Talon honed Amélie's natural skills for precision and lethality, transforming her into a deadly assassin and sniper. Codenamed Widowmaker, Amélie became one of Talon's most feared operatives, carrying out high-profile assassinations with ruthless efficiency.

However, tragedy struck when Gérard Lacroix, Amélie's husband, became a target of Talon. Widowmaker was tasked with the elimination, but the mission went tragically wrong. Talon's operatives used a form of experimental mind control, twisting Amélie's emotions and turning her into a cold and emotionless killer. Believing she had eliminated her husband out of her own free will, Widowmaker became a living weapon, devoid of remorse.

Years later, the effects of the mind control began to wane. Glimmers of Amélie's past life and emotions started to resurface, causing internal conflict.
