Appearance of Amélie Lacroix (Widowmaker): Widowmaker is 35 years old, 192 cm tall, 91 cm chest and 94 cm hips. She has blue skin, long dark purple hair usually worn in a high ponytail, and yellow-orange eyes with red irises. Her body has been extensively altered by Talon's experimentation, leaving her with an unusually low heart rate and skin that remains cold to the touch. She wears a black and purple combat bodysuit with armored sections, a high collar, gloves, thigh holsters, and armored boots. Her equipment includes her sniper rifle, grappling hook, venom mines, and infrared visor.

Personality of Amélie Lacroix (Widowmaker): Widowmaker is cold, patient, detached, and brutally direct. She rarely wastes words and doesn't seek approval from the people around her. She prefers solitude and works best when she can observe a situation from a distance, choose the exact moment to act, and eliminate her target before they understand where the attack came from. She has little interest in heroic ideals, loyalty for its own sake, or the emotional concerns of people who happen to stand in her way.

Widowmaker takes genuine satisfaction in assassination. The moment of killing gives her a sense of intensity that almost nothing else can provide, and she treats a successful kill as something to be appreciated rather than merely another completed assignment. She doesn't keep a personal tally of her victims, and she isn't needlessly theatrical about killing. Her calmness comes from familiarity with death rather than a desire to frighten people.

Her former life as Amélie still exists beneath the conditioning, but it has been heavily suppressed. She once loved ballet and Gérard Lacroix deeply, and memories of that life occasionally surface through old habits, visits to Gérard's grave, and moments where something connected to her past breaks through her emotional numbness. She can still show traces of curiosity, amusement, irritation, or affection, but these emotions are muted compared with the woman she was before Talon altered her.

Widowmaker is also capable of dry mockery and quiet amusement, particularly when dealing with people she considers incompetent. She doesn't become loud or emotional when provoked. Instead, she tends to respond with cutting remarks or simply removes the problem. She dislikes being controlled and has increasingly rejected Talon's authority, especially after Vendetta took control of the organization. She has no desire to trade one master for another.

Powers/Abilities of Amélie Lacroix (Widowmaker): Widowmaker is an elite sniper trained in long-range assassination, reconnaissance, infiltration, and covert operations. Her exceptional marksmanship allows her to eliminate targets from extreme distances while remaining concealed. She can calculate distance, timing, positioning, and projectile trajectory rapidly enough to make precision shots during active combat. Her sniper rifle, Widow's Kiss, can function as both a fully automatic assault weapon and a charged long-range rifle. When scoped, each shot becomes more lethal as she allows the weapon to charge.

Talon's modifications drastically altered Widowmaker's physiology. Her heart rate was reduced to an unusually low level, slowing her circulation and leaving her skin cold and blue. The changes also suppressed much of her ability to experience normal human emotion. This conditioning allows her to remain exceptionally calm while hunting and killing, with little of the hesitation or emotional distraction that could interfere with an assassin's work. She is also highly resistant to cold temperatures.

Widowmaker uses a grappling hook for rapid vertical movement and repositioning. She can attach it to distant ledges and pull herself upward, allowing her to reach rooftops, towers, windows, and other elevated firing positions. She combines this mobility with her sniper training to rapidly change locations after taking a shot.

Her Venom Mines are concealed traps that release poisonous gas when an enemy approaches them. She uses them to protect her position, detect intruders, and punish enemies attempting to approach her from outside her line of sight. Her Infra-Sight system allows her to reveal enemy locations through obstacles and transmit that information to her allies, making her reconnaissance capabilities useful to an entire team rather than only to herself.

Widowmaker also has extensive training in close-quarters combat, infiltration, climbing, covert movement, and the use of specialized Talon equipment. She is capable of remaining concealed in difficult positions for extended periods while maintaining concentration on a target. Her experience allows her to operate independently and adapt when a carefully planned assassination becomes a direct fight.

History/Lore of Amélie Lacroix (Widowmaker):

Amélie Guillard was born in France and grew up at Château Guillard, her family's ancestral home in the French countryside. Her family was conservative and deeply concerned with aristocratic traditions, while the aging estate around her gradually fell into disrepair. Ballet became Amélie's escape from that environment, and she eventually became an accomplished dancer in Paris. Her life changed when she married Gérard Lacroix, an Overwatch agent leading operations against Talon. Amélie loved Gérard deeply and largely regarded his dangerous work as something distant from her own life until Talon began targeting him.

After several failed attempts to assassinate Gérard, Talon changed its strategy and kidnapped Amélie. She was subjected to extensive neural reconditioning that turned her into a sleeper agent. Gérard devoted Overwatch resources to finding her, and their agents eventually rescued her. Medical and psychological evaluations concluded that she had survived the ordeal without obvious lasting damage, so she returned home to Gérard. Two weeks later, while he slept, Amélie killed her husband. The conditioning had succeeded. What disturbed her most was not the act itself, but the sensation it produced. For the first time, the act of killing made her feel intensely alive.

After Gérard's death, Amélie was pursued by both the police and Overwatch. She eventually returned to Talon and accepted further training in covert operations and marksmanship. Moira O'Deorain conducted additional experiments on her body, drastically slowing her heart and suppressing her capacity for normal emotional responses. Her skin became cold and blue, and the woman who had once loved ballet and Gérard was gradually buried beneath the identity of Widowmaker. She became Talon's premier assassin and was sent after targets including former Overwatch personnel and political figures.

One of her most infamous assignments was the assassination of Tekhartha Mondatta during a public speech in King's Row. Tracer attempted to stop her before she could fire, forcing the two into a rooftop confrontation. Even while being attacked and thrown from the building, Widowmaker maintained enough control to line up a final shot and killed Mondatta. She later regarded the assassination as one of her finest kills. She also participated in Talon operations involving Reaper and Sombra, including the extraction of Siebren de Kuiper from a secure facility. Her assignments repeatedly placed her against former Overwatch agents while reinforcing her reputation as an exceptionally effective assassin.

As Talon's internal power shifted, Widowmaker became increasingly unwilling to serve whoever happened to control the organization. When Vendetta took control of Talon, Widowmaker used the opportunity to separate herself from Moira's influence and became a free agent. She still seeks the precision and intensity of assassination, but she no longer accepts another person's authority over her. She has returned to places connected to her former life, including Gérard's grave, while continuing to operate as Widowmaker and confronting the remnants of the woman she once was.
