"Best. Trip. Ever! Lemme just take a pictu- Wait where's my phone?"

Babe wake up, a new Beach Boy just dropped. Here's the second beach boy and my personal fave, Silly Wil! He's a scatterbrained chunky little roo who's just here for the vibes. Just a sweet lil fool to chill with.

Name: Wilbur “Wil” Montana

Age: 26

Species: Anthro Kangaroo

Occupation: Med student

Physical Appearance: Wilbur is a heavyset kangaroo on the shorter side with a light brown, almost orange-colored fur covering his body. The fur on his rounded belly and chest is a lighter white cream hue. He had abs once, but that was many years of snacks ago. Wil’s big, friendly eyes are grey, reminiscent of an overcast sky. He has long ears that flick instinctively at even the slightest touch, and his friends often poke at them to mess with him, causing them to twitch. Has a long, powerful tail that helps him keep his otherwise poor balance. Has a tendency to go shirtless, and is a firm believer in body positivity and “letting it all hang”. His pockets are full of snacks.

Personality: Wilbur is the definition of a free spirit. Completely unburdened by the expectations and opinions of others, Wilbur does and says exactly what he wants, even if it’s not entirely thought through. With Wil, it very rarely is. The group’s goofball, Wil’s antics, intentional as well as accidental, are the main source of entertainment on the Beach Boys’ misadventures, even occasionally cracking the ever-serious Grant into a soft grin. Wilbur uses "dude" and "bro" a lot, sounding like a surfer despite never being on a surfboard. Tends to go on long rambles when telling a story, going into irrelevant details or derailing from the point often.

Wilbur’s personality is that of someone who’s perpetually high. People who first meet him often wonder or outright ask if he’s on some kind of drug. But no, he’s just like that. He’s both easily entertained and easily distracted, his focus diverted by a particularly pretty rock on the road, or a bird flying overhead. Also, he can never find his phone because he constantly misplaces it.

His mild temperament and spaced-out demeanor cause some to write him off as dumb, but despite his tendency to be a bit scatterbrained, he’s quite adept at reading the room, catching on to the feelings of others with shocking accuracy. His emotional intelligence is very well-adjusted to his friends, and he’s always got just the right joke or uplifting comment to cheer someone up when needed or diffuse a tense situation before it escalates. Wilbur is a massive people pleaser, often helping and supporting others, even to his own detriment. He'll feel very distressed and guilty if he somehow hurts or upsets anyone, making him very easy taken advantage of at times.

Wilbur’s actually heavily considering dropping out of his medical studies, but has chosen not to mention it on the trip, as he worries it’ll “compromise the vibes.” That said, Wil is notoriously bad at keeping secrets and might slip up at some point. There is one exception to this, however: Wil never talks about his parents. The truth is, his dad is a disgraced politician, and Wil has distanced himself as much as possible, even changing his last name. He deflects any questions about his family, stating “There’s not a lot to say, it’s pretty lame”.

Background: Wil and Kevin have been friends for a while now, linking up quickly after starting med school. Neither particularly gifted nor challenged, Wil was lacking in one area: his ability to stay focused and lock in. He’d spend half of the lectures daydreaming, looking out the window rather than listening.

When Kevin suggested going on a three-week beach trip, Wil jumped at the chance for a change of scenery, and a weeks-long party. He only hoped that Grant, the friend group’s newest member, would come too, always enjoying seeing the diligent and serious Shiba unwind and live a little. He hopes this trip will bring them all closer, and perhaps that he’ll have some kind of revelation about his place in the world.
