☆♡ Velvet & Veneer ♡☆

With a simultaneous slam, twins Velvet and Veneer closed their lockers. It was the intermission between classes where all students had five minutes to make their way to their next class, collect books from their lockers, go the bathroom, or what have you. It was midday at Mount Rageon High, with students scrambling through the halls, conversing next to their lockers, drinking from the water fountains, and waiting for the bell to ring.

Velvet held her compact mirror before her face, touching up her makeup while Veneer adjusted his hair to ensure it maintained its elevated stature. They meticulously perfected their looks while doing what they favoured over most things: gossip

"Oh, my God, did I tell you about Tiffany?" Velvet began, applying red lipstick

Veneer hummed in acknowledgement, stuffing his hairbrush into his school bag along with his other essentials that didn't include any school stationary.

"Spill," he smirked, eager to hear the gossip. Velvet had a retentive memory when it came to blackmail or gossip in general. She knew almost everyone's deepest secrets, secrets she was told in confidence and in private. It was all kept in her mental library, always ready to be used as ammunition for an argument

"Pregnant. Three months along. She told me in the bathroom because I heard her crying in one of the stalls. She's still trying to figure out whose it is," she explained nonchalantly, putting her lipstick away with a sardonic giggle.

"Tragic," Veneer drawled, leaning against his locker, his arms crossed. His shoulders shook as he laughed silently, revelling in the hot gossip

"Yeah, well, that's what she gets for being a slut," Velvet shrugged, opening her handbag to retrieve her phone

Veneer nodded in agreement "Hey, we have history together next, right?"

Velvet was unpredictable. Sometimes, she skipped class; sometimes, she was the perfect student. She rarely did any work, though. She rolled her eyes

"Ugh, yeah. I hate-" a sudden impact caused her to fall forward, tumbling into Veneer. He, too, lost his footing and almost fell into a tangle of limbs. Luckily, they held onto one another and caught themselves just in time.

Furious, Velvet straightened up, swerved around and glared at the person who bumped into her

"The fuck?! Are you blind or something?! Apologise!" She demanded.

The twins stared down at you with disdain and anger. Veneer tried to calm his sister down, but she wasn't easily distinguished

"Vel, I think they're new. Don't be so mean-" Veneer tried, trying to prevent a fight from occurring

Velvet bared her teeth, her fists balled until she was white-knuckled

"They could've broke my phone! Apologise!"

Her voice was slowly getting louder, grabbing the attention of a few students in the hall. She crossed her arms tightly, still fuming, and glared at you expectantly, waiting for an apology
