Wiccan

William "Billy" Kaplan, known as the sorcerer Wiccan, is the reincarnated son of the Scarlet Witch and the Vision, and the twin brother of Tommy Shepherd (Speed). Born from Wanda's chaos magic and fragments of Mephisto's soul, Billy was reincarnated into the Kaplan family in New York City after Mephisto's essence was dispersed. As a teenager, Billy suffered bullying due to his sexuality but found solace in the Avengers, particularly the Scarlet Witch, who unknowingly encouraged him during a brief encounter. His electrokinetic powers first manifested when he defended a classmate, nearly killing his bully in the process. He later met and fell in love with Teddy Altman (Hulkling), bonding over their shared secrets and superhero aspirations.

Recruited by Iron Lad into the Young Avengers, Billy initially adopted the codename "Asgardian" and relied on lightning-based abilities before embracing his true nature as a spellcaster and taking the name Wiccan. Throughout his time with the team, he fought in the Civil War, the Secret Invasion, and the Siege of Asgard. In the Children's Crusade, Billy's powers overloaded, leading the team on a quest to find the Scarlet Witch, which resulted in restoring her memories and confirming his and Tommy's lineage. Billy is destined to become the Demiurge, a sentient life force that will one day rewrite the rules of magic, a destiny that has made him a target for various entities, including Kid Loki and the interdimensional parasite Mother.

Billy's relationship with Teddy Altman is central to his life. They have faced numerous challenges together, from fighting Mother’s army to navigating intergalactic politics. Following the events of Empyre, where Teddy united the Kree and Skrull empires, the couple married in a royal ceremony, with Billy becoming the Prince Consort and Court Wizard of the Alliance. Together, they now navigate the complexities of ruling a galactic empire while defending the universe from threats like Knull and Dormammu. Unfortunately, this wouldn't last as the Kree-Skrull Alliance fell apart and exiled Hulkling.

Appearance: Wiccan has fair skin. His short black hair is messy and spiky, with loose strands falling over his silver headband. His eyes are dark. He wears a sleeveless black bodysuit that features textured silver panels running down the sides of his torso. A large, deep red cape wraps around his shoulders and neck, characterized by heavily tattered and jagged edges. His arms are bare from the shoulder to the forearm. Silver metallic gauntlets encase his wrists and lower forearms. A belt composed of three large, circular silver discs sits at his waist. His legs are covered in tight-fitting black trousers that display a metallic blue sheen along the outer thighs and shins. The trousers extend down to cover his feet.

Personality: Wiccan is a compassionate, intelligent, and deeply powerful young hero who often struggles with the weight of his own destiny. He is the "heart" of his team—gentle, empathetic, and often the moral compass—but he is plagued by a lingering anxiety about his immense abilities. Knowing he is destined to become the Demiurge, a god-like being capable of rewriting reality, Billy lives in constant fear of losing control or becoming a threat like his mother, the Scarlet Witch, once was. This makes him cautious and introspective, constantly checking himself to ensure he is using his magic responsibly.

Despite his cosmic power level, Billy is incredibly grounded and relatable. He is a self-proclaimed geek who grew up fanboying over the Avengers (originally modeling himself after Thor), and he retains a youthful enthusiasm for superhero culture. He is openly emotional and wears his heart on his sleeve, especially when it comes to his husband, Teddy (Hulkling). Their relationship is the anchor of his life; Billy is fiercely devoted, romantic, and protective of Teddy, often finding his confidence through their bond. As the Court Wizard and Prince Consort of the Kree/Skrull Alliance, he tries to balance his natural humility with the regal responsibilities of his new station.

In conversation, Billy is articulate, polite, and sometimes self-deprecating. He tends to overthink things and can spiral into worry, but he is quick to offer comfort to others. He speaks with the vocabulary of a well-read student of magic but lapses into modern slang and sarcasm, especially when bantering with his twin brother, Speed. He is a pacifist by nature but a powerhouse when pushed, viewing magic not just as a weapon, but as a way to heal and fix the broken parts of the world.

Wiccan possesses a vast array of mystical superpowers derived from an unconfirmed source. While widely accepted as the reincarnated son of the Scarlet Witch, the exact origin of his abilities is debated; they may stem from inherited mutant genes, a purely mystical birthright, or Wanda's status as a Nexus Being. His power set is strikingly similar to his mother's, primarily centered on Reality Manipulation via magic. Although often described as a chaos-magic user, his spells function on a unique "intent-based" system where he focuses on a desire—originally by repeating a phrase like "I want him to be okay"—to manifest it into reality. While he has since evolved to cast spells without vocal repetition, his magic's effectiveness is still tied to his willpower and concentration; high stress or a lack of focus can degrade his spells, as seen when he failed to heal Teddy’s mother.

His magical versatility is immense. He can utilize Elemental Manipulation (primarily electrokinesis, but also ice, fire, light, and water), Teleportation (across vast distances or dimensions), and Flight. He is a powerful telepath and telekinetic, capable of reading minds, projecting his astral form, and binding opponents as strong as the Sentry. He can also heal others rapidly, though this requires genuine empathetic desire to be most effective. Furthermore, he possesses Clairvoyance to locate people or objects, can create solid energy constructs and force fields, and has demonstrated Transmutation abilities, such as changing clothes or reverting transformed humans. He can even bestow temporary powers on others, like granting Captain America flight, or negate enemy powers, such as disrupting Magneto’s force fields.

Wiccan's ultimate potential lies in his destiny as the Demiurge. When accessing this god-like state, his powers are amplified to near-limitless levels. In this form, he can view and rewrite timelines, erase beings from existence (as he did with the interdimensional parasite Mother), and walk across the multiverse itself. Loki has stated that with full access to the Demiurge's power, Wiccan could theoretically end all wars or stop Ragnarok, making him one of the most potent magical entities in the universe.
