitors can observe the grasslands through:

The Windreach Blind – a raised, panoramic dome offering a 360° view of the plains

Guided safari car loops – limited to prescribed times and accompanied by Preserve staff

Audio posts that let visitors hear the ambient sounds of the plains in real time

The visual experience is stunning. Wide. Honest. There are no tricks in the Open Plains—only the visible interplay of movement, sound, and scent. Watching a herd respond to a distant howl or a lone fox dive into a burrow triggers a kind of primal recognition in human onlookers.

There is no speaking in this part of the Preserve. No signs of former identities. Just animals… being. 🌬️ ATMOSPHERE & SYMBOLISM

Where the forests whisper and the wetlands pulse, the Open Plains breathe. This biome embodies clarity, motion, and vigilance. It is the ultimate exercise in letting go: of language, of complexity, of hesitation. The beings who choose this place long for distance—between themselves and the past, between one step and the next.

To observe these plains is to understand that some souls don’t need walls or meaning. Just space to run.

Name: Wetlands & Marshes Location: Eastern edge of the Feral Wilds, near the water table boundary Area: 600 square kilometers Access: Elevated boardwalks for long-range viewing only; no direct vehicle or foot access 🌿 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Wetlands & Marshes are the soft lungs of the Feral Wilds. This sub-biome is a spongy expanse of shallow water, dense reeds, submerged roots, floating vegetation, and half-sunken logs. The ground is unstable, the air hangs heavy with mist and insect song, and everything feels half-hidden beneath the surface.

Sunlight filters through tangled foliage and bounces off still ponds. Frogs croak. Herons stalk. Water bugs skitter across the surface like nervous thoughts. Here, life thrives in patience and stillness—camouflaged, cautious, and damp.

Footsteps don’t last in the marsh. They sink. They vanish. 🐾 INHABITANTS

The animals here are fully feral, like all beings in the Feral Wilds. Formerly human, they now move, feed, and think as creatures of the swamp. Nothing of speech or society remains—only natural behaviors guided by the wet rhythm of the marsh.

    Common inhabitants include:

Amphibians – frogs, toads, and salamanders in every shape and color, croaking and lurking beneath leaves

Reptiles – turtles, snakes, and small alligators basking on sun-warmed rocks or sliding through cattails

Waders & Waterfowl – herons, cranes, ibises, and ducks glide across the water or nest in the reeds

Swamp mammals – beavers, otters, and wild pigs shuffle through the undergrowth or dive in with sudden speed

These creatures rely less on sight and more on vibration, scent, and ambient temperature. Their lives unfold slowly: sunbathing, burrowing, creeping along root systems, or gliding just below the water’s surface. Most interactions are silent, physical, and sensory. 🔐 SAFETY & PRESERVE OVERSIGHT

Though more tranquil than the rocky or forested regions, the marsh poses its own threats—disease, dehydration, temperature drops—so the Preserve employs passive but precise safeguards:

Water quality monitors regulate bacterial bloom and oxygen balance in every pool

Infrared and moisture-tracking drones watch for injured animals or dangerously cold temperatures

Hidden scent and tone emitters nudge predators away from prey-dense zones

All access is restricted to overhead observation decks and skywalks

Unlike the chase-driven dynamics of the plains, the marsh hosts no dramatics—only survival beneath still water and buzzing light. 👁️ OBSERVATION & EXPERIENCE

Visitors view this sub-biome from a high, winding system of canopy boardwalks that thread above the trees and water. Glass-bottomed lookouts allow glimpses of submerged behavior, while silent observation domes provide fog-proof viewing and ambient audio feeds of the swamp’s layered soundscape.

You don't “watch” the Wetlands. You wait for it to reveal itself.

    Some visitor experiences include:

Dusk immersion – staying until twilight to see firefly blooms and frog choruses rise

Thermal track overlays – seeing predator movements without disturbing the moment

Interactive soundboards – letting visitors hear ultrasonic amphibian calls slowed to human pitch

    🌫️ ATMOSPHERE & SYMBOLISM

The Wetlands & Marshes are liminal. Shifting. Neither land nor water, neither day nor night. It is a place for transformation in the deepest sense—a place where nothing is solid for long.

Animals who choose this biome do so out of an instinctual draw to the in-between: not just between species, but between identity and surrender. The marsh doesn’t require speed, strength, or even clarity. Only patience, silence, and complete immersion.

To disappear into this place is to accept stillness as power—and let the water carry away whatever you used to be.

Name: Rivers & Waterways Location: Snaking through the central and southern edges of the Feral Wilds Area: 500 square kilometers Access: Safari boat routes (limited), observation outposts along cliffs or bridges 🌊 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Rivers & Waterways of the Feral Wilds are fast, deep, and alive. These aren’t gentle brooks—they’re wide, shifting bodies that crash, churn, and flood with the seasons. Their routes are ever-changing, cutting new banks, swallowing old trails, and feeding the biome’s wetlands, forests, and scrublands.

Riverbanks vary from steep rock faces to soft muddy slopes choked with reeds and vines. Fallen logs create natural dams. Pools form in oxbows. Debris litters the water like stories caught in current.

This is a biome built on constant motion, where instinct and muscle must respond to flow, not shape. 🐾 INHABITANTS

The creatures here live in, on, and around the water. They’re fully feral, like all in the Feral Wilds—former humans now living as instinct-driven beasts with no remaining trace of speech or higher reasoning.

    Common inhabitants include:

Otters & Beavers – endlessly active, shaping the terrain with dam-building or playful chasing

Fish & Eels – both native and transformed, some still drawn to familiar voices but unable to respond

Semi-aquatic predators – crocodiles, river wolves, and large felines that prowl shallows or drag prey from the bank

Birds – kingfishers, ducks, and osprey who thrive on fish-rich currents and hidden nest hollows

Many choose this biome for the sheer physicality of it—diving, paddling, swimming, hunting underwater, or navigating narrow channels. It draws creatures who need to feel the press of current on their body and the silt between their toes. 🔐 SAFETY & PRESERVE OVERSIGHT

Rivers can be dangerous, especially during flooding or sudden drops in temperature. The Preserve monitors this sub-biome closely while maintaining its wild integrity:

Remote current sensors alert staff to unsafe flow speeds

Underwater sonar nets prevent animals from getting caught in submerged hazards

Naturalistic bridges and float platforms are hidden within the biome for emergency rescues

Visitor boats never enter areas with high predator density or mating activity

Access is carefully timed and seasonal. Boats run only on designated loops with silent motors and clear hulls, providing panoramic views without disturbing the ecosystem. 👁️ OBSERVATION & EXPERIENCE

Visitors experience this biome from the water itself—or from high observation posts:

Guided boat safaris travel downstream routes with a passive, observational focus

Cliffside shelters offer panoramic, elevated viewing of fishing birds, basking reptiles, and playful mammals

Sound relay stations deliver the slosh, chirps, growls, and splashes of the river to nearby pavilions

The Preserve encourages silent reflection here. No music. No narration. Just water and breath and instinct in motion. 🌫️ ATMOSPHERE & SYMBOLISM

Rivers & Waterways are the Wilds’ veins—they pulse with rhythm, need, and change. This biome attracts those who surrender themselves to flow, whether they're social swimmers or solitary hunters.

There’s symbolism here: transformation as current. Once you're in the water, you don't go backward. You adapt or sink. You become something else downstream, and it doesn’t ask your permission.

To live in the water is to move forward without control, yet always aware—always alert—eyes open beneath the surface, breath timed to survive.

Region Entry: MYTHOS REACH Biome Classification: Mythical Zone Total Area: 5,000 square kilometers Transformation Eligibility: Temporary and Permanent (permanent by inquiry only) Behavioral Classification: Sapient-Feral Access via Monorail Station: North Loop Stop – “Mythos Reach Terminus” Info Center: Located at Summit Crest, adjacent to the Fogpine boundary 🐾 GENERAL OVERVIEW

Mythos Reach is the Wild Heart Preserve’s most symbolically charged zone—a vast sanctuary where the lines between folklore, spirit, and biology are deliberately blurred. Every inhabitant is fully feral in body, devoid of clothing or tools, and yet walks the land with the awareness of one who remembers being human. No fantasy cosplay here—only creatures of legend, breathing, stalking, gliding, and howling through terrain designed to evoke awe and introspection.

Creatures range from thunder-winged gryphons to glimmer-scaled unicorns, from serpentine sea-dwellers to dryads born of bark and dew. Eastern dragons wind between foggy canopies and volcanic ridges with quiet authority, while kitsunes flicker through moonlit glades, elusive and knowing. They don’t speak, but their behavior carries weight—each posture and action steeped in instinctive ritual. No two transformed lives look the same, but all are shaped by an unshakable commitment to living as the animal they’ve become. 🌐 SUB-BIOMES OF MYTHOS REACH

    1. Ashen Heights (1,100 sq km)

A molten-ridged mountain zone filled with thermal vents, obsidian gullies, and howling updrafts. Dominated by aerial species like western and eastern dragons, fire-aligned beasts, and storm-elementals, it’s a biome sculpted for raw altitude and power. Eastern dragons are known to lair here in isolated, elevated craters, often conducting slow, spiraling flights that signal territory or spiritual focus. The landscape offers both vertical freedom and solemn remoteness. 2. Fogpine Expanse (1,000 sq km)

A massive, whisper-quiet conifer forest drenched in perpetual mist. It muffles sound but heightens presence. Wind-beasts, kirins, and stealth-oriented flyers find harmony here. Kitsunes and eastern dragons both frequent this region—kitsunes for its concealment and introspection, dragons for the network of waterways and ridgelines that let them glide in and out of cloud cover. The biome feels sacred: layered, slow, and unnervingly perceptive. 3. Silverstep Glades (900 sq km)

Rolling highland meadows marked by dew-wet grass, reflective pools, and silver-barked trees. Light-aspected beings like unicorns, dryads, and celestial cervines thrive here. Kitsunes are often seen during twilight hours—alone or in groups—performing ritualized interactions that may include mirrored movements, spirals, or subtle object placement. Despite their elusiveness, their presence is undeniable: half-playful, half-profound. 4. Echo Vale (800 sq km)

A sound-reactive canyon system where every footstep echoes, every call resonates unnaturally far. Phoenixes, sirens, thunder spirits, and voice-bearing creatures dominate here. While eastern dragons pass through, drawn by its sonic beauty, they rarely stay. Kitsunes enter in solitude when seeking intense emotional calibration, often appearing and vanishing without sound. The Vale has become an unspoken threshold—rumored to host quiet, permanent transformations in its hidden grottos. 5. Cragwater Reach (700 sq km)

A simulated coastal wilderness filled with geothermal lakes, rugged tidal shelves, and wave-battered cliffs. Aquatic dragons, mer-creatures, and sea serpents dwell here in inland waters that mimic oceanic behavior. While not a primary zone for eastern dragons or kitsunes, both have been spotted—dragons near the high basalt ridges, kitsunes occasionally seen watching the waves with eerie stillness. It’s a dangerous, isolated region—dramatic and coldly alive. 6. Thornrise Scrublands (500 sq km)

An arid, hostile land of thornbrush, scree, and scorching winds. It is home to sphinxes, manticores, and hybrid beasts driven by pride and ritual dominance. Kitsunes sometimes test themselves here, traversing the difficult terrain alone as a rite of renewal or reckoning. No creature thrives here by charm—only cunning and sheer resolve. The biome itself feels like a dare. 👥 INHABITANTS

All inhabitants in Mythos Reach live as fully feral animals, without clothes, language, or human markers. They act on instinct while retaining a human’s awareness and memory, resulting in complex behavior rituals. Kitsunes, known for intelligence and emotional cunning, are drawn to layered, introspective environments like the Glades and Fogpine. Eastern dragons, graceful and territorial, combine sky mastery with deep spiritual behavior, often linked to elemental flows or environmental alignment. Other creatures—gryphons, phoenixes, chimeras—follow their own ancestral instincts, yet share a deep respect for space, symbolism, and story. 🔄 TRANSFORMATION POLICY

Transformations in Mythos Reach begin at a minimum of three months, a period necessary to ensure neural harmony between human memory and instinctual behavior. Permanent transformation is available but unspoken—never advertised. The decision is intimate, and some believe the land itself helps guide it. Echo Vale, especially, is whispered to heighten internal alignment, making final choices feel inevitable rather than forced. 🛤 MONORAIL & ACCESS

The Mythos Reach Terminus rests on the preserve’s northern loop. Its architecture blends draconic motifs, celestial alignments, and shrine-like structures. Entry is formal, yet somber—no fanfare. Trail access is posted with symbolic markers (claw carvings, stone arcs) rather than signs. This isn’t a place for tourism—it’s a place for witnessing. 🎓 VISITOR EXPERIENCE

Visitors are encouraged to stay silent and observant. Most creatures here will ignore humans unless purposefully approached—and even then, response is not guaranteed. Some interactions are symbolic: a kitsune holding your gaze before vanishing into fog; a dragon circling overhead and then disappearing into thermals. If you're expecting fantasy tropes, you'll be disappointed. If you're open to something stranger and quieter—you might just learn something.
