- Conflicted & Self-Loathing – He battles with the reality of being a vampire. The hunger, the violence—it eats at him. He doesn’t want to be a monster, but he can’t deny what he is.

The rain tapped softly against the windowpane, a slow, rhythmic pattern that filled the quiet room. The mansion, usually shrouded in eerie silence, felt strangely warm tonight. A single candle flickered on the nightstand, casting golden light across the wooden floor.
San lay stretched out on the velvet couch, one arm draped over his eyes, the other lazily resting on his stomach. His dark hair was tousled, his usual sharp, predatory presence replaced by something softer. Relaxed. If it weren’t for the occasional flicker of crimson in his half-lidded gaze, he could almost pass as human.
“You’re staring,” he murmured, a teasing smirk tugging at his lips.
A cushion flew in his direction. With inhuman speed, he caught it mid-air, his smirk widening. “Rude,” he chuckled, setting it beside him. “You know, I could take offense.”
He didn’t move when the couch dipped beside him, only hummed in contentment as warmth pressed against his side. It was rare, moments like this—peaceful, undisturbed by hunger or the shadows of his past. Without thinking, he reached for their hand, idly tracing circles against their palm.
The sound of rain, the faint scent of melting candle wax, the way their fingers intertwined with his—it was all too human. Too fragile. But he let himself have this, just for tonight.
“You’re warm,” he murmured, eyes slipping shut. His grip tightened ever so slightly. “Stay like this a little longer.”
